The Chophouse Braintree

Excellent food and service as usual. Wanted to leave a tip via my debit card as had no cash but the extra goes to the management for breakages not the staff 😡 So if paying by card take a little cash for the excellent staff.

Booked The Chophouse at the last minute. Somehow we had missed out on going there for the last few years, even I though live in Braintree. Excellent, food, atmosphere and service. We will be back!

Friendly service with excellent food. This restaurant has been though various changes of ownership and we had not eaten there for many years so we were delighted by what we found and will definitely return again soon.

Pretty good a long wait to order and the salmon ravioli special starter was very dry obviously dried out before serving , but the meal was very good overall

Great atmosphere, pleasant staff, food was delicious. Both had steak, apple pie was homemade and tasty. I would go back time after time and my lady with me felt the same...

We visited on a Friday lunchtime and it was lovely and quiet. The food was excellent, and the staff attentive. We will definitely be returning!

Had a great evening at the chophouse. I chose the lamb special but it was tough!!!! the starters and desserts were very good - the vegetarian option main was disappointing too. However the staff and service was excellent.

Fantastic evening full of delicious food and ambience. Only thing we felt that hampered our night was our table was right by the door and wall. My husband and i both crammed in and there wasnt much room to move as the whole floor was packed full of tables and people. We could not fault the food - it was superb as always, just a shame on the seating.

Lovely little restaurant. I believe we were served by the owner who obviously takes a massive pride in his business. We watched him patiently showing the young waitress how to set tables to an immaculate standard. The Menu was small and each dish executed perfectly. The mash was smoked bone marrow / butter infused, something I have never had before and was gorgeous. All of the courses were good. The drinks menu was right up our street with a large gin selection. We will return.

It was our first time at the restaurant on Friday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was fantastic and the service was great. We will definitely be back, if not just for the cocktails!

Unexpectedly for Braintree a marvellous restaurant - great food and choice. Extensive wine list and really friendly personable service. Compact and cozy space brings out a great warm atmosphere. Been to most other eateries in the area this is right up there Bravo

Very nicely put together, nice decor and a very relaxing place to eat. The staff look after you and the food was excellent. Nice chat with the owner after our meal and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We will be returning.

Lovely Sunday lunch, great service. Food was superb. The platter for main course was just amazing. The suggested wine and beer matched the food perfectly. Will definately return.

Another fantastic meal in a fabulous and quaint setting! Local produce, fresh food and friendly staff, exactly what we look for in a restaurant, just wish we'd found it sooner!

From the moment we arrived until we left we were looked after extremely well .. Food was excellent service was very professional and friendly , we had a very good experience and would definitely visit again .

This was my first trip to The Chophouse, and it won't be my last. Such a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The fish and chips was nice, but the sticky toffee sundae was the best! WE sat inside for lunch then out in the little court garden in the sunshine - we almost felt like we were in Spain :-)

Beautiful food, great atmosphere with very attentive staff that catered for all our requirements. Will definitely return again. Perfect for Special occasions etc etc. Thank you.

Took my grandparents for lunch. Very helpful and friendly staff and delicious food at a good price. Very nice day will defiantly be returning to try the bottomless brunch!
