The food was very nice but, I don’t understand the need to ensure customers who order a salad to leave hungry. To be honest that feedback can apply to all the dishes of the party, the food was lovely but the portions were child size.

As we have never walked out of a restaraunt before this must be, by definition, the worst dining experience of our 15 year marriage. The food was bland, poorly cooked and well beyond the chef’s level of competence. However, the main issue was that we were placed next to a large table of drunken partygoers swearing like troopers and discussing who was going to sleep with whom that evening. The staff ignored the revelry (which was so loud we could not hear each other over a two-man table). When we, and the couple next to us complained, we were offered other tables, albeit they were all within 10m of the party. We informed the waitress we were leaving and, embarrassed, left the restaraunt. The manager ran after us into the car park: I assumed to apologise. Instead she was seeking payment for the meals we had barely received. Very poor on every level. Weak food, shocking ambience and jaw droppingly substandard customer service.

Lovely pub/restaurant with Excell food. On our visit a rather rowdy table of 10 people arrived having pre-booked and started using completely inappropriate language. We made staff aware, but they already were as they could hear it, and dealt with them accordingly and they quietened down. The staff moved us to a quieter table and we enjoyed our meal and on receiving the bill the manager reduced each item we had ordered by 10% which was an acceptable gesture. We have been here numerous times and had our own wedding reception there and never had this out of experience before. Staff managed the inappropriate crowd well and we will have no hesitation and will be returning.

Good service, good food, nice atmosphere . Can fully recommend the Horse and Groom Lincoln. Nothing else to say really apart from, go and have a meal there

Lovely home cooked food. Friendly staff. beautifully decorated with a homely atmosphere. Good to be able to park there too. Well recommended, will definitely be back for another visit.

We visited Boxing Day lunch. The meal was average. i had the burger- it was quite plain wth just a few chips. I seem to remember coleslaw and onion rings when I’d previously had this. My husbands pie was also quite uninspiring, not a lot of filling or flavour. One of the waitresses was lovely but another bit bored and uninterested. I get the feeling the place needs a new manager- Who pays attention to detail.

Could not believe had run out off steak on xmas eve,very limited choice for my wife with food allergys,but nice resturant let down by .limited choice

Ideal on-site parking, warm welcome, efficient staff, lovely food. Only one issue-desserts are too small. Apple crumble was tasty, but small and the custard jug was from lilliput. Couldn't fault the rest. 😊 a lovely, cosy pub atmosphere.

Have enjoyed visiting this pub with my sons who live in Lincoln several times over the last few years. We now consider it our Lincoln local. Excellent good value food. Good range of drinks at the bar. Staff friendly and helpful and dealt with a minor menu issue efficiently.

We were meet with a friendly greeting. Our table was ready on time. We received good service. The food was excellent. We shall be returning in the very near future.

Very busy Christmas lunchtime, but Beth and her team made us feel very welcome and treated us as individuals not just another party booking. Looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent meal in a clean friendly pub. Good choices of beers available. Car park is easy to access. Very pleased and we will be returning.

Having waited 5 minutes to be seated as the table wasn’t ready we waited approximately half an hour to have our order taken where we were told there were no roast dinners which is information we should have been given 30 minutes prior when we were given the menus. The waitress was rude and ignored us when we tried to get her attention to take our order and we only had someone come over after asking twice

We celebrated my sons graduation last night with close family and friends 11 of us served with really tasty food no issues and quite quickly considering the restaurant looked full. The place had a lovely feel about it, friendly and laid back. Our waitress couldn’t have been more helpful Thank you

Excellent food and service. Always love going to the horse and groom. We took 8 people for lunch and pre ordered our food and only had to wait about 10 minutes before it was ready. Delicious food every time and great service.

Unfriendly staff. Pork chop was tough. No customer satisfaction. We have been to the Horse and Groom many times but after tonight’s visit we will not be returning or making any recommendations.

We both had the coq au vin which was delicious in a relaxing, cosy atmosphere & very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this restaurant & would return.

Excellent food and service. The restaurant has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Very relaxed experience. Already booked for works Christmas lunch as festive menu is varied and good value.

Staff didn’t seem to care, service was poor it wasn’t as if it was busy. Came for special occasion as a treat and was disappointed. Won’t be coming back

The meal and service was very good .the only problem was that we asked for the steak to be cooked medium but came well done and was tough. My advice is to not put rump steak on the menu but replace with sirloin or fillet steak as it cooks batter but you did give us a discount for the error other than that we always enjoy coming.

4 of us had a meal here on 31/10/18......starters.....main.....pudding and it was all lovely with no complaints.....overall a nice relaxing atmosphere,quality food with attentive polite service.....well done horse&groom 👍

Waiting staff were good.. food was disappointing one meal sent back (chicken and chorizo salad ) one piece of chorizo bit also chicken very hard and dry .steak pie very salty hard veg and chips were dry as though they had been sat for a while .. starters were good apart from pate only came with one piece of bread . First time visiting don’t think we will return ..one meal was taken off that had been returned and waiting staff were very apologetic but a shame food was sub standard .

service was excellent food was superb place was very clean and tidy. parking is rubbish though. you need to book its a busy place and get there early if your driving

Mum, Dad, daughter and son-in-law for an early Saturday night meal before the theatre at LPAC. Food was very good, served promptly and service was excellent too. A good atmosphere with people of all ages. We ate, chicken caeser salad, duck salad, fish and chips (perfect modest size) and mushroom pasta (v generous portion) and two of us shared the excellent triple choc dessert (which was plenty). They stock Fentiman's ginger beer so that's always a plus for our alcohol-free members. We got the last space in the carpark, so you may need to park in Lucy Tower and walk up. We'll come again.

Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. We booked on a Friday evening & one of our party is a wheelchair user. Staff could not have been more accommodating. Good very good too.
