Had to chase up and ask for the drinks to be served to the table. Food was fine but we were staggered that the chunky chips that we ordered as a side, cost £5.50. They weren't proper chips. Staff were all friendly. It was just pretty expensive.

The only negative aspect of the meals was that the profiteroles were under whelming in that the dark chocolate sauce that the menu promised was not a sauce at all. It may once have been but it was both cold and solid. Should have been warm, melted and runny.

Food very average. Unfortunately will not return… staff noise did not make for a relax dining experience. Several crockery/glass breakages by staff in both bar and kitchen, followed up by noisy clean up. Staff thought breakages were funny!!! adding to more noise.

Medium quality lunch at a high price. Suggest families and young children should be seated in a separate area. The young lady who waited

We had a wonderful first visit to The Horse and Farrier. All staff were very welcoming and attentive. The waiters/waitresses were very good and knew the menu, if not they went off to ask. This was great for me as I am a Coeliac and require gluten free food. Your range of gluten free food was wonderful and gave me a great choice. The building was amazing with all the nooks and crannies. We enjoy the old features of the old building. We will certainly be returning the next time we stay at Whitbarrrow Village. Kind regards Stephanie Daubney

We both had fish and chops which is normally excellent. This time my fish was a bit overcooked and rubber. Very unusual. My husband's fish was fine

Really gorgeous pub with amazing food. We would have scored it higher but the experience was extremely rushed. We hadn’t even taken our coats off before we were asked what drink we wanted without being given a chance to look at the menu. Within seconds someone came to take our food order and we had not had chance to fully read the menu. The starters were out within a few minutes and literally as soon as I’d put my soup spoon down, our plates/dishes were taken away. Unbelievably the mains were brought out immediately after the starter. We all like efficient service but we felt the staff were watching over us which felt a little uncomfortable. If the service could be relaxed slightly then the overall experience would be amazing as the food is outstanding.

Excellent quality of all the food , and very attentive service We both enjoyed Sunday roast dinner , but the enormous portion sizes were surprising and somewhat intimidating to people who like to minimise waste and leave clean plates .Perhaps a reduction in portion size of 40 or 50 percent would ease apprehension , particularly for those with smaller appetites. Kind regards Keith.
