The Mustard Seed Restaurant

Each member of staff is so pleasant and accommodating which is very rare in other establishments. I have found this each time I have visited.

Good food and great service. Loved it! Would recommend to all.

It was a delightful experience dining in the Mustard Seed. It's a local haunt I'd like to be visiting more than I do, and perhaps in 2024 I will manage a few more visits! :)

We were a table of four and were eating from the Christmas set menu We all had the prawn starter and turkey main . The starter had stop much fish and we could not taste the small prawns . The main did not have enough roast potatoes , not enough veg and no bread sauce . Our table spent £200 and none of us feel it was worth it at all .

enjoyed our visit with excellent food however the table location was not good as we were positioned in a very drafty corridor making our visit very uncomfortable and although we were moved overall the top floor was on the cold and drafty

Had an amazing meal we had a table for 4 upstairs overlooking the river only downside it was very cold and the ladies was Baltic unfortunately it was a very cold night otherwise we had a wonderful time thank you

Ate from the early evening dinner menu as we were heading elsewhere for 7.00. Absolutely outstanding value at £19.95 for two courses. A good selection of dishes ensures there’s something for everyone. Chicken Tenders starter and Sea Bass main were really good followed by great coffee and lovely Scottish Tablet! Braw!

The restaurant was very noisy & busy. The service was ok but not enough staff to attend all the very busy tables. Food was ok but venison was over cooked & the sauce was too strong & heavy. This was brought to the waitress attention & complimentary desserts were kindly offered. Don’t think I wound come back for a romantic dinner for 2, it’s better suited to a group dinner, as more a bistro vibe.

This was my second visit to the Mustard Seed and they maintained their excellent form. Great food, lovely atmosphere, good service. Book ahead as it's a popular place.

The food was okay without being special. With this in mind I thought it expensive for the food. The restaurant was also a bit cold which affected my enjoyment of the meal.

Served by 4 different people (5 if you include the host who welcomed us) so no rapport with any of the staff which was a shame 😳

Main course was cold however staff rectified it quickly and we got a new plate of food with hot food

The whole experience was fabulous.. the food, service, vibe and all it a reasonable price. As for the food ..simply superb! My rib eye was divine and Jim’s salmon equally so. And we were treated so well by each member of staff we came into contact with. We booked a table on recommendation… so glad we did and we booked again while we were there Go, you won’t be disappointed.

Arrived for early evening dinner, warmly met, well looked after and great food as usual. We actually remarked how long the Mustard Seed had been operating, and that they must be doing something right. We have been numerous times, never disappointed and will be visiting again.
