Good service, great food. The pies were fab - very tasty! Gravy could have been thicker but a good 10/10 meal.

We visited the Royal Oak from the recommendation of owner of the apartment we are staying at and he highly recommended the selection of pies. We both order one beef and one chicken and we were not disappointed! Would highly recommend the Royal Oak to anyone.

The beef brisket pie was simply the best pie I have ever tasted (no exaggeration there!). Motivated and happy staff too.

We all had a wonderful meal here at the Royal Oak. They even read our booking as came out with a Gluten Free menu without us prompting. I would certainly recommend a visit here. Food was delicious, thank you Royal Oak for added to a very memorable time of visiting Burford.

The Wild Mushroom and truffle pie, was by far the nicest pie I had ever tasted... The presentation and value for the money was exceptional... Great food and fabulous atmosphere...

We did wait about 40 minutes for our food but the server did apologise and the restaurant was very busy. The staff kept us informed of why it was a bit slow, and as we were chatting it wasn't an issue. The food was really well cooked and tasted incredibly good! Very nice atmosphere and it was nice to meet a few dogs too!

Staff helpful and very friendly. Our food was delicious. We like this venue as it always has a choice of vegetarian food. We chose different dishes and they were both very good. Our fourth experience here and always good

Staff were very welcoming and the steak pie was fantastic as was the pulled brisket and peppercorn sauce pie that my hubby had.

Unfortunately I thought there wasn’t a great deal to chose from on the menu other than the usual fish and chips, burgers and pies!!!! The ham, egg and chips I had was ok but the eggs were overdone. It wasn’t good value for the money. The other 3 in our party opted for baquettes because as I said limited menu.
