For over ten years, Cottage Tandoori has been a local hotspot in the heart of beautiful Walkden, north of Worsley in Greater Manchester’s City of Salford. Situated on Manchester Road, just near St. Paul’s Church and with plenty of bus connections nearby, the Indian restaurant is beloved for its impressively large menu, as well as its selection of delicious ales on tap. Open until midnight every day, locals have plenty of time to come in and sample the restaurant’s legendary curries.
Food was excellent as always, tasty and flavoured to perfection
Like the name suggests, Cottage Tandoori is housed in a lovely cottage on Walkden’s Manchester Road, just across from Walkden Medical Centre. As a fully licensed bar, the Indian restaurant is packed of regulars from the Worsley area who love a good pint of ale as much as they love a perfectly seasoned curry. Winners of two runner-up medals in the City of Salford Curry Competition, the staff at Cottage Tandoori is proud of the restaurant’s success, which is apparent through their friendly manner and caring service.
While Walkden’s Cottage Tandoori is the perfect restaurant for Indian takeaway (a popular option for more distant Worsley and City of Salford locals), dining in can be a real treat, too. The interior is warm and welcoming, and the staff is always smiling and willing to make suggestions. The vegetarian items at Cottage Tandoori are especially beloved, with favourites being the garlic mushroom (a mushroom stuffed with garlic and deep fried in a delectable batter) and the always-popular vegetable pakora. Order up a pint of ale and chat away on your smartphone if you choose – Cottage Tandoori has an excellent Wi-Fi connection.
