What an amazing find. Wonderful waitress service. My partner is gluten free and they made him fresh gluten free bread and Gluten free onion rings. The steak was amazing and the beef burgers were also amazing. We ordered small portions from the evening special menu and couldn't finish the servings were very generous. Will definitely eat here again.

We stopped off on a journey north - very easy to get too from the A1. We had pre-booked so our table was ready - Very friendly staff, good quality beers. Very varied menu, particularly for vegetarians. The venue was busy so we had to wait a little while for our starters but the warm home made bread and oil / basmatic dip made up for it. Both my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were unfortunately to full to take advantage of the sweet menu! All in all, a very enjoyable experience - would definitely recommend !

We enjoyed a very nice meal which was well presented. This is a traditional country pub which now provides good food with a very relaxed welcoming service.

Visited with friends tonight, and the whole evening was excellent as usual, good, interesting food well cooked and nicely presented and good service. Looking forward to our next visit.

Couldn't fault the meal at all. The pub was very busy when we went creating a lovely country pub atmosphere. Amazing food and the service is very good both friendly, attentive and professional. They cannot do enough for you. You are able to request extras of vegatbles or mash for example which is also very good. The value for money is amazing I would pay a lot more for a meal of this standard. I'd say it's the best for Sunday lunch and pub food in the area consistantly.

Great service and the food was very good. I would of loved a pudding but I was so full. Beer was spot on. We will be going back very soon. Might have the £10 meal then get a pudding.

Made very welcome on arrival. Friendly staff, nothing a problem. Food excellent, well worth a visit. Even though it was very busy, you weren't rushed at all.

A lovely place to meet up with my sister, being about half way between our homes. Good atmosphere, friendly service and tasty food. More included vegetables with the main courses would have been good. It was a bit of a squeeze to get between tables to my seat though.

Very good food and large portions, you can ask for more vegetables and gravy if required but we did not need more as there was plenty. Will definitely pay this restaurant a visit again!

Superb food. Beef en daube and steak outstanding. Starters also excellent inc scallops, tempura prawns and mussels. Fox and Hounds provides an unfailingly great meal! Service just a little slow initially due to a large party being in, but once we got started it was prompt and friendly as ever.

We had a great Sunday lunch, beautifully cooked and tasty rare roast beef, and soft flavoursome roast chicken with well cooked veg and lovely tasty gravy. Good value too.

Ordered from " lunch" menu, starters excellent, no veg with pork main. Weren't advised to order side dish. Fish excellent. Felt rushed near 3pm closure.

Great evening. Original home-made black pudding was my personal highlight, but all courses were excellent. They serve many wines in half bottles which was most welcome.

Good food friendly service and nice atmosphere. A great place for good food at reasonable prices. The menu has a good blend of fish, seafood and meat dishes as well as gluten free and vegetarian options. All ages can enjoy this pub restaurant.

Attentive staff but left you room and time if you wanted a social evening with friends. Food was good, different, not too much which is how I like it. Price was very competitive. Only minor problem was tempura prawns should have been drained or blotted as still carrying too much oil for my taste.

Lovely atmosphere and very good service. The choice of food on the early bird menu was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening . Will be back again very soon

Another great visit to the Fox and Hounds! Excellent food, 5 of us had a variety of Starters Mains and Desserts and were not disappointed in anything.

I have been going to the fox for over 12 years and every time it just gets better. The staff are friendly and very efficient and the menu is just amazing with lots of choice and local produce used too. I would not hesitate in recommending you try this fabulous place.

Booked for Sunday lunch. Received an enthusiastic and very friendly welcome. Asked to change tables away from very young children and were accommodated with no problem. The food and service were first class throughout and we will definitely be back for more.

Great food in a congenial atmosphere with friendly staff. The staff were attentive and efficient and we did not feel hurried although we were the first to arrive and the last to leave. Full marks.

The food and service are always good. Just one criticism....the roasted tomatoes served with the pesto haddock, could have been riper....as they tasted sour 😳

A cosy place with a warm friendly welcome, the food is excellent, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We, as a family have visited many times and plan to visit many more.
