Lovely imaginative dishes and decent wine selection. We had mutton, and a confit duck interesting side dishes. Was good to see the action in the kitchen

Excellent in all aspects lovely surroundings in the restuarant area,pleasant service,relaxed environment although I believe mid week is generally quieter.Will certainly go again.Our friends who accompanied us for the first time equally enjoyed the experience.

We went for Sunday lunch, there was a little wait for the table but they were very busy. The food was amazing and the service was great. Would highly recommend.

The whole experience was good. Welcoming staff, table ready for us and everything done in an orderly fashion. The Sunday roasts were good and served with a good mix of vegetables. They willing served me a half portion. What I would really recommend is the warm quince pear tart. It was light and served with a quince reduction and whipped cream. Delicious

Lovely cosy pub that serves excellent food. The food is always good quality and the presentation of each dish really entices you to eat everything up. The service was attentive without being intrusive excellent.

Beautiful food, drinks and amazing atmosphere, the front of house staff are friendly, it's also nice to be able to watch the chefs from the pass!

As always at the Railway, we had a very good meal in an attractive environment with exceptional service. The whole experience flows well, so maximum enjoyment can be had with a group of friends.

Nice food and staff.... Sunday roast dinner was really good but potatoes a bit hard. Someone had fish which wad really nice but the warm potato salad that came with it left a bit to be desired

Absolutely brilliant. Loved the place, loved the atmosphere and loved the food. Wonderful staff but disappointed they didn’t take my “Blue light card” for emergency services staff. There are not many places that do not now days.

Post half marathon meal and the railway didn’t disappoint. Great service, great food. The roast dinners didn’t disappoint with the pork belly being a particular highlight along with the sticky toffee pudding

Sunday lunch was good but not amazing. I love red cabbage, kids love cauliflower cheese and we all stuffing. Very fresh but a little boring!

Delicious food , nice lively atmosphere and pleasant staff who didn’t rush the meal but were attentive . Booked for a birthday meal which we mentioned on booking and had a nice table .

Heard a lot about this place so tried sunday lunch, next table compained food was cold and when ours arrived it was cold as well.

Overall a pleasant experience,though possibly becoming victim of its own success. Have visited several times before and would award top marks. This time cooked dinner could be hotter, time from ordering to receiving meal 40mins. Staff made aware and were courteous , and amended the situation. Definitely would return again .I presume one cannot get it right all the time!

Pleasant meal over Sunday lunchtime with family members. Staff attentive to start with but took a long time to get service towards the end of the meal. Food good but not outstanding.

Food here is always amazing , have not had a bad meal yet. Service is always good waiting staff very friendly. Like the fact that your not rushed .

Me and my boyfriend went for an anniversary meal. It had a really lovely atmosphere and AMAZING food. We will definitely be going back again and will be recommending to family and friends.

Food was to a high standard as usual at the railway but at 7:30 on a Friday the bar area was way too noisy which boomed through to the front dining area to my myself and my partner this was too much we could hardly hear each other speak on a few occasions which made our experience of the railway alittle deflated and poor my partner and I only had a main and left , if it were quieter for diners My partner and i would have stayed and experienced all the courses and enjoyed the evening a lot more without leaving prematurely

Good service and food though bar area became too busy for staff to cope with "early doors" drinkers blocking access. This did detract from dining experience.

We had a lovely meal here last Saturday. The food and wine were delicious and the service was very good. Can definitely recommend it and will return!

Excellent food and presentation. Friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed celebrating a family birthday and would definitely recommend. We had the roast dinners and the sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I’d tasted!

Had a fantastic lunch with very friendly service. The quality of all the food was excellent and freshly prepared and cooked. Also, setting and decor very welcoming.

Excellent food and wide range of drinks on offer. Very good service - the only slight negative was having to ask for our order to be taken, but the place was extremely busy and that was understandable. The weather wasn't good enough to enjoy the garden but gives us a reason to return. Have already recommended to a couple of friends.
