As always our local eating place was good and so pleased to get a table just before Christmas - a couple of negatives though if we may..... the carrots had been forgotten and came (lovely) half way through our main course and sadly there was a table next to ours that was VERY noisy until I think the penny dropped as to how noisy they were! We actually could not hear each other for the first part of our visit. Perhaps a word about being aware of other people around you might have helped? Thanks though. Good grub and great to be able to walk down there.

The atmosphere is always good, the food is even better. There’s so few places that the chef comes out to make sure that everything is to your satisfaction.

I have been here several times and my experience is always a good one. It’s different to most pubs and they vary the menu which is great and the food is freshly cooked. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Fabulous food as always - imaginative, wholesome & exquisitely cooked. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming with beautiful choice of colours & decor. Staff exceptional. We are lucky indeed to have the exceptional talents of the owners in our neck of the woods!

What a great restaurant, the food was sensational especially the Sunday Roast Beef with tasty veg, great potatoes and yorkie. Great friendly Staff.

Not very attentive service, there was a Christmas party upstairs so only two staff. Sitting at a table near the door, door did not have a closer on so was always left open, so we got up the close the door around 50 times! Table was not cleared of glasses, couldn't get fresh glasses when we got a new bottle of wine red v white, dismissive but the food was good!

Two steaks were served almost cold and once they were taken back, the answer was to put them on very hot plates - which wasn’t the right approach. Disappointing as all other times the food has been excellent. There was a different chef on though. Still recommend it highly.

My second visit - for breakfast, having previously popped in for lunch - and it was an equally delightful experience. Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, and an upbeat and warm atmosphere. Recommended.

We were not as happy as we normally are with the service staff, the manager was very friendly and helpful, so definitely go again. Sometimes the is a hiccup with anything, but on the whole this restaurant is very friendly, food is very well presented atmosphere so relaxing. I will always come back again

The food was great, tasty and portion sizes not too big. An inventive menu beautifully cooked. The staff were great with lots of smiles, prompt but not rushed. My guests loved the place!

There are 3 parts to going out. Food, service and ambience. Unfortunately we felt left down on 2 of those parts. Front of house need to be more knowledgable on the menu. Upstairs had no ambience. Food was good.

We arrived towards the end of the lunch session and the restaurant was full of people finishing their meals. I love the 'open' kitchen and we could see ours being prepared. Very tasty food and relaxed surroundings.
