Best Roast in Essex! First time on a Sunday and impressed with service, food and atmosphere. Good value for quality of ingredients. Will be back.

Exceptional food and outstanding service enjoyed every element of my meal a great experience for your taste buds. Definitely worth a visit for those who enjoy food

Beautiful food with an ambient atmosphere, this restaurant is hands down the best in Braintree. All the produce is local which makes it pricier than most, but well worth the money.

wasnt its usual self too slow - menu has become stale and known allergie items are being added as unnecessary chefy bits to mnenus eg cockle butter on a perferctly good hake ( doesnt need cockle) and as for a shell fish allergy ? - also mustard seed spuds - listed within the top ten allergy creators - why ? long time to wait bearing in mind there were only two other tables and I had , like others, to go the counter to pay fo rthe bill after a long wait from asking not at its known best, dont know whats going wrong

Amazing service from the moment we arrived. The Sunday roast was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

Lovely restaurant, nice decor, friendly staff, relaxed vibe, plently of food for sunday lunch (had to take stuff away in doggie bags!) Would go back again.

Excellent service, ambience and meal, perfect evening thank you to all @ Chophouse Braintree. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the quieter part of the Town, but equally central to all amenities.

Lovely Sunday roast , always my favourite place to eat on a Sunday, much better than the chain of Cavary's that's everyone goes to! Not a patch on the chophouse Sunday lunch

Wow amazing restaurant.food was really good.i had fillet steak with chips and added a side of buttered greens.all was cooked to perfection.highly recommend and will definitely be returning.staff were also very welcoming

We went for Mother's Day lunch and must say it's was absolutely lovely, food and service 10 out of 10 by all of us. We have been before a couple of times just by accident we saw it on our way home as we live in Sawbridgeworth but worth the journey and constantly good

Good atmosphere, nice gin menu, very good food which was well cooked, nicely presented and a reasonable price. Lots to like about this restaurant, certainly the best in Braintree. I'll be returning.

Pie is to die for, could of had more staff working. Overall excellent food and friendly staff. We would return. Nice beers very friendly with my son

Amazing meal as always, fifth time being here for a Sunday lunch, wouldn’t bother going anywhere else if I’m honest. Only thing I would say, I had the bread and butter pudding for dessert (which was amazing) but the custard that was served with it had curdled. Apart from that the meal was incredible.

Overall a very pleasant evening, but disappointed not to be offered the Midweek Menu on a Wednesday - was then advised it verbally, but the saving wasn't applied to my bill. Bottle of Prosecco extremely expensive - £28.00 is just too much. Food and staff though very good.

We had a al ovely meal and service - very accommodating for us and our baby. The atmosphere in is always very relaxed and eclectic.

Delicious home made food, delightful helpful staff, nice atmosphere. I had fish and chips, lovely crispy batter, real chips and a delicious tartar sauce with dill added for a nice touch. My husband had braised beef pie. The smoky flavour of the beef was very good. Can't wait for a return visit.

As always we were made to feel welcome and enjoyed a fantastic meal chosen from the new menu. The starter, main and desserts were all very tasty indeed. Thanks to Rob and all the staff.

Our first time at the Chophouse. We ate an excellent three course meal. The service was the pleasant and non intrusive. We will certainly eat at the Chophouse again.

Absolutely b****y wonderful! Fantastic food, incredible understanding of flavours, simple yet extremely effective menu and the attention to detail was second to none. Rob serving certainly knew his food and helped us in our choice as well as delivering the most awesome espresso Martini cocktail. We will be back!! And thank you for making husbands 50th birthday evening a delightful time. Certainly earned their AA Rosette!

Lovely meal, in a restaurant with a great atmosphere. It was very busy but the food was all very tasty and well presented. The staff were very professional and friendly. Not a cheap eat but worth the extra for the good quality food.

Lovely early afternoon lunch, just the right amount of food to enjoy without filling us up too much. The usual attentive service without being too intrusive and all topped up with lovely glass of red wine - cheers :)

This is our restaurant of choice no matter what day it is, but Sunday roast here is something else! Amazing food, amazingly presented (always), with amazing staff, that makes this restaurant so special.
