Great staff, atmosphere and food. Some food excellent, good number of choices but some seemed a bit less interesting so there was overlap between our orders. A bit odd to have a ‘specials’ board with nothing on it. Mutton, sprouts and raw steak got top marks.
Great local restaurant, serving seasonal cooking with high quality ingredients. Friendly & professional staff. Good wines. Only misfire was desserts, possibly due to limited kitchen size & team. Recommended if in the area.
Our first visit to The Patricia was to celebrate my husband's birthday. It's a lovely restaurant, very understated. Food in all 3 courses plus our snack of the Epoisses sandwich were absolutely delicious, some of the best food we have eaten. Service was very good although our wine arrived a little late. Unfortunately there were no alcohol free beers or wines on the drinks menu. Due to medical reasons my husband is able to drink only a very small amount of alcohol so will always look for an alcohol free alternative. Would have scored you 6 if alcohol free were available.
Brilliant service, delicious food and a good menu with in season ingredients. The cocktails were top quality as well. Nice atmosphere and not too many tables crammed in.
Better to go in large group as tables for two in dingy corners. Starters and wine superb. Main course disappointing too much fat and butter.
Food was lovely - excellent snacks, starters, mains and wine; decent puddings. All food was beautifully cooked, and everything on each plate worked together. Great range for a small menu (the raw aged beef salad with stilton and walnuts was perfectly balanced; the sausage pappardelle ragu tasted like Italy). Everything looked good without being aggressively cheffy; the mains were as interesting as the starters. Appropriately sized portions, and really good value for the price (I can't think of another Newcastle restaurant in this price range with food this good).
Beautiful experience. Dark and relaxing. Wine perfect. Service attentive, knowledgable, and discrete. Food sublime. Disappointing amount of swearing from the open kitchen where all was calm and controlled.
Wonderful food, pleasant staff, good music and a relaxing ambience. Who could ask for more? - our first visit, very very impressed, looking forward to next time
Excellent food and service. Very reasonably priced. The best Sunday lunch I've eaten in many years. Can't wait to visit again and try the daily menu.
Gorgeous little restaurant- amazing quality food! The Patricia has been a great new arrival onto the Newcastle food scene. Have eaten there 4 times and have never been disappointed. We love it!
Really enjoyed our first visit to the Patricia. It has a great ambience, the steak was mouth watering and wine and service were superb. Thank you.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! A good selection of wines, and ability to mix cocktails off menu too! Thoroughly impressed - definitely believe the hype! We went to Cafe Vivo for Restaurant Week the following Tuesday and had their braised beef and it was genuinely staggering how much better the Patricia's offering was! My only comment would be the location - need a larger restaurant close to bars for after dinner drinks! Thanks for a great evening.
If you like excellent food prepared with love, go. If you want to be seen dining in the right places, go. If you judge a restaurant on hygiene, go. Any other criteria, stay away, you'll hate its eclectic, cosy, familiar feel. Well done Nick and thank you.
Food excellent- service a little slow and very hot in restaurant even though it wasn't a particularly warm night but the open kitchen generates a certain amount of heat - could do with some air con
Most delicious all I've had in years. Attentive staff. Delicious wine. Little cheese toastie superb. Fantastic anchovies. Superlative steak. Mouth watering fondant with a mushy centre. COME EAT HERE.
Food and service very good but the decor was very dark making it a poor atmosphere and the tables on the small side for 4 people
This is a small restaurant that serves excellent food. The service may seem slow at times but the food is freshly prepared & worth any wait.
Great restaurant- interesting menu, all perfectly cooked and with attentive and knowledgeable serving staff. We went for the early sitting at 6.15 and had the place to ourselves for an hour and a half Nice ambience - background music was mostly American 50's swing. Despite being on the busy main road, there was no traffic noise. 4 of us ate v tasty 3 course meal with a glass of wine for £115 which is also v good value for fine dining. We'll be back!
Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. The steak was incredible - I think it's the best steak I've had in Newcastle (which is quite a claim!)
Love the creative menu, but the execution needs fine-tuning. The mushroom starter for example was delicious but too big and same-y. The presentation could be improved as well - just beige and brown. the Patricia is definitely worth checking out!
A late birthday treat set menu lovely choices cooked very well. Flavours excellent nothing over powered. WINE selection good too. Serivce nice not over intrusive, would go back a really good addition to the Newcastle restaurant in realistic price range thank you.
Fantastic evening , small restaurant but very cosy with a buzzy atmosphere .Food was great could have eaten everything on the clever menu . Staff very attentive and cant wait to go back.
Enjoyed our meal here in Jesmond. Could have shared the 'snack' pre starter of olives as there were so many, but otherwise the food was lovely - well presented and tasty. Not sure how often the menus changes but we'll go again, definitely.
Our first time at the retaurant, thoroughly enjoyed the food and overall experience. It offers something unique compared to other Newcastle restaurants, definitely be back.
4th visit and sadly probably the last. 1. Overwhelming smell of hot grease on entering the restaurant 2. 20 minutes before we succeeded in summoning attention to order drinks. 3. 50 minutes before starter arrived. 4.. Food perfectly acceptable if unremarkable. Please sort out your kitchen ventilation and service issues. You are losing customers.
Great food. Friendly staff. Lovely meal out. Will certainly visit again. Thank you for a great evening. . . . . . . . .
Unhurried relaxed atmosphere. Great service and great food. The ex milking cow steak was to die for. Snacks of oysters to get you in the mood, and giant profiteroles full of fresh fruit to end the feast. What's not to like?
Really delicious food, great wine list, and the early bird menu price is a steal. Will definitely be bringing more people here. Great addition to Jesmond.
This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The food was quite amazing with lovely tastes that complemented each other perfectly. I particularly liked my beetroot starter ant the other two were particularly impressed with their fish dish. The service was spot on. Knowledgeable, attentive without being over fussy.
Excellent dinner. Our starter of roasted beetroot in a light fluffy sauce and truffle was amazing, followed by the monkfish and a mushroom pappardelle.. both excellent. Well worth a visit and we look forward to returning. Good selection of wines by the glass at reasonable pricing.
Food and service were excellent as was the wine. Portion sizes were good. Wall and ceiling decoration is very dark and slightly oppressive. Would definitely recommend.
Exquisite food, very good value for the quality of the food and the skill of the chef, lovely ambience and friendly attentive staff. I'll be going back soon!
Quirky place, plates and cutlery from the 1950's. Pretentious very limited menu. Chose our meals in advance from the web site, but on arrival were presented with a changed menu, which had nothing on I wanted to order. Girlfriend wanted lamb, had to have the monkfish, which she liked. Oysters were ok, but the crab farfalle looked like mush, and was full of crab shell. I gave up. Complained and was offered dessert, but still charged for uneaten food. £75 bill for appetiser, starter, main course and bottle of wine. Left hungry and very disappointed.
Excellent restaurant. Great food, good service, neighbourhood feel. An unpretentious place that makes you feel welcome and offers a menu that rivals anywhere else in the North East
Fantastic food, everything was extremly tasty, one of our guests had a special request for a veggie option, the chef created a dish on the spot wich was amazing, very well trained staff , highly recommended, will definitely going back
Simple and robust use of best ingredients...the kind of food yo actually want to eat rather than just look at! Big flavours, hearty portions and attentive service. We will be back.
Overall an extremely disappointing experience. Overpriced, uninspiring food-the steak was excessively fatty (served with a big lump of fat in fact) .Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, we sat for 15 minutes at the table without being offered a drink or being given much attention. So service ( although with a smile) was a bit lack lustre. The physical environment is a bit off-very dark and on a warm evening as there wasn't much in the way of aircon the door had to be propped open with the fire extinguisher allowing the noise of the traffic of the cradlewell to be the backdrop. The table was sticky to the touch. There is one unisex toilet which wasn't attended to- it wasn't clean. The wine was good. I won't be rushing back.
We enjoyed a Lovely evening at the Patricia , wonderful food and attentive service , we will be back on our next visit to newcastle !
A friendly and welcoming restaurant. The staff are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I had 3 courses, all of which were amazing. Fresh produce and very well cooked food. Great wine list. Highly recommended
Good food cooked well- no randomly scattered flowers or deconstructed nonsense. Restaurant a bit dark (and gets darker every time a bus or lorry passes by). No real atmosphere. Could do with more comfortable chairs.
