Sadly not the best experience had at the Red Lion. Starter was 25 mins arriving main meal arrived after a 30 minute wait... we also had a wrong meal delivered but kept it as we couldn’t face another delay. Having said that all the food was ok if not exceptional, but really let down by the service. I appreciate that things don’t always run smoothly but this is the second time in succession that we’ve had long delays waiting for food...

Good food as always and friendly service. A wonderful choice of menu which makes the choice difficult. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a pleasant meal out for any occasion.

We were there for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, it was fantastic from start to finish. Happy, helpful staff, couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent and so was the service. 10/10

One of the best Sunday lunches I've had in a while. Piping hot and really tasty. Very generous portions so no room for dessert.

We go to the red lion quite often. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the food is always good.

Took my mum Sunday 24.2.19 for her 70th birthday as she has never been there...not happy that after booki9ng a table some time ago our table was right next to the door and had to move chairs so people constantly coming in could get past ..no privacy..door constantly being opened. Also as we drink carling told no carling and they gave us a beer which was very expensive moretti and wasn't told of price . Also asked if we wanted cali cheese with our Sunday dinner and we said yes at no point was we told this was extra cost. When we got the bill was charged £3.00 for it and although the food was lovely we do think £11.00 each for a Sunday dinner is one of the highest we have paid but like I said it was lovely but to then be charged extra for cali cheese and not told is not good as we wouldn't have had it and the beer was £5.10 a pint very expensive again not told if cost and carling black label is a very popular beer so for a pub to run out is mot good and should have either told us price or charged what a carling would cost as no fault of ours that they had none...shame really as place, food and staff were lovely. The fact we took our mum for her birthday as a treat could have been better took her there as we often go.

This restaurant has an extensive menu to choose from. Good food & service, my other half was miffed that the Carling had gone but never mind.

First visit in a long time .Bought friends who had neaver been befor.The food was excellent so was staff .Two of us had the salmon which both said was very tasty.The other two had the Wellington l had the small portion hardly seem much seem any less this to.was very tasty .we all went for the sweet and coffee which was a very generous portion we all had different coffee which where all good definitely will de coming back .

Not sure if it has changed hands recently but we went for dinner today & food & service were terrible. Had to ask for menu, cutlery & condiments. Food came out quick but wasn’t very hot. Didn’t seem to be any table service as everyone seemed to be going to waitresses to ask for things or pay bill.

Lovely food, warm cosy atmosphere and very attentive service. Well worth a drive out would highly recommend. Family friendly with a fantastic play area outside to keep the children occupied.

Absolutely trash got there and was put by the door and couldn't be placed any where else so we left and went the bull & butcher which was brilliant. Used red lion loads of times but not any more.

Lovely place and the food was amazing. The sevice however let it down slightly. The waitresses seemed nice but service was slow with gossiping behind the counter and they didn't know their own menu which was a concern. But the food did make up for it all - chef is excellent.

The food came out cold when members of the group complained we was just told that the court could be notified. When I paid for the bill I again complained that everybody’s food was cold or they could say was sorry . This was not acceptable

It was excellent service . Good menu with a wide range of choices for each course. Good environment. Steaks were cooked perfectly . Look forward to our return .

We were celebrating my daughters birthday and booked on line for the Red Lion. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal excellent service and friendly staff. We will visit again.

Good food friendly staff always happy to help you always be looked after when I go with the family all round good place with a good outside area if you choose to sit outside in the summer.

Have been there on plenty of occassions before and always had a lovely evening so decided to go for my leaving meal from work with my friends as we’ve done so many times before. When we arrived staff were sat down eating and didn’t acknowledge us for a few minutes when we arrived having booked a table. Once seated we had our drinks order taken and after waiting for so long we had to ask for someone to take our food order. We arrived at 5.45 and it took until 8.45 for our desert dishes to be cleared. No one came over to ask how the food was and the restaurant wasn’t very busy with staff standing around at various points not looking after our table. Ordered deserts and the cookie dough was burnt to the hot pan it came out in and the brownie that was ordered was very watery and runny inside which was very disappointing! Please have a look at this as we always have a lovely time when we go for food but were really disappointed on this occasion!

This was an Extremely relaxed venue, with greatly attentive staff .. Thank you to all concerned, keep up the great work We’ll definitely be returning

A really welcoming place with great service. The atmosphere was magical with all the Christmas decorations. The food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long at all. Very good value for money. We had a lovely evening catching up with friends. Will be back and would definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Small but cosy and frendly. Very good menu with a range of dishes which are a little difference from the usual 'restaurant chain' offerings. Food cooked to perfection.

the sauce that was with the prawns wasent nice it should have been sweet chilly, we got charged for a xmas menu, and only had one of the courses, and a pud of the menu board, we wasent told that the pud would cost 9.00 as would still get charged the 17.00 for the one course, so not good value today, but overall the food is always hot, and nicely cooked, we did have to wait for one of the meals to come out for 15 mins, that wasent good either,
