Staff not friendly unlike their sister pub The Island Pool who we can't fault. Food although same menu as I P was not cooked quite to the same standard.
Brilliant yet again highly recommended staff & food brilliant 10/10
excellent meal, nice selection of carvery vegetables, all meats were lovely
fab food and staff and so helpful and good service
Really nice and good value meals we will be back soon
One price on website, charged more at the bar, and when I asked a member of staff about the difference, I was told its nothing to do with her, take it up with management. Very disappointed with the pub and staff.
Cant fault the Wellington fabulous fresh food friendly staff nice and clean friendly atmosphere
A lovely meal with plenty of choice for all. We couldn't believe how busy it was but shows what a good meal it is.
Friendly place, ordered the ribeye, no size on menu. Was disappointed to pay £12 for a steak no bigger than 6oz. Meal was nice, but expensive for what it was
had a good night food very good .good selection and very hot will be back as soon as possible
Food was spot on. The staff were very friendly and polite. Best carvery around 👍
Again can’t fault the food.. scrambled egg was a little cold and so was the restaurant this morning but does not for one minute put me off going again..
It was great but the “just eat “ bell kept going off for carvery deliveries so whilst trying to dish up my own dinner I was surrounded by staff serving up takeaway trays
As usual can’t fault love a good breakfast here and always look forward to coming back
Great food, great staff, favourite carvery, clean, tidy lovely place
A party of 9, all served on time. The food was excellent as were the staff. Good value for money & look forward to our next visit.
Very nice food. Friendly staff well priced. Will be going back again 👍
Food was average and was not replenished in timely manner. Not really a family venue in my opinion.
Good portion of meat at the carvery, a fantastic choice and amount of vegetables and for an exceptional price, need to consider a range of alcohol free drinks rather than the becks blue, and make soft drinks cheaper to encourage people not to drink and drive 👍🏻
There was a good selection of food on the carvery but it could have been a bit warmer. The floor around the area we were eating was covered in dropped food so put us off our meal. Overall the food was good though.
It was a lovely pub inside , good atmosphere cheap foods
Nice place really but paying £1 extra for the vegan tart on Sunday roast is wrong. It was nice but wasn't worth the extra £1. Very disappointed to have been penalised for an alternative diet...
We were seated to our table early, got served at the bar just as quick and the food we got was fantastic!
Great service, good selection of vegetables and meats, excellent value for money
Lovely food , helpful staff , and a good price
Food brilliant staff not so good, they tend to ignore you
Fantastic Cavery as always👍Fantastic value for money . Lovely range of Vegetables
always very good service with excellent food, very good value for money
Lovely staff , nice surroundings , great food & value for money
Nice layout, clean and carvery was very nice and a good price
It was lovely and the gentleman who showed us our seat was lovely thank you
We had booked a table as a birthday treat for our 89 year old neighbour as it had been recommended. We chose to have the carvery. The food was to our liking with a good variety of choice, certainly good value. We were given a table right opposite the door which proved a disappointment. Admittedly it was a cold night so you could feel it more because of where we were seated but every time someone came in or went out it made it worse. with a bitterly cold draught We were soon cold and uncomfortable plus our meals which were hot when we got them soon went cold..Unfortunately no one approached us during our meal, as is customary in many places, to ask if everything was OK and neither did we see staff free to ask to be moved, they were always serving someone. We would have stayed for dessert and more drinks had we been warmer but we left immediately after our main meal due to being so cold.It would have been helpful if they had asked us if we had been before,(we hadn't), so that they could explain the procedure for ordering food ie at the bar or table but they didn't and we had to ask as neither were there any notices to explain it that we could see. I think we would all be happy to go there again but we will ring to book rather than making it on line so we can be sure we don't get given the same table.
Excellent food at a very competitive price, one of the best carvaries in the area
Excellent food every time we visit. Lovely staff and very welcoming. Would advise to always book in advance as it gets very busy 😊
Nice pub Good food plenty choices well worth a visit
Food was really good, alot of choice of vegetables. Good choice on alternative menu if you don’t want a carvary and reasonably priced with good offers throughout the week such as, 2 for 1 or kids eat free 😊
Excellent food and a good pub to visit, need to book
The place was rammed at 12 noon. The queue for the food was horrendous, waited 20 minutes to get served. It was quite chaotic in there, and not at all a relaxing experience. The food wasn't bad: the meat was nice and a decent portion. Veg was average, lots of choice but some of it was a bit cold. Staff work hard and tables cleared quickly. Personally i wouldn't rush back, but it really is down to personal choice.
Meal was fabulous Place a bit compact and was very crowded
Polite, friendly & helpful staff with good food. Thank you
