Really like it here, the food and service is always very good no matter when you go.

We went for a family meal as a large group of 8. The meal as always was superb, I would recommend this pub to anyone. My only comment would be that service was very slow, but the restaurant was packed so this can be excused.

It was nice. The food was nice and quick but roast potatoes were awful and hard. Plenty of food. Lady next to us was complaining as we were leaving. Staff were very nice. Sat by the door which was not nice. Wind kept blowing everything. In the walkway of people coming in and out most uncomfortable

Great Food, service could have been better. No one asked us if evertthing was alright, no second knife and fork given after we had starters, no one asked if we wasnted sauces etc or anothet drink.

Service was a little tardy as twice we had to approach staff, once to order and second to pay.

The staff were great and food was delicious, worth every penny !!!

Generally very good but we waited 45 minutes for food and that was at a booked table

Not been here for a good few years as food was not great before, my god how things have changed. The whole experience was fantastic, it was busy but the service was quick and the food came out very quickly. The food presentation and quality were excellent and very reasonably priced, one down side was the drinks were expensive but as we were there for a meal we didn’t need to drink too much. Definitely will be going back very soon.

I was a little disappointed that there was no alternative to meat for the sunday roast.? After seeing on the board it started vegetarian option.. no it was just veg and potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. I would think its way easy to offer a meat alternative these days. Even if I was offered cauliflower cheese or something. Other than that the meal was nice I had the vegetarian moussaka in the end.

We had a table for eight, whilst the meal itself was nice, the service was appalling. Pub was not particularly busy but staff busy chatting with each other behind the counter. Very poor service. One drink (strongbow dark fruit) was flat, when it was taken back the girl behind the bar said it was flat because there was no gas on the barrel? If this is case it shouldn’t of been sold. Very disappointed with the red lion today.

Staff were welcoming and extremely helpful when a party of 8 booked to celebrate a 60th Birthday!. Food was fantastic and service outstanding! Definitely recommend x

Food was good, and the place is lovely. My only problem was the bar staff, they were really slow and one was even a little rude to a friend when they returned a drink which tasted funny.

my last visit to the red lion was approximately 14 years ago and was not a good experience. my visit was on Saturday evening it was very busy service was good food was fantastic I wont wait 14 years to eat there again

I only knocked a point off because it was very hot in the restaurant. It is the hottest day of the year so far I know but air con would be nice.

I have been to the red lion many times and enjoyed great meals but On this occasion it was very busy. Couldn't get a parking space to start with. No-one came to get drinks and food order had to go to the bar to get drinks and get service. The wait was far too long and the food mediocre. The service this time was poor

The second time we have been to the Red Lion in the last month. The food is really good, and the staff are great. Really nice place.

Good food Screaming kids everywhere... not the pubs fault but will avoid lunchtime as it was like a playgroup .... 😳

Food was a bit disappointing - hard chips, beef swimming in gravy & grainy, sour part, but main issue was service. No side bowl provided for prawns, waiting ages for plates to be cleared - didn’t have time for pudding m, then had to repeatedly ask for bill. Such a shame

Booked online. Only time slot available was 9.pm. Arrived at 8.30, loads of empty tables. Took a long time to take our order. Then started clearing the plates before everyone had finished eating. This made me feel uncomfortable being the only one left with food so I stopped eating and didn't finish my food.

Gammon was awful to start with very very tough and hard to cut but the very helpful waiting staff replaced it

Lovely food but the room was freezing did ask the staff for the heating to be increased but no difference, only downside of visit.
