The pub is nice and clean. We did wait for over an hour for our food as something had gone wrong with one of the meals. We was rewarded with a free round of drinks which was a nice way of making up for the delay. The food is ok and slightly overpriced but the surroundings make up for it.

The service was very good ,the pub itself very pleasant with a good car park. The price of the beer was expensive and the price of the diet coke from the pump was unbelievable. The menu range was slightly disappointing and lacked imagination and the vegetables were limited. The pasta dish was very good and so was the sticky toffee pudding and the portion sizes were about right. The staff were very friendly and helpful .Overall a pleasant evening.

we went to The Horse & groom to celebrate my sons 17th birthday. The food was fabulous, service really good, and the restaurant was full, a lovely dining experience, the waitress kindly recommended a French White Wine which was fabulous. My daughter is vegetarian and her nut roast was very tasty.

All courses were excellent and were all good value for money. Would have liked a beer like Heineken, Stella or Kronenbourg on draught, but we would certainly recommend it for the food. Only downside was a mistake with the type of ice cream with the dessert which caused a 20 minute delay.

The service was great in particular our waitress. Our food was served hot and very tasty. Although it was very busy in the restaurant we didn’t have to wait. We will definitely be coming back.

Restaurant was full, had a nice buzz to it, Service was slow from front of house, the waitresses were running around like headless chickens, struggling to keep up. More staff was needed. The food was great we all love it. Big thank you to all the kitchen staff they deserve 5 stars

Nice food, a proper good Sunday Roast. Speedy service and food came out quickly too. Great atmosphere, nice and toasty inside as well which is nice a colder day.

Lucky we booked as it was pretty busy this afternoon. I expect it is most Sundays. Food and service were great with a pleasant, friendly atmosphere. Been meaning to eat here for ages and was not disappointed. It's not far from the Brayford Pool so if you fancy something more than the usual "chain" eateries there, give it a go. Many thanks

The pub is nice. Great starter but the main let it down. Had items missing and lacked some flavour. Won’t have that dish again next time.

The roast pork was delicious - it was a lovely roast dinner. But we found the room very crowded and noisy - some soft furnishings might help to reduce the noise, maybe. Also the car park was full and it took a while to find an alternative- this is a real difficulty for those who cannot walk far.

Cabbage too al dente and pies baked too long giving over hard crusts. The beef cheeks were excellent and the service & general atmosphere were good.

We were expecting a gastro pub, and it didn't quite hit the mark. However the service was good and the food, well cooked. Meals were not over expensive and we enjoyed what we ate.

Disappointed with the moules marineres, most of the shells were empty or just had very small mussels inside. This was meant to be served with a piece of chunky bread but what I actually got was a very thin dry slice of uncut bread. I’v had this dish there before and it was lovely, but this just spoilt my evening, it wasn’t enjoyable and then the coffee was lukewarm instead of piping hot.

We always have a good experience here, it never let's us down. Choice of food is good, especially as my husband is a vegetarian, he still has plenty of options. The food is always lovely and the staff are really friendly. The pub has a good atmosphere as well.

Food was lovely, service was prompt thank you. one tiny comment (not complaint) was a party member had the caesar salad and commented that the anchovies were very salty - could be a personal preference but thought would mention anyway. Didn't spoil the meal as they could be picked out.

Excellent food and nice atmosphere in busy pub. Slightly let down by our reserved table been squeezed in next to a large table of ladies celebrating and a partion glass wall by the door.
