When it comes to UK country pubs, it doesn’t get much better than The Blue Bell Cider House. This handsome, 17th-century edifice rules the roost down Warings Green Road, close to the village of Earlswood, by the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal wending its way north to Birmingham, surrounded by farms and woodland. Hitch the barge, park the car or bike, and enjoy rustic, home-cooked British food alongside fantastic drinks, including vegan ale and cider brewed at the pub’s very own Blue Bell Brew House. Trying saying that one three times fast with a mouthful of roasted pork belly with Colcannon mash and cider gravy! As for the food, it’s classic pub grub taken up a notch, with hearty meals and grills bookended by a healthy-options menu, over-50s and kids’ menus, and, of course, a Sunday carvery. The Blue Bell is also a local hotspot for events and entertainment – keep your eyes peeled and your finger on the booking button.
Superb meal. Superb service. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
Lovely pub on the canal side, can't say much about the outside as it was dark and raining when we arrived, but inside was certainly warm and welcoming. Our table was reserved under the name so very easy to find. The owner came and spoke to us, and the staff where all friendly. We had the beef stew with bread and it was beautiful, unfortunately we were so full we could not manage a desert, so we will be back as they looked delicious.
Lovely pub with amazing food! I had the beef stew which was very, very tasty, and also had some of my granddaughters mashed potato - well, she wasn't eating it all! - and it was some of if the best mash I have ever had. The rest of the party all really enjoyed the food and I will be back, with my other half! Whilst taking our orders we were told there would be a delay on the food but it wasnt that long at all - lot quicker than it's taken in many other restaurants and pubs. Definitely recommend this pub for atmosphere and food!
Great pinot far from the town' out in the counryside good food good location by the canal friendly service will be going back there soon
Very simple booking process with the table reserved and the friendly staff knowing exactly where your table was. This is a traditional inn with a local feel. The menu has a good selection of items all of which are reasonably priced. The food is lovely 'home-cooked' and presented really well. There's a good selection of drinks at the bar and they have their own ale brewery on tap too! Really recommend this place for a lovely meal in traditional surroundings. If you expect gastro pub or recently renovated places, this isn't for you. It's a pub, no airs and graces - that's what makes this place fab!
there is no way possible you would be able to eat 3 Blue Bell Brewery belly busting meals. I desperately wanted a traditional dessert but after a generous starter but it would have been illegal never even managed to finish my delicious main. the food was freshly cooked and quite wonderful. This pub with a variety of ales and ciders is fabulous along with the very welcoming and helpful staff only downside we need to find a t-total mate to become our designated driver because I wanted to stay longer been illegal Please visit the hidden gem, which is the Blue Bell
I have many fond memories of the Blue Bell Cider House from a few years back, so it was quite sad to see that the decor is now looking a bit tired. The staff were lovely and friendly, as well as being very helpful and attentive. The range of beers is still good. I also had half a pint of one of the 3 ciders on offer, just right. We chose from the over 50s 3 course lunch menu. The food was simple and portions were copious. Rather odd that when I booked on line it said that I should hurry because there were only a few places left. There were, however, not many diners.
Had family meal for daughters 21st. Lovely friendly atmosphere, staff very helpful, meals brought quickly, cooked beautifully and plenty of it, great value for money, you can walk your dinner off along the canal next to it or sit in the garden and watch the boats go past. Definately recommend anyone to try.
We booked in advance which proved a good idea. We had a little wait for the meals but we did not mind as we chatted. The food which looked appetising when it arrived was hot and tasty, the only thing was we were so full after the mains we could not manage a desert ! Will certainly go again.
The best carvery for miles. Really friendly atmosphere and amazing home style food in a small large a quantity as you can manage. The quality of all of the produce was excellent and the service was efficient and super friendly. Can't wait to go back!
