Lovely lunch yesterday at the Cellar Door. Special mention for Lydia our waitress who was very attentive!
Nice, friendly staff Well balanced menu Tasty Scottish food Good atmosphere
We were very pleased about the waitresses! The food was really tasty and the quality was « au rendez-vous ».
Fantastic food. The pork belly was to die for. Friendly service. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
Food and wine amazing!! Lovely comfortable atmosphere! Brilliant friendly staff.
We had the six course tasting menu. It was a fabulous meal. Every dish was well presented and tasted amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful when needed without being over familiar. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.
Lovely night with friends. Our waitress was brilliant 👍🏻 Thanks . Have been before and will definitely be back again in the future. Keep up the good work
Lovely meal and staff were fabulous. This was my second visit and can highly recommend. Menu selection at lunchtime was excellent and wine prices reasonable.
Great food with a Scottish vibe and friendly service. Didn't get full marks as website doesn't make it clear the set menu is only available at set times and were sat next to a blazing hot radiator.
The food was delicious and the service was great. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the set lunch is very good value for money. Would definitely return.
Very nice restaurant. Had lunch and food was lovely and staff friendly and attentive. Had a goats cheese starter and fish cakes for a main. Good choice of wines.
The food the service and the interior were excellent. Loved everything and had a great time. So I highly recommend. Will go there again once back in Edinburgh.
Fantastic fresh food and beautifully presented. Very helpful stay and will definitely return and recommend. Handy for Festival Theatre and all city sights. Thank you
Went to restaurant on a Saturday before going to the theatre so was quite quiet. Staff incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks etc. Both of us had the Pork Belly which was tender and tasty. Sticky Toffee pudding lived up to its reputation. Overall a great experience and no hesitation to recommend
Excellent service and fantastic food! I had the tasting menu - 5 courses which included the fish cake for starter and venison for mains. Dessert was fab too. My companion had the two course set - fish cake and burger. Enjoyed the evening. Sitting spaces limited so advise making a reservation to avoid disappointment. Conveniently located too.
Lovely restaurant with great menu, excellent food and good choice of wines. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Would highly recommend for any occasion. Will be back soon!
Lovely little find. Cosy atmosphere, attentive staff, well priced and the food was fabulous with nice portion sizes and good side recommendations that complemented. Would return in a heartbeat.
The food was too Expensive for what you get. Soup slopped in to a bowl and the portion of the veg risotto was a spoon full! Bellow average food. The only good things are the decor and wine.
Lovely 3 course lunch for only £15 in the centre of Edinburgh. Nice surroundings and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. I would go again and have already recommended to other friends.
Fantastic restaurant and great experience. Thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the service. Lovely range of true Scottish food on the menu and this is what we go for. We came last time we visited Edinburgh and would recommend a visit every time.
This is a fantastic Scottish menu restaurant. I always go when I come to Edinburgh. Lorna and her team are very welcoming and the food is excellent.
Lovely food and nice relaxed atmosphere but fairly pricey for the level of food. Had a chocolate delice for desert which was tasty but quite mean in the portion size.
Food was fantastic and staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. Warm cosy atmosphere . Staff took time to describe each course and enjoyed chatting to young waitress who genuinely seemed to enjoy chatting to customers without appearing to be making an effort.
The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! Even a fussy eater like me could have eaten the whole menu. Excellent selection of wines and Ales.
Food was fantastic, very reasonably priced! Staff were wonderful and accommodating the entire evening as I prepared to propose to my partner, its certainly become a night to remember and the cellar door really helped make the night!
Excellent food and service! Great place and experience! My family and I felt very comfortable! The créeme brulee was delicious! The salmón great and itbaldo has an excellent menú for kids!
Food was excellent well cooked and hot, staff all very pleasant and the set menu wa good value and choice. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends
lovely Fresh food very well presented and tasty. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back as it’s in an ideal spot to eat during the Edinburgh festival..
Food was lovely and the staff were equally lovely. Only small criticism would be the slight lack of choice on the menu as the options available were quite basic e.g. burger/chips, fish & chips.. however saying that the fish & chips were really tasty!!
I reserved a table for 3 for lunch. The waitresses were very helpful and friendly. The food were amazing, and the latte was very nice too! I would come back again if I ever visit Edinburgh again and would definetly recommend this restaurant to anyone who want some delicious food with a good price! :)
Lovely little restaurant for a relaxed evening. Food was delicious and the staff had a great sense of humour! Will absolutely be back for seconds!
The meals were good but the service was slow we are still waiting on dessert but very faste with the bill very poor sorry whould not go back
Food was delicious but meal (2 courses) took about 3.5hrs. Staff were very apologetic and offered complimentary nibbles and hot drinks but overall still a very long time. Good food though!
Great ambience and attentive service, food was lovely, good value for money in a very convenient location. We will definitely be back some time soon.
Wonderful, humorous service and outstanding food. The Cullen skink is the best in Edinburgh. The menu is excellent and offers very good value for money.
I cannot find fault, food was excellent service was spot on. Restaurant is simply lovely It deserves at least one visit. I am booked to go back for a Christmas Lunch
Food is great! My first haggis, needs and tattooed. Portions are decent sized and good value. Staff were lovely too. Very good restaurant all around👍
Great Scottish food, really nice atmosphere and staff/service, the portions are enough and it is absolutely worth it...do not skip it. Thank you so much
The menu was very reasonably priced at £12 for 2 courses. I had broccoli soup which was lovely and vegetarian haggis which was so good. .
Piatti presentati molto bene, personale gentile, manca il Wi-Fi, location non nelle aspettative, spazio ridotto tra i tavoli e gli stessi un po’ piccoli, rapporto qualità prezzo migliorabile
Amazing food and service - not a finger to put on it - and reasonable prices. I celebrated my birthday there and they were a part of making that evening memorable.
The restaurant was very busy and very noisy. The service was very friendly but slow. My main course was chicken breast which was tough, and the whole plateful looked as if it had been hanging around for some time. My friend had the wrong order delivered, and when she got what she ordered, it was undercooked, tepid and a very small portion. Dessert was delicious, but overall, not up to the standard which I'd experienced on previous visits. I won't be going back.
Great service, nice romantic ambience but with loads of space for bigger parties, food was very tasty and well presented. The traditional nature of the menu makes this a brilliant place to sample some well executed Scottish cuisine.
Excellent food and service. The dishes were innovative and tasty. Everything was well prepared to a high standard. We will likely return on future visits to Edinburgh.
Brilliant food! Squeezed us in at rather short notice but made us feel incredibly welcome. The venison was delicious and the pudding to die for.
All of the food and service was truely excellent but the highlight was the chocolate dessert combined with Glenmorangie whiskey - out of this world!
Super friendly staff, beautiful dishes, lovely setting, we had a very good time. The haggis was our favorite starter, the chocolate our favorite dessert. We would definitely recommend coming here.
Delicious food, and plenty of choice on the reasonably priced set menu. Lovely atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend and definitely go again.
Lovely and attentive service in an elegantly relaxed atmosphere. Soup was delicious, whereas the veggie haggis burger left a lot to wish for. It wasn’t bad per se, just not as good as I would have expected from that kind of establishment. Fish and chips looked amazing but I didn’t try it. Probably very good for meat and fish eaters, not so much for vegetarians. Overall I might still go back when I want to bring someone else out for dinner in the city centre, provided that they’re neither vegetarians nor vegans.
