Had the £13.95 Special. My Main course was v.good, wife's a little bland - but overall satisfied, good value for money, we will revisit.

Over priced drinks,food was ok found hair in my meal (not nice) brought me another one within 2 mins weird really as we had waited ages for food to arrive originally so makes me think they just took hair out of dish then sent it back. Won't go back

Great food and atmosphere. The sizzling steak Cantonese style was beautiful. The service was excellent even though the restaurant was very full on the night.

Food as always was excellent but overall impression was that the small number of staff struggled to cope with a busy restaurant. No complaints at all regarding quality of food or our service, just felt that the staff were overwhelmed at times. Still our favourite Chinese but management could possibly plan better for busy services.

The service was good. The menue had plenty of choice. The food was well prepared and perfectly cooked. We have been many times and the standard is always good.

Food was lovely and staff were very friendly. However we ordered a banquet at 7.30 and by 9pm had not even received the duck dish despite having been given hot plates in readiness which by then were totally cold. We commented to a waiter and our duck and then main course suddenly appeared. A group at a neighbouring table who came in and ordered after us had already been served so they were well ahead of us. We feel we had been forgotten. However it was worth it when it arrived thank you.

The food was delicious and the service was very good. The staff were very friendly and attentive. For a week day evening it was fairly busy which shows how popular this restaurant is.

Food was great as always, the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and staff are friendly and do not rush the service. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Still good,but not as good as when we have been before,some of the food was cold. Nicely re decorated and pleasant staff,but for a Friday night expected more people in.

Tried hard, quite busy. Rated 4/6 because dim sum originally ordered not to my partners liking . they did change them for different ones which were ok.

Never had a bad experience at The China Room. Staff are pleasant & efficient but above all helpful. Food is always top notch. On the night the restaurant was very busy but food came swiftly and the atmosphere was good. 5* star

The food and service at the China Room Westhoughton was excellent as usual. Four drinks, two starters and main courses for £55. Good value for money.

food was ok but too sweet, sauces needed to be better balanced. Waiting staff seemed bored and disinterested which is a complete contrast to the least time we ate there.

Excellent food and a good choice of menu at this restaurant. Everything is so tasty and flavoursome, and it is by far my favourite Chinese restaurant

Another excellent meal at the China Room, Westhoughton. The Thai style seafood was the best I have had in a long time same with the Vietnamese prawn starter.

Overall great evening out. Staff pleasant and efficient and food top class. Very busy on the night which created a good atmosphere. Live guitarist added to the atmosphere without being in your face.

Very nice meal, would return again. Restaurant had a good atmosphere too. Magician on Sunday nights is a nice touch, kept the kids entertained! 😊

On entry to restaurant was warmly greeted and shown to our table. Ordered drinks which arrived promptly. Food was delicious and service impeccable. A fab evening out, we will be returning.

We booked an early time, as we don't like to eat after 6pm, so there wasn't a great atmosphere. But that was our choice ! The food and service, was excellent and they even allowed us to change a dish, off the set menu. It's was our first visit to The China Room, what more could you ask for, good food and a good bottle of wine, at reasonable prices. We will be going again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others !

Duck course was fantastic and very plentiful Great service Staff were happy and polite Wine choices good and very reasonably priced Relaxed atmosphere with music quietly playing in background

Excellent staff, we had the three course special for £12.95. Hot serving plates for the main courses would have been better. The food was ok but I wasn't ecstatic. Plenty of it and it was fresh. Good value for money.

food excellent, a bit crowded, but that did not detract from the good service. Saturday night maybe not the best time, as it was a bit rowdy, atmosphere slightly marred by drunken loudmouth.

Food superb and hot. Price not to bad could be a little cheaper, Service excellent although my partner and I went outside for a cigarette and they took our drinks even though coats were on the chairs we did get fresh drinks however. Booking on line easy.

Another excellent meal the Vietnamese prawn starter dish is one of the best starters I have ever had in a Chinese restaurant. Also a great guitar player supplying the entertainment.

We go to this restaurant about twice a month if we go in the week we don't need to book but Friday or Saturday you must book as it is the best restaurant in Westhoughton. Food great staff so friendly and great atmosphere.

Always an excellent meal at the China room if you are ever in Westhoughton it is one of the best restaurants in the area. Some of the competitors are well below average but I have never had a poor meal here.

Another great meal at the China Room staff are so friendly and the food is fantastic. The Vietnamese prawn starter dish is as good a starter than I have had anywhere.

Owner, Steve & his staff are personable, efficient & knowledgable. The food is excellent (we've never had a poor meal in 5 years) and great value for money. Car-parking is sizeable. We'll keep going !!

The China Room is a very good restaurant. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the food is consistently good. Top this off with reasonable charges and you have the makings of a good night out. We had a starter, main course and desert each, I had a coke and my wife had a glass of red wine and the total bill came to £45.80. Good value in my opinion.

Living nearby we have known the China Room since it opened as a restaurant but only recently discovered just how good it is these days. We now rate it as one of our best Chinese style food experiences, with efficient and friendly staff and a brilliant menu. One of our favourites.

food was brill, service was brill, never go to another Chinese nearby again. The salt and pepper chicken they do is really really really nice

Great food. Well presented. Staff friendly. Manager very friendly and talked to us a couple of times. Will be going back for sure several times. A real find in Westhoughton.

Ive been to the China Room many times really nice place Steve the owner and all the staff are always very welcoming the food is brilliant and the early bird menue is well worth the money and every other Sunday a magician is there to do magic tricks and he is brilliant

Great evening. Really good food at reasonable prices. Extensive menu with lots of options for specials, set meals and a la carte. Service was good, efficient but not intrusive. Enjoyed the magician who wowed us with his street magic in between courses.

Could find no reason to complain about the food or service, however the place lacked atmosphere and it had none of the trimmings you expect from a Chinese restaurant experience, for example no lazy Susan or food warmers on the tables, no offer of chopsticks, just for some reason forks and spoons on the table. In all a little disappointing in the total experience, sorry to say

Excellent food and atmosphere. The staff were unobtrusive but on hand when you needed them. The spring rolls the best I've tasted. Would recommend the restaurant without hesitation.
