The Mill Bar and Bistro

We are regular visitors to The Mill Bar & Bistro and, once you have been, you will understand why. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere.

Great welcome from the restaurant manageress followed by very good food tasting like it used to do. Service efficient and pleasant. Shame about some of the other diners who seem to think we wanted to hear their conversations and shrieks - but you can't blame the restaurant for them.

The venue and meal were ideal, apart from some undercooked potatoes. However I was concerned that my card details were displayed on the till receipt.

Excellent food on Boxing Day, beautifully presented. Service quite slow but as we were having a leisurely lunch this wasn’t an issue on this occasion. Very friendly and helpful waiting staff, although very casually dressed which doesn’t quite fit with the quality and presentation of the food you get at the Mill Bar, more what you would expect in a little cafe.

I took my family out to eat on Boxing Day to avoid slaving over a hot stove. We ordered french onion soup and sirloin steak which was excellent. Great service and gorgeous surroundings.

Very good food. Christmas music too loud. Service can improve, especially when bringing the wrong wine, explaining it was identical to what we ordered whereas it had noting to do. Again, very nice meal, from starters to sweets

Lovely food but very cold place and a large draft coming through the door thats why I rated 3 had to get in the car to get warm.

Excellent food, service and environment. I have now been 5 times in the past two months and each time was a pleasure. It's in danger of becoming my favourite restaurants in Otley.

Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Very helpful. Warm seeting arrangement. Veg was nicely roasted. Large serving of side dishes of veg and potatoes. Will go again.

Yet another lovely meal at the Mill. Becky on song as usual with a ready smile and service to match. I and friends will be back.

We enjoyed our excellent meal and the staff were ALL very attentive throughout the evening .This is not our first visit and won't be our and we have added it to our very short list of restaurants to re -visit on a regular time.

Friendly, helpful staff and excellent food. Good value compared to some restaurants we have visited and very nice calming atmosphere. Long may it continue. Will definitely be visiting again in the New Year.

This is the lovely building previously occupied by Buon Apps. The problem is that it is hidden in a mill complex and so can easily be missed. Don't miss it though! The food is excellent and the staff are lovely. Four of us ate there. Two had duck, one lamb and one sea bass......all were tasty, well cooked and nicely presented. The four sweets were also delicious. One panna cotta, one creme brulee, one sticky toffee pudding (needed a little more sauce) and one gluten-free brownie. The member of our party who is a coeliac was delighted that she could have something other than ice cream. Support a new, local restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

Great food beautifully presented. Lovely restaurant. Fantastic service, nothing was too much trouble. They didn't have y choice of wine but the house wine is perfectly respectable.

Warm welcome from the staff. Small but good varied menu which all sounded good and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious with clean plates from us all. The restaurant is really pretty with a good atmosphere. It wasn't busy the lunch time we went which is such a shame. It is my second visit and would recommend it.

Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. We have been before and will go again. Staff are helpful if there is any doubt about allergies etc.

2nd visit. Just as good. Excellent food, lovely efficient staff and extremely reasonable price at lunch time. Sorry we live on other side of pennines or would come more often.

Super Sunday lunch, we all had the sharing platter with two meats and lovely Yorkshire Pudding. Vegetables lovely, especially the cauliflower cheese. All four of us said we would definitely return.

Another good Sunday night steak deal. Had the chicken choice rather than the steak. Nicely cooked and presented. Staff welcoming and pleasant, as always. Great value although no bread to start and shy of a salad to go with the mains. That would just add the icing to the cake!!

The cheerful staff at The Mill serve up tasty, satisfying food - favourites with a slight twist - in attractive surroundings at reasonable prices. A rare sirloin steak was perfectly executed (and worth a bit of a wait); a fillet of cod was nicely seasoned and spiced but slightly overdone.

Super Sunday lunch again today. Perfect roast beef with 'done just right' veggies and a great Yorkshire pud. Topped off with a great stickytoffeepud. ☆☆☆☆☆

My husband and I went here for dinner last night with our daughter, son and his girlfriend. We had pre-dinner drinks...lovely G&T’s served with lots of ice in big glasses, the menu is fabulous with plenty to choose from including specials. We all loved our choices (and we each had three courses!). Super service, lovely ambience. Would definitely go again and recommend to others.

We knew Kork's Wine Bar before and were sad when we learnt that it had closed. On our next visit in Otley we were happy to learn that (part of) the team had opened The Mill. Today we tried it and had a very delicious meal "with a twist". We will come again.

I had lunch with a friend. The need to book now becoming very obvious, a few months ago we might have been the only diners but now a real buzz and a steady flow of clients. Well done to The Mill! Lunch very good value at c.£20 each (2 courses, wine and coffee).

Excellent food and atmosphere. Staff very helpful and responsive. Good choice of food on menus and exceptionally well cooked - I had chicken as a main and it was very tender and the sauce was fabulous.

I had lunch at the Mill with a friend and was very pleased to see that the lunch-time trade really picking up. Booking now becoming a necessity. Our 2-course lunch was very good, as always, and represents excellent value for money.

Sunday night steak offer. Great value, choice of steak or chicken for 2 plus bottle of red or white wine. Good atmosphere and attended to by very pleasant staff.

The food was excellent and service very good. The only negative was a lack of atmosphere since we were in a room with no other diners. It was a Thursday night so would have thought it would be busier but the waitress did say there had been a cancellation.

A hidden (literally!) gem. Wonderful food and really different location. Very attractive interior and great choice of food. Nicely busy (Saturday night) with a mixed age group.. a happy group 70+ year olds were enjoying what appeared to be a birthday celebration... and a warm welcome from staff. Only very minor criticism was the staff waiting for food to arrive on the 'dumb waiter... ' which caused a minor hold up for some bread and butter we asked for with one 'saucy' starter! .. not sure why that couldn't have been brought up the stairs... but overall loved it and will definitely go again. Since Korks closed there has been a gap for somewhere like this .. so we're very glad to have found it! Not a cheap night out but worth it... and in any event Kork's was similar so there must be a market at that ££ level.

Good food and friendly service! This was our first experience since the Mill opened. All our party enjoyed their meals and hope to return again in the future.

Four of us went on a Sunday afternoon, it was a lovely atmosphere. The service was the best I’ve experienced in a long time and the food matched it. Really good.

The experience was good from start to finish. The place is lovely and the staff could not be faulted at all. We were asked if we wanted to go straight to our table or have a drink first. The food was extremely good and we definitely will go back.
