I feel as the Mustard Seed isn't what it used to be. They have now cheaper cuts of meat that are the same old prices of the fillet steak that used to be on their menu. I wasn't happy with 2 meals from the specials. Barnacles on my mussels and brown lettuce as my salad. I ordered scallops and I must say, they were the smallest scallops I have ever seen. Used to be our go to for a family meal. Not anymore.
My food was great though one or two of my companions thought it was ok. Service was extremely good!
Excellent food, outstanding service, overall a very enjoyable dining experience.
I always have a good meal at The mustard seed! Staff are amazing too. 2 Courses is amazing value, party of 3 left very happy!
Service and food were great! We highly recommend this restaurant.
Quandoo is closing down. This is a planned, phased process and our platform remains available until 30 September 2026.
This is my partner's favourite restaurant in Inverness but I don't think it is worth the prices they charge - over £8 for a spring roll in my opinion is very expensive.
We had a two course lunch for 3 of us. Two had soup. The main courses were all different.
Such a popular restaurant can get v busy so service a bit slow sometimes but always good food.
Great food, atmosphere and service as always. Enjoyed the whole experience.
We had a wonderful dinner but even better was how kind the host was that night -- he gave us a list of music places to check out after our dinner. Going the extra mile! Much appreciated!
The restaurant ran out of food, the service was slooooooowwww, had to ask for things (water, a knife, etc) multiple times
Thank you for a lovely lunchtime, both food and service were great.
As always, lovely dining experience - great food and warm, friendly service. Never fails to be an enjoyable lunch.
Meal was excellent always a great atmosphere. Should have a choice of main and dessert instead of starter and main
Excellent dinner, good wine and fabulous staff - winning combo
The meal and service and the whole experience as a whole was amazing, brilliant place to celebrate anniversary.
Always a pleasure eating here..one of our favourite places in Inverness
Excellent food. So so busy at 6pm which gave the restaurant a great buzz!
The steak was a bit tough. Our bread plates were taken away early whilst there was still bread left. Otherwise, the food was acceptable.
Only disappointment was the wait for our food. Order possibly overlooked. It was 8.15pm before we got our starters.
Usual great food and service. Staff are fantastic from the second you step through the door. Great choice on the lunch menu, both courses beautifully presented and were very tasty. I finished off with a cappuccino. I was just under £30 for Haggis bon bons, main of Thai Red Curry Sea Bass with rice along with a side of house salad and a Diet Coke. Absolutely worth every penny. I'll definitely be back.
Excellent food with great service. Throughly enjoyed our lunch & will be back.
Always a great dining experience with friendly efficient staff, a relaxing atmosphere and great food. Would always reconnect the Mustard Seed.
Very much enjoyed our dinner. The Carrot-Cumin Soup was delicious, as was the Chicken Balmoral; very hearty. Our wait person was very friendly and helpful; we were trying to guess her accent; after several attemps she finally told us she was from Romania. Wonderful person. Wonderful restaurant!
Very pleasant, tables quite close together. Lovely meal. Pricey wine
The food at the Mustard Seed is always so tasty
was our favourite resraurants in town, poor table service now,
Thanks for a lovely meal. We enjoyed ourselves and the service was especially great!
Over 20 minutes before someone took our order. Food was underwhelming. It was not bad. Just not as good as it used to be. We feel this may be due to keeping prices down. Other good restaurants in Invernes and everywhere else in UK have had to put prices up, but increases in Mustard Seed have been minimal. Perhaps an increase in prices is overdue?
This restaurant is constantly booked up and probably trades a lot off its reputation. It was okay but not the best place we have eaten (the steak was tough - prob not tenderised) but the river view is nice if you can get one of those tables and the service and the rest of the food we ate was good.
Very busy so service a bit slow. Wrong starter brought (fish cake instead of spring rolls). Otherwise good; food tasty and friendly waitress.
Wonderful setting, food and service. And reasonable prices. Book in advance as very popular with us locals.....
Stressed service and starters before both Negroni and white wine. Food OK
Good food, Great ambiance very convenient to the railroad station
A bit understaffed in The Mustard Seed last Friday, so service, though apologetic, slow. Good wine, place not too busy which is good as the open plan can make it noisy sometimes. We‘ve been going now and again for many years, and as non-meat-eaters it‘s never been the greatest menu. Decent but hardly spectacular. Staff all lovely but no sense of anyone overseeing or supervising. They need to up their game.
Excellent meal, excellent service, good wine. We are local regulars and we keep going back.
Love the Mustard Seed! Great atmosphere, service and food. Visit every time we’re in Inverness.
Nous avons apprécié nos plats. Plats simples. Bon rapport qualité prix. Le restaurant est un peu bruyant.
Not the best meal /menu we have had at the Mustard Seed. Scallops starter was excellent. Roasted tuna was a bland dish. Roast potatoes were disappointing and broccoli was probably undercooked. Eton Mess was mainly very thick cream with very tart raspberries and a few pieces of meringue. But we will be back and hoping for better next time.
Lovely food, good service and a great location. Very popular so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment .
Such a shame tbh. Soup was offered as mushroom but was in fact mushroom and tarragon & there was no GF bread to go with the GF soup. The pear salad starter was swimming in salad dressing. Unfortunately the mains didn't fare much better. The broccoli was so hard you couldn't cut through it with a knife, the dauphine potatoes weren't edible. Have always had lovely meals in the past but today was a huge disappointment. The restaurant refunded the starters. Paid for the main courses but it wasn't worth it.
We had a lovely waitress who made made the whole experience so enjoyable. Would highly recommend for a relaxed lunch time treat with wonderful food at an affordable price.
We had a lovely time and really enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed a family lunch at the Mustard Seed. Food was great, and great value.
Always good food, good value and an ambience with a buzz.
Nice setting, friendly service but food was just okay. Nothing stood out really. Our last night in Scotland after 16 days of amazing food experiences.
Perfect setting for our introduction to Inverness! Great menu options and service.
Mon plat était tiède, peu de sauce, le pain n'en parlons pas. Pour moi c'est une cuisine de collectivité ; trop cher pour ce que c'est.
Excellent! Very attentive staff and great dining experience! I will be back!
A first rate meal for quality. The same does not quite apply to quantity: the portions were quite small.
