We had a mixed experience here. The service was excellent— friendly and attentive throughout. The falafel was a standout, truly delicious, and desserts were satisfying. However, the main dishes (ravioli and linguine) were a bit disappointing, with overpowering garlic and a sour tomato sauce that didn’t quite work for my taste. My friends enjoyed the meal more than I did, so experiences may vary. A good spot overall, but some dishes could use refinement.
Food was great and excellent value for money. The wine was also very good but a little over priced.
The main course duck lacked flavoure and taste and was poorly presented.
A creative and terrific meal at a fair price point.
The restaurant is very nice and we had a beautiful table with a view of the river. The food was good. The service was cold and verged on being rude. Overall, I’m not sure we would return to this particular restaurant.
Always a lovely place to dine/excellent location/great food and fab service
Amazing food on the river. Service was top notch. Wish there was a restaurant of this caliber where we live. Top notch
Quite long service, lukewarm beer but delicious food. Room much too noisy.
Made 2 reservations 3 months ago and someone had used one them prior to our arrival. Staff scrambled to accommodate us. Then we had to move to another table due to a large party. Then we were informed the entrees we wanted were unavailable. The meals we did order were delivered promptly, however just so-so quality. We were disappointed because this restaurant had been recommended to us by friends. When your server is continuously saying “sorry” it’s not the best dining experience. Probably won’t be back.
The food and service were great. The restaurant was lively and had a very nice feel. A good value!
I had high hopes for The Mustard Seed in Inverness, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. From the start, our server was curt and unwelcoming, which set an uncomfortable tone for the meal. Everything felt rushed, as if we were being hurried out rather than invited to enjoy our time. On top of that, the food arrived less than ideal temperature, which only added to our dissatisfaction. Given the many other great dining options in Inverness, I wouldn't recommend this one.
Very poor service, kept waiting to catch waitresses attention to little avail. Quite rude service, food mediocre at best. Forward facing staff should go on a training course of how to treat customers! Didn't stay for desert or coffee - pleased to leave to be honest.
Our waiter was very nice, but our main course took over an hour to come out and when it did one or our items was severely overcooked. May have sat under the heat light for too long. Cocktails were great and ambiance was very nice.
While the food was good, we were a party of 2 that were seated next to a large group of very loud men. It was difficult for us to hear one another and it seemed a very strange seating arrangement. Our server barely spoke to us. She would come over and stand at the table but not say anything. I would not return or recommend.
The menu selection and quality of food was amazing. I highly recommend this space for a lovely lunch or dinner. My husband loved the prawn appetizer and I had the tomato feta salad that was delicious. The restaurant is also in a beautiful setting with the river view!
Restaurant was very busy which affected the speed of service, drinks were very slow to arrive, starters were luke warm. Mains were a mixed bag, two of us had delicious food but the char sui pork dish with noodles was bland.
Sehr nettes Personal und ausgezeichnetes Essen - wir haben es sehr genossen
Amazing food and lovely service. The food was quick and tasty. The birthday touch was really nice
We had a delicious lunch, in a relaxing setting in the snug.
Lovely meal. Service very good. Good value great atmosphere. Thankyou
We visited on a busy Wednesday lunch service. We were seated quickly and given menus. We ordered drinks and water which came quickly. Food order was taken and we had our starters within 15 minutes. Mains arrived promptly too. Food was delicious and I can not fault the service. The Mustard Seed is a favourite of mine and we will return.
Lovely food exceptional staff couldn't ask for more! Definitely visit again.
Great food and service! Lovely menu and good value for money
Another great meal at the Mustard Seed tonight. Staff really friendly and service really on point. Busy restaurant tonight but not too noisey. Looking forward to our next visit. Recommend a visit!

The food is always good and the staff are great, friendly and efficient.
The food was good but the ambience could have been more relaxing.
Delicious food, wonderful service and a lovely view from upstairs while we ate!
Friendly and attentive staff, lovely food and nice ambiance make for a pleasant lunch.
Lovely lunch with work colleagues. Great value & pleasant service
Average food with under average service. Lukewarm to neutral in my opinion
Excellent!! On a pris le venaison et c’était excellent !!
Very enjoyable if a little slow between courses. Good table service.
Had a lovely lunch at The Mustard Seed. The food was excellent value for money. Staff were very attentive and friendly.
Food is amazing! Worth any money! Great customer service, very friendly people. Highly recommended
Staff pleasant, surroundings nice but food very disappointing for the price. Uncooked potatoes, bruschetta was a chunk of hard baguette. Sorry to say but not great
Fantastic meal, great service and lovely atmosphere, we will definitely return!
Entertained two friends who had never been to Mustard Seed before. The food was good but service was poor and was asked if I wanted my bill in an abrasive voice and felt that we were rushed although they weren’t very busy Having worked in hospitality for over 30 years felt that some of the staff needed trying in social skills
As always, food was lovely, atmosphere was great. Alina was amazing, so attentive, professional and friendly. Zander was only on his 2nd shift but was doing amazing, genuinely wanting to please and a nice young man who I think will do well. Another great time at The Mustard Seed.
Good food and great service, as always. One of the best places to eat in Inverness.
Pleasant waiter, but food was very slow to arrive and one portion was lukewarm. Prawn linguini nothing very special. Been coming here for years, but tonight was just "ok".
We had a fabulous meal at The Mustard Seed tonight! The service and choices were outstanding. The food and presentation were top class. We could not fault anything and are already planning our return.
What service. A young man who was serving remembered what we had to drink sone weeks ago. What a standard of service. Everything was excellent.
The food was poor. When the waitress came to ask how our food was, I was about to say that I was disappointed, but she didn't wait long enough to hear what I had to say. I would hesitate to return
Really enjoyed our early evening dinner, tasty food and great service! Well done to the Mustard Seed Team! Looking forward to our next visit.
Late dining so disappointed that several specials were not available. We still enjoyed the experience!
The diners were on a full-day tour with Innes Carma Tours. They advised that the dining experience was excellent!
We enjoyed the food very much, the music was interesting too much bass!! Service was decent.
