Lovely pub with very friendly staff. We enjoyed a good lunch, lots of variety on the menu and reasonably priced. The pub is spacious with a lovely interior and the tables are nicely spaced out. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely staff, very warm welcome excellent food and service. Thoroughly recommend the fish pie and home made beef burger. Will definitely recommend and go back again.

Fabulous as ever. Great fish n chips and fun family atmosphere. Excellent service, warm hospitality and great food. Can’t fail it. We’ll be back soon.

Very nice meal, good service and good value. Had the 2-course lighter lunch and would thoroughly recommend it. This pub has a good ambience and friendly staff.

The service was good, it was nice to meet friends in a quiet area. Nice atmosphere within the pub and the staff leave you alone until they are needed.

Very pleasant staff and atmosphere - I think I chose the wrong main however as thought it was a roast chicken but was more bbq’d. All others in party extremely happy. Would definitely go back.

A very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, the food was very good and prices were about mid range( around £10-15 a main and £5-6 a dessert). Would visit again if in the area. This place was recommended to us by someone who had already eaten here.

The food was delicious with lots of variety and even a choice for vegetarians. The staff were lovely and very helpful in a relaxed way. There were only 2 minor points, and they didn't really detract from our lovely lunchexperiebce. The table was a little snug for 4 people with not really enough room to put side dishes and then one of our party didn't get the coffee she ordered. However, the overall experience was great and I will certainly be visiting again sometime in the future.

Enjoyable first visit last Saturday. Pleasant welcoming staff who listened to our family story with interest. Meal was very tasty and will definitely be eating there again.

Large characterful pub in attractive out of town location with views south to the Downs. Food and service were both of a good standard but the food prices are on the high side.

Took my partner out for our anniversary meal and when we arrived we didn’t get shown to a table, instead we got directed to where we would sit which was a table for 6 so we ended up sitting ourselves on our own table which wasn’t clean, it had food all over from the previous people that were sat there so I had to ask for it to be cleaned, the food however was very nice, I opted for the steak and chips and I got what I ordered (steak and chips), which was surprising because most places would serve with a salad or mushrooms and tomato. Apart from this the experience was nice, the atmosphere and staff were friendly

Good food and friendly service. We went for a wedding anniversary meal and it didn't disappoint. A little pricey but worth it. We would go back.

The resturant served lovely food and there was a friendly atmosphere. So near to our home, so We'll go again soon hopefully. Great we could bring our dog with us too.

The portions were generous and priced right. The service was impeccable and the efficient. Would recommend and take family and friends there again. Great job!

Arrived and received a Friendly welcome. We were shown to our table promptly and received attentive service. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. We had a starter and a roast beef and could hardly finish it as the quantity was amazingly. The shared platter of calamari was huge and would make a lovely lunch to share. Definitely recommend.

Good service,good value and tasty food,we have been there before and will go again. It was a cold day and perhaps could have done with the fire simmering to warm up the area before we arrived.

Great hotel which was very accommodating for all our needs as we were there for a wedding with the bridal party. Room was great and nice and quiet and breakfast was superb. Would definitely stay there again. Also had dinner there one evening and that was great too.

The food was excellent, especially the fish pie, and a nice choice of real ales. Atmosphere was very good and staff very helpful. All round a good experience

food was great, service great, only thing is it was quite empty and quiet so not as much atmosphere as could have been (we had a table booked for 8pm on a thursday- you would have expected a few ppl there!) but very nice place

Good service. Very reasonably priced good pub grub with real ales. Not to pretentious and good menu choice with daily specials. Would recommend if not looking to spend too much

I believe there are new owners of this Pub. Food was excellent. Three of us had the Sunday roast which was beautifully cooked with plenty of interesting vegetables and a generous helping of meat. I had Sea Bream again which was cooked to perfection with braised fennel, samphire, asparagus etc. For such a nice pub it would be nice to see the staff helping to create the "Brand" by wearing matching tee shirts and aprons. Very little cost to the owner but does create a more upmarket feel to the establishment.

Ok but it is what it is, nothing special just English pub food it lacked atmosphere but the staff did try and to be fair the place needed a bit of a makeover,it seemed a bit worn in places

Really really really really nice food and really really really nice staff. This was despite the famous Goodwood Revival Event being on which is always really busy

First time visit last Monday. Wasn't really the weather to sit outside so sat inside. Really good food for both us adults and the kids. Recommend the sweet chilli beef starter, and the homemade fish fingers for the kids.

It was our first visit to the Royal Oak for many years and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Had been recommended to the Pub on several occasions and will now do the same. Excellent.

Great service on a busy Sunday lunchtime. Really good Sunday lunch and would thoroughly recommend. Very friendly staff and great glass of wine. Good atmosphere.

Great food and atmosphere, very good value for money. Service always very good: cheerful and helpful. The location is a big plus, with wonderful views over the South Downs from the outside tables.

Food excellent, freshly cooked so you have to wait but the service was very good despite two large parties at the restaurant. Nice atmosphere - would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Been a few times now and the food and staff are always great. Nice beer garden. Very happy with our experience. Reasonable prices as well.

Food was lovely and couldn't be faulted, roast beef was incredible, just a bit slow on the service
