It was nice, okay. The four of us all had the beef and guinness pie however the pie is a pot pie the pastry was ultra thin shortcrust. Brilliant that they managed to get it thinner than a 5pence piece but it didn't make it feel a pie. So a bit thicker pastry please. But on the plus side the meat was great, no fat or gristle.

We booked a table in advance. We were given one with the gents loos on one side, an open doorway to outside dining behind us and the bar on the other side. People exiting the loo and servers to the outside diners were pushing past and banging into our chairs. The pub was very noisy. And then we had to wait an hour for our food. Shame as we have not had a problem here before.

Far too noisy, and over 45 minutes to receive our order. Food was very good.

Great food and accommodating with children just had issues with service but rectified.

First time Saturday evening. Good to excellent service even with so many customers. Congratulation. Food excellent although my steak knife needed sharpening. Surprised a bit at the high cost but that’s now quite common.

Food was fine too many dogs- some intrusively loud customers

Table booked at 8, service felt like we were an inconvenience in a busy pub

Excellent evening meal. Good food choice, with some different ideas such as the burrata dish which was amazing. Service is always friendly and helpful and spot on with timings. Atmosphere is great - always seems to be buzzing here!

Table of three guests / three course meal. The service was just a little slow but it didn't matter especially as each dish was delicious and beautifully served. A marvellous find!

Excellent Sunday lunch and only booked 24 hours in advance. Dog was welcomed.

Food good as always. Did seem a bit too busy for staff to cope today, was ignored for a while and when we tried to place our order at the bar, we were told we had to wait for a waitress. When we tried to pay the bill at the end, a waitress was faffing about hopelessly trying to do something with the film and again ignored us until someone else came along. We will be back, of course, but you need to be able to cope in busy periods.

Absolutely recommend. Roast pork was delicious 😋. But in general the Pub is worth a stop for some food and drink. Lovely staff as well.
