Enjoyed the food and service but didn’t like where our table was positioned which was too close to the kitchen area making it not a relaxing experience.

Lovely table, good service. Food very well presented but confit chicken leg lacked something maybe a jus or something. Overall enjoyable lunch though in a nice atmosphere.

The attention fron the staff was first class. My wife has the sea bass fillett which was excellent, I chose the sirloin steak which was less than average, the meat being grainey and less than tender.

The Food was excellent, the service good and not intrusive. It was a lovely evening and had chance to sit outside before dining without being rushed to our table.

Don't chose a Friday music evening when going out for a meal if you actually want to have a chat with your friends. The noise was horrendous, people having to shout to have a conversation due to the musician. Completely spoilt our evening and you must also take into account the fact you are paying high end price for your food and the whole experience was not a pleasant one. The Railway Inn were contacted with regards our grievance but failed to respond!!!!!

As ever, good food, excellent service, and, for us, very close to home. A very tasty Sunday lunch. (My only very small criticism is that I would prefer my gravy to be served separately.)

This was our first time to The Railway and we were very impressed. The pub was beautiful inside...we are sat in two cosy armchairs! The service was great and everyone was very welcoming. The best part was the food...I had the roast pork and my partner had roast beef... both we're delicious. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was a lovely treat. We will definitely be back.

Lovely food and good service. It was very busy last night and we were kept waiting for our table (so that’s why it’s 5 and not 6). The food came quickly even though the place was busy. We were a little disappointed in the presentation of the sticky toffee pudding - just in a bowl with a small scoop of ice cream - lots of sauce though and rich and gorgeous. We shall be back.

Food good, but lacking in the finer details. No apple sauce or horseradish. Service a little slow towards the end of the meal. Staff very good.

There was a good atmosphere and all the staff were friendly and attentive all the way through. Any delays or minor errors were fully apologised rather than just ignored. It was a nice varied (but small) menu to choose from and the food was fully enjoyed, especially the sticly toffee pudding. Not the cheapest but reasonable value for money from the a la carte menu.

Mixed bag. The restaurant/pub was smart and welcoming but toilet area (next to entrance) smelled eye wateringly of disinfectant. Service was friendly but a little slow (30 minutes to be asked about dessert) and food was fine if a little overpriced (£9 for trifle portion, £13 for unspectacular burger)

Another great meal once again. Excellent quality food and packed full of flavour - the arancini and the squid were particularly standouts. The steak is highly recommended and perfectly cooked medium rare. Service great. A wonderful team and a really good to see so many of the same faces. Only improvement would be a portable ramp so we could access the bar, main part of the restaurant and the veranda rather being restricted to the small dining area at the front.

A hot, busy Saturday evening at The Railway. We were welcomed with a big smile, and shown to our table, and orders were taken quickly. Our drinks arrived soon, and when the appetisers were put on the table, we fell on them with delight. Beautiful soft focaccia soaked up the balsamic and the aioli extremely effectively, and the olives were delicious. The starters were exquisitely presented, and looked almost too good to eat - but the gazpacho was the best I've ever had, and the other three starters received equal praise. Our fish was beautifully cooked, and the portions were just the right size. An exceptional meal, and we will certainly be visiting again. Thank you.

A very nice lunch, shame the waitress did not pass on the message that we wanted main course sized staters as a single course. so it was a small portion

We had the most wonderful meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary , The menu has lots of choice with the use of fresh seasonal vegetables and the fish was a delight. The biggest issue for me was making the decision of what to order because it all look fantastic and didn't disappoint when it arrived at the table in very quick time despite being very busy in the restaurant, desert was the same difficult decision so I went for the trifle and the flavors were brilliant each mouthful was a taste explosion . The bar had lots of fine gin's including the famous burleigh pink which is my wife's favorite many thanks to the Railway for a great first visit and I'm sure we will be coming back. A special mention to Kendon who was very attentive and knowledgeable.

Last minute decision to take Sunday lunch out. The team at the Railway were more than accommodating. Two of us dining, food was superb. Staters of a chilled Gazpacho and the best ‘cheese on toast’ you will ever experience then 2 Roast dinner mains (Pork Belly and Chicken). Whole plate was amazing. No room left for a pud each so had to share a cheese plate...😂Thanks guys! A very pleasant afternoon.

The food was excellent as always but the service was very rushed and disorganised. There were 3 wait staff serving us at any one time (table of 2) and as a result we were served our nibbles almost at the same time as our mains. Whilst you don’t want to wait for long periods for food, we did feel a bit like we were in a fast food establishment rather than out for a leisurely lunch. After many positive experiences here, we will certainly go back as we are sure this was a one off!
