Very pleasant. Comfortable with a good atmosphere. Food good except my sirloin steak was, on this occasion, below par. Last steak I had there was superb. Would not hesitate to go back.

Proper country pub, great atmosphere, food and service. Visited for Sunday lunch with a group of friends and would definitely recommend to anyone. The roast beef was excellent.

Been here many times for lunch and the food and service are always first class. The staff are so friendly and pull out all the stops to make you feel welcome.

A very popular pub and another excellent meal. Advise to book as it gets busy. We go for the early bird menu which is great value and a bit less busy.... Especially if dining with children.

Beautiful place, Landlord bitter was a great well kept pint, our party had steak pie which was very hearty and full of lean steak, aubergine lasagna which was tasty and filling, the sirloin steak and the burger were both fab, the chips crunchy, and the service attentive. Can't fault it, will be back

Hi, visited recently. Received excellent service. we needed to move tables. it was not a problem. The sweet potato risotto was delicious. I ordered it as a starter, but wished I had had it as a main course. Cooked beautifully. Friendly and efficient staff. Thanks for another excellent experience.

Visited Friday evening to enjoy the excellent value early bird menu - fantastic value and a well cooked tasty meal. Only negative was a longer wait than usual due to some double bookings caused by the internet!

Outstanding food, friendly service and amazing value for money. All 8 of us were spoilt for choice with the early bird menu. The Fox and Hounds is my no.1 local choice for eating out

Nice welcome went for early bird but was not given the menu so ordered off the main menu.We had starter,main,and sweet.Looked like they were under staffed as only 1 in resturant although it was early tue night and was not all that busy counted 15 people eating.The chap serving us was very pleasant but looked a bit stressed lost count how many times i heard him say sorry about that.The food was very nice, portions could be bigger as we were on the main menu,early bird says they serve smaller portions but looked same size to me just not as much chioce.Bill was £63 so not cheap for 2.

Ate from the Early Bird menu which gives 2 corsets for £10. Very good value and although called smaller portions we all found the portion size to be just enough to the enable you to have a pudding. Something which is always popular with my family

WeI really enjoyed our meal here. The staff are very attentive and try to accommodate whatever you need and are never pushy. The food is excellent and consistent in its quality. I would definately recommend this place.

Booking was easy and effective. Catered well for my dietary needs. Excellent food and cheerful staff. A great evening. A very good atmosphere in the venue.

This is my 3rd visit is the last 6 weeks and i have yet to be disappointed. The foods is really good, the staff are extremely friendly. Cant wait to return

As ever, lovely food in a great warm atmosphere, unpressured by staff. Totally relaxing. What more could you want on a dark and cold January evening?

This is the best restaurant for Sunday lunch. The food is delicious and the service excellent. Evening meals also very good. The puddings are homemade and tasty. I can highly recommend.

Service was slightly slow initially but acknowledged and apologised for by management when we paid the bill.l Meal was very good and we will go back.

There were three of us and it was our first visit there. The setting was very pleasant and the staff were very friendly. The service was first class, and the food was superb. Excellent lunch with very friendly and helpful service. Good menu choices with prices reasonable for the quality, although a portion of vegetables could be included rather than being an extra.

The black pudding, belly pork and daube of beef were all outstanding. The spicy bread was great too. The dining experience was quiet and comfortable. We will be back!

Excellent food just could have done with more veg and potatoes, a small amount to be shared with 3. Considering the fantastic quality of the food it just seemed a shame to scrimp on these itemx. Would highly recommend and will certainly revisit

The food was excellent and beautifully cooked. Classic, unfussy dishes. The service and welcome were both friendly and the ambiance was relaxed. A very enjoyable evening.

greeted nicely given the choice of different tables drink order taken then food order fresh bread brought with a balsamic and oil dipping very nice, had choice of early bird menu or main menu. food very taste and nicely presented staff very friendly.

Great friendly staff, as always! Not a six because the menu has changed and I feel it's a bit limited. I've had the prawns as a starter for so long I just see it as a starter! The mussels, I'm not keen on. I miss the fish pie! And the chips were different this time... not sure if they were frozen??? Still love the atmosphere... relaxed and very friendly.

Lovely Sunday lunch! Very nice staff and everything home cooked, would highly recommend , especially the roast beef and sticky toffee pudding, wish I'd had room for a starter!

As always great food and great service. We love the Sunday lunch here, always fresh veg, tender meat and a great home made Yorkshire pudding.
