Nice food, friendly welcome. Good menu. But service was slow even though they didn't seem terribly busy. Had to repeatedly ask for water top up, cutlery, sauce etc.

Good service, food excellent except for lamb being luke warm. Given the worst table in the place, felt others got preferential treatment. Long wait for main course.

Well presented food, good portion size and it tasted great as well! Staff / landlord friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Perfect country pub ideal for a quick tea or even a special occasion. The early bird is especially good value.

Had a fabulous meal. Service faultless, friendly staff. Highly recommend beef wellington and daube of beef. We were caught out by "beast from the east" and two of the staff one called Maggie and another lovely young lady gave us a lift home in their own cars when we were unable to get taxis and the bus had stopped running. Thank you so much 😊

Beautiful food and a great atmosphere..... not too busy tonight so we didn’t feel we needed to vacate for the later diners. Overall a very lovely evening.

Great food plus friendly service. Sunday roast with plenty of veg & large Yorkshire pudding. Leave room for sticky toffee pudding. Always consistent. Pleny of choice

On a cold evening we received a very friendly greeting with friendly service throughout the evening. Good choice of food - ours was delicious. Can only recommend. We will definitely be eating here again.

The food is OK. Reasonable pub grub. Not cheap though. Bottle of Prosecco very expensive for an average pub at £26. They crammed all diners into one area which is not conducive to private conversation.

The food was excellent and service great. My only disappointment was that I didn’t get any extra vegetables with my daube beef only what was on the plate

We had a great time tonight at the Fox and Hounds. The food was delicious! Care was taken to a make sure that all the food alergies in our arty of 7 were well catered for! Good job F & H!! The new menu is great, the swordfish is perfection! and a great addition to the menu!

5 of us went for dinner, excellent food and service, good choices for gluten free starters and main courses, although a wider selection of GF puddings would have scored this a 6.

A lovely birthday evening. The food was excellent, together with the service. Nothing was too much trouble. It is a relaxing setting and I could not recommend it highly enough. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you

Great home cooked food, especially Sunday roast. Ran out of some meats but that’s a sign of the restaurant’s popularity. The rare beef was amazing.

A pleasant country pub restaurant with a traditional gastro-pub menu and pleasant local staff. Service can be a bit slow at busy times, but most of the food appears to be cooked to order. We will be going back!

Delicious food and always super friendly very attentive service - Well worth a visit. The Risotto was a triumph and the Celeriac Soup was superb.

we were greeted by frendly helpful staff, the service was at a good speed, we would off enjoyed more vegetables, but overall we enjoyed the meal

We have had some superb meals here but last Friday was dire and we will not go again I am afraid - the duck special starter was fatty and smacked of a cheap option - we had rib eye which was most unpleasant overly seasoned to mask the poor quality of the meat - we could not be bothered to complain but both of us suffered after effects from it - such a shame

Excellent, personable service with very good quality food. I appreciate the additional effort made to ensure our clients and I were finished with the meal ready for a meeting.

Very friendly, the food was good. I had the lamb shank and my husband had beef off the early bird menu. I am on a low carb diet and they were great about swapping the side dishes for me. The warm brownie was just right, moist topped with vanilla ice cream

Really like this pub, it has a lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere. A lovely selection of lager, ales and wine to choose from. The food menu is even better, I could of had anything from the menu. Decided on the pate followed by fish pie, both of which were delicious. The service couldn't of been better. Unfortunately we were the only 2 people in the whole pub so it did feel a little strange! Will be back.

Sunday lunch visit: The food was beautiful (the tenderest rare roast beef) and the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Staff really friendly & welcmong. Food was delicious and excellent quality. Couldn’t fault it. The rosemary & sea salt bread was divine. The place could probably do with a little updating.

The visit to The Fox and Hounds was an excellent experience.Freindly staff lovely surroundings, Our lunch was beautifully presented and delicious to the palette. There was a good choice of dishes on the menu and not over priced. Certainly worth a return visit.

Staff very welcoming and the food was fabulous between us we had fish, steak, mussels and salmon and there were no complaints the added touch of the bread and sweet taster was really good

Had the first bad experience I've ever had at the fox and hounds and will sadly not return.

We have visited on numerous occasions and are never disappointed. Staff very friendly and welcoming, food always great and very tasty. We had the early bird menu which is good value for money. You always get a chunk of specialty bread while you wait for your order to arrive. We had the mussels as a starter and the daily pie, which was lamb. It was all very good. We were too full for a dessert. Would always recommend a visit.

As always a lovely meal. Gorgeous food- best chips anywhere! Food is always piping hot, beautifully served and generous portions. The staff were as ever attentive and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

Great food, good prices, friendly staff, comfortable surroundings. Particularly like the smaller portions menu. The Fox can always be relied on for quality food at a fair price.

Very noisy. Too many tables too close together. Food good but service not impressive. Probably understaffed. Early Bird deal is good value. Might be better when pre-Christmas Rush is over.

Fantastic food and friendly staff. Car parking space was available, restaurant was warm and comfortable on a very cold and snowy day. Most importantly we were not rushed after completing our meal.
