I very much enjoyed my meal here, the turbot and roll to start were great. The service was excellent. Unfortunately my partners scampi had not been cleaned properly, we were not charged which made up for the disappointment ti some extent. The Viognier was lovely. I would like to return.
Lovely venue awesome food and the staff are wonderful - if I were here for a longer stay I’d visit again
Loved the restaurant but wish the online menu had been updated.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Braided Fig. Lovely food, excellent friendly service and background music perfect to allow for normal conversation. Thank you 😊
Great food and great service. I’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend :)
Enjoyed our meal and great service. Good to participate in restaurant week and try new places. We will be back.
Visited here last night as part of Foodie Fortnight. 5 star food and service and we will absolutely be going back again.
Service was extremely slow and other tables on the normal menu being served before us. If a restaurant decides to partake in aberdeen restaurant week, honor these customers with the same level of service
This was our first visit to the Braided Fig. The food and service were absolutely fantastic, we will definitely be returning. Thank you to the staff everyone was so friendly and helpful, a real credit to the restaurant.
Everything was exceptional from the service we received, the quality of the food, the ambiance and the price. I have already been recommending to everyone I know and will return again and again
We had delicious food and the service was very good
Nice ambience , friendly, helpful staff & nice menu. All our meals were delicious. 60 pound reservation fee a bit unusual given that it was so quiet in the restaurant on a Wednesday & may make you uncompetitive ..
Loved the food and the service was spot on as always
Great service, great roast, can't wait for our next visit
Stumbled upon it - it is quite hidden as it is overpowered by the pub next door - and went in 20 mins early for my booking - not an issue as it was a slow night. Offered water and a drink immediately, and selected a cocktaisl off the interesting menu - bar looked pretty stocked so i am confident I would have been able to order off-book. Pretty extensove wine list for a place this size! Had a couple of white wines and the Gin/Elderflower/Prosecco cocktail - sprig of mint and frozen grapes was very complimentary. I chose the Cullen Skink which was hearty and smoky - lots of leek and potatoes and not overpowered by too much fish - just the right amount. I added black pepper to mine. The crusty bread was amazing. Main was the North Sea Cod on a chick pea and sausage tomato cassoulet - I couln't finish as i was too full. Cod was moist and flaky, chickpeas al dente and broccholini was crunchy and verdant green. Would recommend.
Lovely food, very friendly waiter only down side was that it wasn't busy, it is a hidden gem that people need to visit
I don't want to write 10 words. 1 2 3.
Lovely meal, great service and perfect pace - priced reasonably considering the excellent food. I think this is a hidden gem in Aberdeen - well done
Good service lovely food and wine We will be back
We had a lovely meal. The food was excellent and the service very good. Particularly enjoyed the chicken wontons which is one of their special dishes. One of Aberdeens hidden gems.
The food was fantastic and the staff were great. We will definitely be back to The Braided Fig on future visits to Aberdeen.
Always a lovely meal at The Braided Fig and this was no exception. Thoroughly recommend as an independent Aberdeen restaurant!
Great food , great service, overall very pleased. Great atmosphere.
Good food and nice people. A place where you want to come back
First in for lunch but as it was my birthday it felt like private dining. Joined by others later. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - would definitely go back
Was great atmosphere and amazing food! Would highly recommend to friends and family
Great service, ace food, lovely setting, will be back! ☺️
Had a lovely dinner thank you. Tasty good quality food
At a time when there are staff shortages alongside increasing prices this lunch proved that there are excellent staff and value for money eating out to be had. Food quality and presentation excellent. Service professional, friendly and unobtrusive. Thank you.
Lovely food and excellent service. What’s not to love. Xx
Had a lovely meal and the staff were amazing. We will definitely go back
Lovely food, great service and very nice restaurant… thank you
The food was excellent, even adapted the burger to add black pudding to make it extra special. The service by the two young male servers was excellent too. Was maybe a little slow with the delivery of the food but maybe because we went straight to main courses which take a bit longer to prepare. Hadn’t been in for a long time but will definitely return.
Lovely food, quiet and friendly location. Attentive and friendly service. A great way to celebrate a graduation.
Based on the pictures on the web page we choose to come here . On arrival a great venue with a lovely tree inside but the food presented was definitely not what was on show. Staff was friendly, we had been there for an hour before we received our starters, and then in the total opposite our mains arrived as soon as our starters were taken from the table. Food was good though, starter was quite heavy for me and my wife (haggis & seafood cocktail). Would go back again but would rethink the occasion first. .
A lovely evening - perfect place for a graduation celebration.
I cannot recommend this restaurant. Service was not up to scratch and two of the four dishes we ordered were extremely poor. The seafood salad, albeit nicely presented was so cold as to be virtually devoid of any taste. I'd wager it had been sat in a very cold fridge all day. This was followed by a Salmon dish that was so heavily overseasoned it was inedible. The decent thing would have been not to have charged for this dish but it wasn't removed from the bill. We won't be coming back.
We went to the Braided Fig as a treat on Father’s Day. It’s a lovely modern restaurant and the service was excellent. The Sunday Roast we had was of excellent quality and the roast beef c/w trimmings was delicious. On our previous visits we had 2 slices of beef but on this occasion there was only one slice. We were slightly disappointed in that respect. That said it was an excellent experience and would be happy to return .
Loved the atmosphere, staff were lovely. And the food was delicious 😋.
The staff were very good an dealt with all my needs.. My only issue (which was not really me as I have an open palate) to much aniseed in the gravy, not everyone will like that... I wanted desert but they had no option to doggie bag, which meant a no sale
A lovely meal at lunchtime in a nice quiet venue. We will defo visit again, as food was really nice and a most enjoyable experience.
A great evening meal again. New menu options very high quality. Presentation was excellent. Only down side was the slightly overpriced vegan options. Will definitely be back but maybe only for special occasions.
Service was excellent, very attentive and polite. Food not so good! I had the pork medallions, which read well on the menu, in reality they were dreadfully overcooked and the sauce was far too salty! Does nobody check these things before the plate is taken out, I can’t understand why any caring chef would present a plate like that!!! The table next to ours also complained about a sauce being too salty, I didn’t hear the outcome of their complaint and I didn’t say anything about my dish, I was enjoying my company and didn’t want to spoil the evening.
Service was extremely slow. Only one other table with customers. Food was average. Used to be better.
There was a big group in at the same time as us, or so it sounded like, wasn’t sure if it was a problem per se. Just detracted from the cosy little atmosphere. Overall good night was had by myself and my friend.
Attentive and helpful service by staff. I had the honey and chilli chicken followed by Affogato. It was beautifully presented but was a bit too sweet for me. I would have liked a more variety of vegetables.
Really nice surroundings with food to match. I highly recommend.
It’s been a while since I last ate here and I won’t leave it so long until next time. Delicious food, excellent service and a busy but not too noisy ambiance allowing for conversation over dinner. Well done team 👏🏼
Stunning food, highly recommended to anyone. Wide choice of food on their new menu. Today's waitress Rachel was absolutely lovely. Attentive and knowledgeable without being in your face. Again I'd highly recommended The Braided Fig to anyone.
Great food and good service. Perhaps a bit more time between starters and main would relax more the experience.
