Food and service very good we enjoyed our visit very much
Excellent meal for four, even though booked on the hoof
Food and service very good, but we were a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a good fire going, and the festive decorations looked a bit underwhelming, but the Pie was great.
Another regular lunch date at The Royal Oak for us. Superb food, drinks and staff and a cosy atmosphere with a real fire.
Staff welcoming, courteous and helpful. Lovely atmosphere and lovely food. Will definitely go again.
Always good food, service and atmosphere here and as usual we had a fabulous Sunday lunch. Thanks to all concerned.
Absolutely amazing food, amazing service! Highly recommend! Will definitely return!
Enjoyable evening, home made pies a speciality for the Pub. Also stayed the night, comfortable, but needs better quality toilet paper.
Nice to have a Guten Free & Vegetarian options. Service was quick and food was good. Only one criticism would be the Yorkshire puddings were cold but the rest of the dinner was hot. Would definitely recommend and go back.
Lovely busy friendly pub we came a few months ago and had the pies which were delicious so figured I’d bring my parents tonight for some of the same - it didn’t disappoint thank uuu and we will be back for sure
Lovely food and good atmosphere. Staff were very nice and helpful.
A lovely meal spending time with the family over half term
Superb Sunday roast preceded by a fine pint of beer and washed down with a very nice Malbec. Combine this with great service and pleasant atmosphere, what more could you want?
Lovely friendly staff and amazing pie, would definitely recommend to go to eat
Perfect. I eat steak and ale pie everywhere I go and this was the best I’ve ever had. Great environment, great hosts. Great beer. Fantastic.
I am a celiac and I ate the gf fish and chips, they were the best gf fish and chips that I have ever eaten. DELICIOUS.
A relatively small, but first class. Home cooked and delicious
Food was excellent with friendly service . Will definitely call again
Best pies we have ever had, friendly staff. Great pub.
Welcoming and good atmosphere. Nice country feel decor. Very friendly staff providing take service. Delicious food. Very enjoyable.
Very nice pub and staff were very pleasant and attentive. Food was good. Nice atmosphere.
Excellent food and service in a lovely venue. 10/10 all round. Didn’t rush us and nice ambience.
Food was delicious especially the pies. Nice and friendly atmosphere.
Fantastic staff. Great food and good value. And staff who were very good with our severely autistic son
Excellent pub lunch - great pies, with friendly and efficient service in a classic old pub setting
Nice food, service OK, nice pub, however didn't quite have the cotswold charm
Service and food were great. We had roasts and pie and both were very tasty.
We both had the salmon fish cakes and they tasted very fresh and well seasoned.
Beautiful chicken, leek, nduja shortcrust pastry pie with mash and vegetables. My husband had the beef brisket & peppercorn sauce pie with chunky chips and vegetables which he said was delicious. Nice friendly service. Would definitely eat here again and recommend.
Lovely pub, nice Atmosphere, nice staff, food was very good 👍🏻

First time there, really enjoyed it, food great and friendly staff
We were made to feel very welcome right from the beginning,, the meal (Sunday lunch)was delicious and the staff were really nice
Enjoyable meal , staff were cheerful and kind . We have been several times and we always enjoy the visit
We had a lovely server. The chicken pie was so good--one of the best meals we have had in our holiday in Great Britain!
Best pie I’ve ever had streak and ale - just delicious - really nice staff
Good food. Bit quiet even though all tables reserved? Drinks were a bit more expensive that we are used to in Cornwall! Food was lovely. Staff were friendly.
Great food combined with good service ! Looking forward to a return visit
We received a genuinely warm and friendly welcome from the team who were stood behind the bar on our arrival and, even though we were quite early, we were shown to our table. The menus were presented immediately but at no time throughout our entire visit were we rushed. The food was AMAZING. None of us usually have a starter but when we were told the soup of the day, we pounced on it! It was to be the start of a truly delicious food experience. Perfectly sized portions. We’ll definitely return on our next trip to the area and would highly recommend this pub to everyone. Thank you to all concerned who made our lunch such a success.
Super friendly staff with really warm welcome, great drinks and food selection and fantastic location. Thoroughly recommend The Royal Oak in Burford for meeting friends and family. Thanks to all the team.
Really nice meal. Pleasant atmosphere, staff friendly. A very Dog friendly pub.
Lovely food, lovely staff highly recommend a visit to this pub
Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely go back. We both had Cotswold pies which were delicious
It was heaving when we arrived, and we were seated a short distance from the packed bar, so noise level was high, and moving around the bar area was not easy. But by around 8.30 the bar had cleared, and calm was restored, much better for us. The pies were truly exceptionally good.
Delicious food. Myself and my friend thoroughly enjoyed our lunches. The pie was amazing. There was a great choice of options on the menu which was what led me to book a table here. This was my first visit to The Royal Oak and will definitely not be the last!
The tables were sticky but the food & staff were superb!
The food was very good and the service was just right. The menu was varied enough to provide sufficient choice without being overwhelming. I would return. Only very small niggle: the bench style seat wasn't very comfortable and you felt like you were perched rather than sat.
Great Sunday roast and attentive and friendly staff nice experience
