Great food. Lovely staff and service. Would recommend and definitely be visiting again. Good atmosphere and booked only a few hours before but quick and easy to use.

This is a great restaurant. The friendly staff were very accommodating, the food was amazing, I had the roast beef, I would highly recommend this place.

Lovely bar, excellent food and brilliant band.. Staff exceptional and very friendly. Would recommend for anyone and will be visiting again soon. Advisable to book as it gets very busy.

Had a lovely Sunday Roast here last weekend with a party of 7 including a toddler. The staff were amazing! Couldn't do enough for us, really attentive and great with the 1 yr old. 3 courses, wine, cocktails...all great and the atmosphere is lovely too. Will definitely be returning!

Great staff, very attentive. Food was very good. I can recommend the Beef Hash with poached egg starter and the steaks had for main course were excellent. A chilled out evening with friends.

Friendly service, cracking Sunday lunch. Great veg, crispy Yorkshire pud, extra gravy in a jug with it and a cauliflower cheese. Warm atmosphere and dog friendly.

Fantastic food, service and attention to detail for our Christmas works party. We always celebrate here and the staff are so lovely . Great service with a smile and an easy place to be.

Not a restaurant downstairs on a Friday night. Wish they’d told me when I booked as I’d have gone elsewhere. Really unenjoyable evening, with disappointing food. Staff couldn’t care less. Will never eat here again!!!!

A great bar/restaurant serving a great selection of beers and food

Great food and a good atmosphere, I come here often for the food! You could pick anything from the menu and most probably it'll be delicious.

The food in here was great and the prices were decent. I thought the toilets downstairs smelled quite badly and if I had been seated there then I would not have been happy. As it was, going to the toilet was an unpleasant experience with the smell combined with the fact that, on my first trip, the door to the cubicle wouldn't close as it was too big for the opening and on the second, there was no loo roll in the cubicle. The menu is quite small but the food was fab, with local ingredients being used. Service was friendly.

Food and service were excellent , we went with friends and they enjoyed it to. We don't have a dog but our friends do, they thought it was great that you could just pop in with your dog too.

Food good but limited choice and informed when attempting to order a dish with chicken thighs that it would take 20min, changed my order as was on a time limit however the order still took 15-20min. The General service was fine and waitress was pleasant and helpful my friends food was excellent and she booked a table for wkd.

We love your restaurant, but we loved the steak or game pies even more! Please can you pop a pie back on the menu? Thank you!

Excellent atmosphere, food and service. We very much enjoyed our first experience at the George Charles restaurant on Burton Rd. We will be visiting again soon :)

Excellent staff, very good food, nice atmosphere!! 4 adults and 1child. The waiter was really helpfull. Good desserts. Not so expensive. We will be back.

Service was slow as was so busy. Sunday lunch was ok but had had better at nearby pubs. Yorkshires, gravy and meat were nice. Not keen on the veg selection. I've had breakfast here in the past and that was really good.

Lovely atmosphere and food. You can tell it's the hub of west didsbury. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and accommodated our request to sit downstairs too.

Our third visit to the George Charles and it didn't disappoint. Lovely food. Great fish dishes, delicious lamb and excellent service as usual. We'll be back!

The service was good but the food was ordinary at best. It was style over substance, I'm afraid. I thought the George had common owners with the Lime Tree, which we rate highly, but unfortunately it failed to get anywhere near that standard. Although I hate to post negative reviews, in this case I would be less than honest if I didn't do so.

Amazing food, great friendly service. Unfortunately, really poor coffee. We still dream of the beef wellington we had a few months ago! Amazing- bring it back!

Lovely table set up. Spot on staff. Attentive but no overly. Quality food. Reasonable prices. What more could you want. Good low level music too!

Really good food, the pigs cheeks were particularly tasty. Melted in your mouth! Only downside was a lot of the mussels starter hadn't opened which suggested they could have done with another minute. main courses were delicious so we were more than satisfied with the food. restaurant area lacked atmosphere. we were the only ones eating at 7.30pm on a Friday night and as the dining area is downstairs from the pub it was extremely quiet. Maybe we just chose the wrong night/time but it did highlight the traffic to the toilets which are also downstairs. I suspect we wouldn't have noticed if a few more tables had been full. Overall though it was a good night and we will return.

Nice place however myself and a friend ordered the mushroom risotto and both agreed it was salty and the rice wasn't cooked and was starchy. Not much choice on the dessert front so ordered a decaf cappuccino which was lukewarm. To be fair to the waitress she could see by the amount of risotto left that we'd not liked it and charged just for one

We dined on a Saturday night and the restaurant was empty it was early 6.30. I not sure why as the décor is lovely and the service is good,the menu although not extensive was fine however 17.50 for cod was too high for me. I had risotto it was fine and my husband had the fish and chips which was enormous he enjoyed it. My only criticism if anything is that it lack atmosphere the dining room is in the basement therefore no outside view and no staff either unless they are delivering food they don't hang around.

Lovely food with some healthy choices not always available at other places. Service quick and friendly. Beautiful perfectly cooked cod fish and all food not swimming in fat like so many other places.

Went for a Sunday brunch. A couple of things off the menu which wasn't a great start. We waited 15 mins so we could order off the lunch menu. And then another 45mins for the food to arrive... fairly average food, slow service. Had to ask a couple of times for drinks as our server forgot. Others served ahead of us so maybe just a particularly unfortunate experience but not returning in a hurry

Great food but no one came to take our drinks order for 30 minutes when we managed to flag someone down- poor service. Seemed to be plenty of staff

Fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere and great service. Also competitively priced. Definitely recommend a visit. First time I visited and will be back again without a doubt.
