Good welcome, treated my Dad with respect, concerned about his mobility but without being condescending. Good service and very tasty food - worth the expense.

The staff spent most of the time we were eating in the dining room rearranging chairs and tables for a large party of people very noisy and spoilt our meal . The soup I had was lovely the beef burger not cooked enough . My husbands steak was very nice we didn't have a dessert as we felt in the way .

Very nicely refurbished bar and restaurant. Made up of a series of different rooms with 4 or 5 tables in each - makes for a nice cosy, intimate atmosphere. Also has an outdoor terrace at the rear. Service excellent and food very good at reasonable prices. Plenty of choice on the menu with some specials on the board. Fast becoming one of the most popular eateries in Lincoln. I would certainly recommend it for any occasion.

Great venue, we'd only had a drink here before but decided to try the food on a Saturday night with friends. Really glad we did, each dish was fantastic and we all really enjoyed it. Staff really friendly and we thought it was good value. We'll certainly eat here again.

Comfortable, hospitable, staff pleasant and helpful, with the menu being restricted due to high volume of lunchtime trade, the quality of food and ambience of restaurants very good.

Arrived slightly late due to traffic, but table was ready and we were shown to it on our arrival. Good choice on the menu and food arrived soon after it was ordered. The food was really good and tasty. Serving staff very attentive and regularly checked on us to see if we had any further requirements.

Excellent meal yesterday evening. From the ease of booking via quandoo, the warm welcome, the imaginative use of simple ingredients to create interesting dishes and fantastic service from Chelsea and Annie. Already booked to go again. Well done and keep it up.

We arrived early but were still shown straight to our table. It was very busy and there didn't seem to be enough bar staff to cope with bar customers and restaurant arrivals. The decor is cosy and atmospheric; in keeping with the age of the building. The atmosphere was good although I'm not a fan of children in pubs; there was a lot of screaming and crying which ruined the ambience the management are trying to create. The service was attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent although the Sunday roast was too potato and carb heavy, with too little veg. Will definitely go back both to eat and drink

Lovely atmosphere food was delicious normally would have main and pudding but the starters sounded yummy to so had a starter and a main buy did r have room for a pudding. The portion size is great and the what you pay is worth it.

Friendly, kind and helpful staff and delicious food. We had two evening meals here with family, one with a toddler, and both times the food was good and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a relaxed time. I highly recommend them.

Lovely food. Good value. Service patchy. Shown to table not given menus, wasn't asked for drinks order. Had to ask twice for water. Had to ask at bar where the specials board was as this wasn't mentioned when menus were given.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the best evening out we've had in Lincoln. The waitress spilt a full pint of Shandy over my husband before we'd even ordered our meals. She was very sorry, and I appreciate accidents do happen, but he had to sit in a wet shirt and jeans all evening. Two of the meals were not very hot, and I know we probably should have sent them back. The desserts were delicious, and it was lovely to sit outside for a drink afterwards, once we'd found a table that wasn't wobbling.

Food was excellent, however, service was very poor we had to wait over 40 minutes for our main course which we then had to rush as we were going to an event at the Assembly Rooms.

A warm & friendly welcome before being taken through to our table where we were left to browse the Sunday lunch menu. The food and the service were very good and my guests asked when we could return!

Staff were very accommodating when I arrived with an extra person in my party however, service was slow. We were seated in the bar rather than restaurant area and it felt as though we were forgotten about. It was 20 minutes before we had our drinks orders taken, we would have gone to the bar ourselves but on a Thursday night there was only 1 member of staff behind the bar and she was clearly very busy. Food arrived after a reasonable amount of time, our party had pasta, steak, beef pot and the duck special which everybody agreed the food was average. Another 20 minute wait for the table to be cleared during which time we did decide to go to the bar ourselves. For afters we had chocolate tort, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and a cheese board which everyone really enjoyed. It was definitely the best part of the meal! The table was cleared a bit quicker this tine but there was no offer of more drinks / coffees or the bill! So it was back to the bar again to settle up. Over all, not the best night I've had in the Duke William but it wouldn't stop me from going back because when it's good, it's really good!

The atmosphere in the Duke William is very good. Buzzing but not noisy. The food was delicious and well presented. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. However, the small bottles of prosecco are very expensive, about £7:50 for a glass. Otherwise, lovely experience.
