The Fox & Hounds at Walton

As always the Fox & Hounds - Walton for Sunday lunch is one of the best venues providing great food. the staff are always excellent and polite often with little friendly and good humoured banter. We have dined at Walton possibly 12 times or more in the past years and the standards never drop. My brother and his wife when visiting Wetherby look forward to their Sunday lunch at the F&H' s. I am not sure whether they come to see us or dine at this lovely well ran establishment. Best regards and keep up the good work.

Fantastic meal. my father (91) said the two courses he had (fish stew and Yorkshire (Eton) Mess) was the best meal he had ever had! My mussels followed by fish platter we too much for me but very good.

Fantastic food. My steak was like butter. Our only complaint would be that the service was a little slow. In defence though I think that they were much busier than they had expected on a Thursday night. The staff were working flat out.

Not up to your normal standard. We were next to an extremely noisy table, although there was plenty of room elsewhere. Service at some times was very slow. Tempora prawns batter too heavy, very small portion of pork, steak was tough, very long wait for desert.

I have been here on many occasions and it never disappoints Good wine, great food,and friendly staff in a country pub setting nothing fancy inside just good food

Very Good Value with good on line booking for a group of three . All of us enjoyed it and we will defiantly book again .

Disappointed last couple of times of eating here after so many delicious meals and recommending our friends, the food hasn't been as good, hopefully an improvement on it`s way, staff always pleasant

Excellent food as usual. Daube of beef and sirloin steak were outstanding. We have eaten here many times and usually the service is very prompt but on this occasion we had a long wait to order food as it was very busy.

very good value food on the early bird. Black pudding excellent! Would and have recommended this place to friends. Not my first visit and definitely not the last!

Wonderful friendly staff. My partner is Gluten free and a special effort is always made to accommodate him. Fresh bread before your meal is an added bonus. The meal was brought out timely, all 3 courses and the food is fresh and wholesome. The Yorkshire pudding was fantastic. Nice gravy and fresh veg.

Sunday lunch with my friend. It was my friend's first visit to The Fox and Hounds and she loved the pub and it's beautiful setting in the village. The food was delicious and the service was very good.

The experience was lovely today at the Fox and hounds. However, to go above and beyond the party would of enjoyed a free pudding !!

Small and cosy, can be noisy if many in the adjacent snug bar at the same time, but generally great for that beginning of the weekend feeling

Good service, and friendly staff. Food average, not memorable. The chairs are very uncomfortable, some cushions would help enormously. Also tables are crammed together somewhat.

Great food and service as usual. Early bird menu excellent value and quality. I would recommend the venue for lunch, evening meals and Sunday lunch.

Excellent food, service , and atmosphere. A portion of salmon was prepared for one of us as the main course ; this is not on the menu but reserved especially as the person has limited choice of food

Warm welcome as always. Roast pork tremendous with good selection of well cooked veg although yorkshire puds just a little too firm. Always nice to be proactively offered extra gravy and roasties . Good value.

The food was amazing; fresh, hearty, and tickle-your-buds-tasty! The service was also a delight; friendly, efficient, and all done with a dollop of Yorkshire charm.Likewise atmosphere was both warm and relaxed. The questions is not if we will be returning, but when. My thanks to the whole team!

Excellent food with exceptional service. Great choice of local products and good choice of wine. Lovely pub with a nice cosy friendly atmosphere. Booked here as a stop on a long journey south and wish we'd had more time to try the amazing looking deserts. Will 100% return.

Booking our reservation on line was simple, table was ready at the time we asked. Staff polite and helpful, the food was extremely good, the assiette a must!!

Hi, nice old pub, not far from A1, went for lunch before Wetherby Races. Food was really good (Beef Daube for main which was really tender and tasty, then fab crumble and custard, ) and staff very helpful.

Very busy on a Sunday, quite noisy and some choices not available by 2.30. However, I do understand that this is because everything is freshly prepared. Different experience during week when more relaxed. Food very good, service efficient and friendly. Would return but would go earlier if a Sunday.

Unfortunately two of the meals, sausages, were not brilliant. We should have complained but the friends we were with did not want to make a fuss.

A group of 5 of us had lunch here on a weekday. Although we chose different meals, we all enjoyed them. One of the party's favourites was the Black Pudding starter, but I enjoyed the Beef Daube. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was delicious too! The host was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her. We will definitely go back.

Traditional pub food at a reasonable price. We have been several times now and the food has always been delicious. Excellent Sunday lunch, meat cooked how it should be. Needs a bit of a revamp inside. Lovely staff, good service. Don't hesitate.

What an amazing find. Wonderful waitress service. My partner is gluten free and they made him fresh gluten free bread and Gluten free onion rings. The steak was amazing and the beef burgers were also amazing. We ordered small portions from the evening special menu and couldn't finish the servings were very generous. Will definitely eat here again.

We stopped off on a journey north - very easy to get too from the A1. We had pre-booked so our table was ready - Very friendly staff, good quality beers. Very varied menu, particularly for vegetarians. The venue was busy so we had to wait a little while for our starters but the warm home made bread and oil / basmatic dip made up for it. Both my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were unfortunately to full to take advantage of the sweet menu! All in all, a very enjoyable experience - would definitely recommend !

We enjoyed a very nice meal which was well presented. This is a traditional country pub which now provides good food with a very relaxed welcoming service.

Couldn't fault the meal at all. The pub was very busy when we went creating a lovely country pub atmosphere. Amazing food and the service is very good both friendly, attentive and professional. They cannot do enough for you. You are able to request extras of vegatbles or mash for example which is also very good. The value for money is amazing I would pay a lot more for a meal of this standard. I'd say it's the best for Sunday lunch and pub food in the area consistantly.

Great service and the food was very good. I would of loved a pudding but I was so full. Beer was spot on. We will be going back very soon. Might have the £10 meal then get a pudding.
