We were a party of eight and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the atmosphere, the service, couldn’t fault anything. In fact we so enjoyed it that we are booking for our Christmas lunch

We have been annually on trips to Harrogate. A different manager each time but standards good.

Our second visit to this pub and although it seemed quite busy, we waited hardly any time at all for service. Drinks were brought promptly and they obligingly changed some small item on an ordered meal for us. Staff were very friendly and polite and the choice of food whilst not enormous is freshly cooked to order.

Excellent, tasty food with generous portions. Service was fast and courteous. Very pleasant indeed for a Sunday lunch. Would recommend.

We have always loved the Malt shovel. The service was excellent and staff super lovely! However although the food tasted good & the beef was cooked to perfection, the vegetables were massively overcooked, tasty but soggy!
