The Mustard Seed Restaurant

Ordered rib eye with roasted vegetables and roasted potatoes. Came with2 pieces of steamed broccoli and boiled potatoes. Steak was thin, not a good cut. Horrible prep and quality. My partner had salmon with a chick pea ragu. Tasted like canned chick peas in Old El Paso jarred salsa. Horrible. Salmon was not grilled. Very cheap, not well executed food. You should be embarrassed for the prices you are charging. The service was indifferent

Food was brilliant, couldn’t fault a thing. Our server (Steph I think) was really lovely. Restaurant was busy but had a great atmosphere, and we didn’t wait long between courses. We really love coming here for a meal!

Early evening dinner menu...steak had quite a few sinews which was not expected. Duck dish was lovely. Server ( Donna) was pleasant and most helpful.

Food was amazing. Service wasn’t great. Ordered drinks and two tables who ordered drinks after us got theirs before ours. Asked for a coffee to be served with our desserts and it arrived after we finished our desserts

Got to be the best posh lunch for the least dosh in the UK! Tremendous food, charming staff, nice customers and a gentle riverside buzz.

We had lunch this time and found it to be a more relaxing experience than coming pre-theatre. We will be back.

Starter came before our wine and as it was not piping hot we ate it straight away. Waiting staff were very apologetic and made a deduction on our bill, this was appreciated. Mains good but I did feel my monkfish main course was on the small side. Puddings delicious as was coffee. Only other negative was the cold, I had my jacket over my shoulders as kept getting a cold draught ….

What a great recommendation. Great atmosphere and advance booking a must. My overall review is excellent. Great staff, clean friendly restaurant. Chicken dish was delicious. My only criticism is as a lone diner we either get seated right in the centre of the restaurant or stuck in a corner. Unfortunately this visit I was not only in a corner my back was to main entrance upstairs. A constant flow back and forward but also very cold and draughty on my back.

We did have to ask for water and drinks a few times but food was good and staff were friendly hence the stars!

I chose the 2 courses for £15.95. I had main and pudding. When I went to pay I discovered that 2 courses is starter and main and right enough that was in brackets. I feel that should be made clearer. I was stung for £7more than I thought I was going to have to pay

Really great visit to the Mustard Seed. Went at a time to get the early evening menu but ended up choosing from the Dinner Menu as we like the Mains better. Excellent friendly service and very tasty food.

Warm welcome & taken to table straightaway. Drinks order taken early but came after starters arrived (apology given). Good menu range + specials. Food was quick to arrive and very tasty +++. Finished with a delicious pudding. Would recommend

Starter tasteless Portion size of sea bass was disappointingly small

An early evening meal before going to Eden Court Theatre and we couldn’t have asked for more. Everything we ate, 3 courses each and chose different things, was truly delicious. Although we certainly didn’t need desserts after our gorgeous starters and mains, we simply could not resist. And the desserts were superb! Exceptional cooking all round and all presented beautifully. The restaurant was warm and cosy on that cold Nov night after quite a long journey there. We were greeted by a lovely young man who took us to our table, chatted and made us so very welcome. The waiting staff were absolutely perfect - friendly, efficient, and attentive. A wonderful experience and we can’t wait to come back.
