Going for lunch should be a pleasant calm experience. This place is the opposite. Noisy, very cramped and has no atmosphere. The food is ok if you like your traditional British over-cooked You always get what you pay for

Excellent pub food with a homely feeling with plenty of things going on. Not much around the pub but plenty on mooring for any size boat.

Excellent lunchtime visit to the Blue Bell. Fish and chips fantastic. (Small whale) ploughmans also very well presented and was delicious. Will certainly be returning. A lot of work going on there - needs it- should be very good when completed. Great situation by the side of the canal.

The venue is very welcoming from both staff and customers. The Carvery was very good value but unfortunately meat and vegetables (especially the beef and roast potatoes) were far too well done. We came early so the food had only just been put out. We visited because of good reports from friends and acquaintances but I think they do actually like their meat very well done.

The Bluebell Cider House is your typical narrow boat pub. There are no airs and graces here, but the food is excellent and portions generous. It is nice to see the chef(s) walking around and handing out meals and chatting to customers too, offering a friendly family atmosphere!

We booked in advance which proved a good idea. We had a little wait for the meals but we did not mind as we chatted. The food which looked appetising when it arrived was hot and tasty, the only thing was we were so full after the mains we could not manage a desert ! Will certainly go again.

Have eaten here a few times, excellent fish and chips and liver and onions. Some people in our group weren't so happy with their meals. Reasonable prices and large portions. I'd go again.

Nice ale and good food. Could do without the television being on - they are always a bit of a distraction and conversation killer! Would definitely recommend this pub!

Good, honest pub grub at an affordable price - can particularly recommend the faggots, chips and mushy peas! It’s not restaurant type dining. You eat at tables in the pub. It’s very unpretentious. A nice atmosphere!

Lovely pub with amazing food! I had the beef stew which was very, very tasty, and also had some of my granddaughters mashed potato - well, she wasn't eating it all! - and it was some of if the best mash I have ever had. The rest of the party all really enjoyed the food and I will be back, with my other half! Whilst taking our orders we were told there would be a delay on the food but it wasnt that long at all - lot quicker than it's taken in many other restaurants and pubs. Definitely recommend this pub for atmosphere and food!
