Second time here and equally as impressive as my first visit. Service and food are top notch. Definitely plan on making a few more visits here in the coming months.
Good, simple food in deceptively large portions, a pretty good wine selection, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the environment was clean and cosy.
Great food. Loved the burger and service. My only grumble is an operational one that you can order the food from the restaurant when down in the pub 'The Rising Sun' (and have whatever pub beverages they sell) but when up in the restaurant you can only choose set drinks from their menu which only includes two beers and the rest is wine and cocktails. Would be good to make it reciprocal between the two.
The food was very tasty. Classic tunes were playing all night, they had me bopping in my chair. Lovely ambiance and lighting. Would go back
A great lunch option. Hearty meals. Good number of options for american-style cuisine (from healthy salad and tuna to fried chicken with waffles). Attentive service.
Really nice restaurant! We really enjoyed the drinks and the food was great!
Had an absolutely lovely evening and meal in The Fat Bear. The food was great, the service perfect- just a fantastic wee place. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous food and a nice atmosphere. The portions were sizeable and tasted terrific, so I’m not sure there’s much more to say, aside from that!
Absolutely incredible as always, with ridiculously good wine pairings. Rosé really does goes well with fried chicken. Thank you for introducing us to Coole Swan as well.
We had lunch here during the week. Really enjoyed the cocktails, starters and our mains. quite a small restaurant but great atmosphere with great music.
It was okay. Service was nice. Really rowdy office party spoiled things a bit. Restaurant kept us plied with free drinks to help take the edge off. But the food was a let down
so good that this is a return visit. the food is good, service friendly and the atmosphere was good too.
Amazing. Loved it. Highly recommend. Book for my team and everyone had a great time. Quality of food was extremely high and lovely service too.
Excellent food nice staff great experience. I would definitely go back to this please again. This restaurant was perfect for a catch up with my friends and could also be perfect for a couple night out
Excellent food, service and ambience. I even liked the fact that the tables were lined up in such a way that patrons could move about without knocking into the staff! The only I'm not giving it a score of 6 was that the restroom has a ridiculously low ceiling and I hit my head.
Hidden gem, captures essence of Cajun cooking, a rare treat this side of the Atlantic. Gumbo terrific and temple like, spinach dip tastes of southern home through and through.
Excellent food and service. Will return in the future. Will recommend to family, friends and colleagues also. Cosy atmosphere. Near to transport links. Great place.
I have been wanting to try this place for ages and it didn't disappoint! The food was really tasty, the cocktails were particularly delicious, the ambiance was lovely and the service was great. Will definitely be going back.
Pleasant meal but were not told had the table for an allocated time so did not appreciate being told to vacate the table for the next guests
Food was great, felt like you were sat in someone's house more than a restaurant which gave it a real home cooked personal feel. Staff were very pleasant. Recommend the Gumbo.
It is not easy to find but has Very good environment. The food is OK and the service is fine. Worth a try and it is not that busy.
Great American food and good service, we really enjoyed it. Cute cozy little ventue as well. Good location, close to St Paul’s. Can definitely recommend it.
Gareth treats you like he is hosting you in his home. Exceptional. Watch out for the wonderful variety of runs and absinthe. Two is too many. Three is not enough.
Really nice food, and a very pleasant atmosphere - having traveled throughout America quite a bit the food was definitely a match. a touch pricey for that style of food - but hey it's the heart of London so nothings cheap especially when it's good.
The food wasn’t good. It was overpriced and tasted like something I could make at home myself. The staff were ok. Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back. I must admit when I first arrived I felt quite awkward. I walked in being the only one there and all the staff were being very load talking amongst themselves. Even heard some of them swearing. Just seemed very unprofessional.
Excellent food, service and value for money. It is tucked away so you have to know it is there. Book to avoid disappointment as it does get busy...
Catches you off guard as you enter via the side of a busy City pub, decor was classic and smart, the food was simple - but restaurants can be quite excellent when focusing on the simple things and doing it well, and that is exactly what happens at The Fat Bear. The buffalo wings were faultless, the best I’ve had. The chicken sandwich boasted the biggest piece of fried chicken I had ever seen, despite its size it was tender throughout, accompanied with perfectly cooked fries. As my guest added, when your main course was excellent, you felt compelled to taste one of the puddings, and the Oreo cheesecake was an absolute dream. Excellent restaurant in an area full of not so great restaurants.
Good hearty food and decent value for being in the city. Would go again. The fried chicken was a decent portion but the waffles were a little small
Loved it. A small, intim place with greate service and good food. The bartender was world class and we had a great time. A place to go.
Lovely food and good service in a great looking cosy restaurant with a good atmosphere & good music. Would definitely return for another visit and to try another dish of authentic Southern comfort food.
It was great. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. The food was excellent and will definitely recommend to friends and family hen they come to London.
Good value for money, a modest menu but plenty of choice. Quiet on day of visit, but service with appropriate and not pushy without long waits.
Good Food, very large portions. I had the gumbo and it was all very flavourful. Others had the chicken and waffle with sriracha maple syrup, that looked really good.
Our 4th visit to the Fat Bear. Great fried chicken. I'm not keen on brioche buns so that part of the meal didnt get eaten. Great service . Very friendly but not intrusive waiting staff. Nice atmosphere as well.
We wereld freeling Very welcome @ the fat bear. The children thought that service was Very friendly andere the food Very taste. We would Come again!
Excellent restaurant. Cornbread and chicken are awesome ! Good drinks, very nice staff. We will get back to this restaurant next time we visit London from Canada !
Food was lovely and service was great! Best spinach dip ever tasted! The overall atmosphere was really good too! The sauce on the chicken burger was a bit on the hot side though!
Had a great time at The Fat Bear, came here for our anniversary and would happily come again, American food done properly, with lovely service. Drinks menu is extremely good, and paired with amazing food.
I stopped by The Fat Bear for dinner. Service and food was excellent. I'm from the south, and the food here tastes better than my family's cooking. I highly recommend.
Super tasty southern American food, we had the shared fried chicken platter also added on the catfish. Had some great cocktails, tell the barman what you like and bingo!
