The Smoke Pit - Northampton

We were clearly not the only ones who thought this would be a perfect Father's Day treat. Really good vibe and oodles of yummy food. My son called it blinner (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)! Interesting urinals, so I am told, which always creates excitement ... boys will be boys!

Excellent all round experience. Food super. Service super. BUT drinks too pricey and the long island iced tea had the incorrect ingredients but otherwise all good.

Great food! Just a little disappointed that the birthday cake was brought out without us asking... Other than that, great place! Will be visiting again!

Had a great time, loads of food, great cocktail, very friendly service. Will definitely return as could not fit in a dessert this time. Definitely recommend a visit.

Straight forward menu, friendly and efficient staff, big portion sizes, not too expensive. The best grated carrot you'll ever taste. All in all a nice place to have dinner.

Worth a visit but no need to order a starter as the platters are huge. Service good. Not much atmosphere but it was a Sunday afternoon.

Great food, Great service, Great atmosphere. Never disappoints. I've been here on a date with my husband, on a girls night out and for a work meal, and each time it has suited the occasion perfectly with resounding praise from everyone. This is becoming a regular choice for us, brilliant to have in Northampton!

Food was awesome - as it always is. The waiting staff were polite and friendly - offering extra drinks, asking about food etc, but service was extremely slow - I think there may have been issues in the kitchen, as lots of diners appeared to be waiting just as long as we did.

This is out favourite restaraunt in Northants we never go anywhere else on a night out. The food is always amazing and staff are friendly. The decor is very unique and always something new to look at. We love smokepit!

Food was fantastic and so was the service will definitely be visiting again with whole family. Food was well worth the money and plenty of choice for everyone.

Initial impressions of this restaurant were good , unfortunately after we were seated this trend stopped quite quickly, Out first round of drinks was ordered and quickly brought out with there only being given another couple in the restaurant at this point we decided that we would have a broad sample of the menu , I ordered the platter for 1 ( which is huge by the wwy) and my plus 1 decided to go with the fillet steak, our food then took 30 minutes to arrive, which I can overlook as the food itself was both generously portioned and very tasty, however the service was atrocious, not having a check back at all during the meal , after we had finished, I had to flag down a waitress to get some more drinks , before paying the bill. All in all the food is great , but servers need to be a lot more attentive of their tables instead of hiding in the bar area chatting.

The staff where very polite and helpful, the food was extremely tasty and very filling, didn't have to wait long for starters to arrive and the main followed quickly quickly after but never felt rushed.

This place has a great atmosphere and food to match. Check out the art work on the walls as well. Some fantastic work.

Very enjoyable 1st visit, totally recommend the Hanging Steak. Service was excellent, staff were very efficient and quick although the restaurant was not very busy. Am looking forward to returning with friends.

Food was good but not excellent. Portion sizes were decent, extra sides made it a good meal. Service was poor. Little knowledge surrounding the menu, and apart from one server, not a smile to be had. Staff were functional, but attitudes appeared very disinterested, an education in table side manner and customer engagement would not go a miss.

Superb venue with friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Great food, very generous portions. Luckily they have a takeout service and we took home our 'leftovers' as they were too good and tasty to waste. Well worth a visit, Highly recommended.

Pleasant welcome and seated really quickly . Service was quick and we were eating within ten minutes . Food was amazing , so tasty ! Defo visiting again

we always have a great meal and a good laugh when we are here the atmosphere is great the staff are always very helpful as for the meal all I can say is fantastic. Me and my friends and family will be coming back very soon thanks to Matt and his great staff

Always great food and attentive staff. We have visited a number of times and it's our place of choice to eat on a evening out.

Great atmosphere, but be warned spicy means burn your lips spicy so be careful. Friendly and helpful staff too. Meals quite expensive but plenty of food so you won't leave hungry. Definitely will go again when I can find a good excuse.

First appearance I thought it was a bit quirky but the food is absolutely amazing and the staff were great and very friendly . Would defiantly recommend to anyone and will be going back .

Good food and large portions but service was slow given it was empty the restaurant at lunchtime. Normally quite quick service at busy times though.

Amazing food, huge portions and so tasty. We took a lot away in soggy bags and finished it over the next couple of days. The waiting staff were very friendly, attentive and professional. Love the decor. A great find in Northampton, especially with a car park so conveniently nearby and free on Sunday's! Can't wait to try out more dishes on the menu soon.

We had a fabulous tasty meal. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Service was attentive and with a smile. Absolutely stuffed when we left. Definitely going back.

Great friendly atmosphere, unfortunately they got the main course wrong but soon corrected it with no fuss or charge. You don't need a starter ;-)

It was our 3rd time in the Smoke Pit, this time we left a little bit disappointed , the pulled pork and the meat this time around was so dry, and for mask it up it had so many sauce ( not like the rest of the times we went) it was so hard to eat because you could only taste was sweet sauce, the highlight of our order was actually the nachos, the meat of the nachos was on point, we came for the Oreo cheesecake as well, but they changed the menu. Overall i had big standards as i'm a regular customer, but this time, maybe was our last time.

Extremely great place. Fantastic food with a huge portion sizes. Great, friendly service and very good price for what you get. Can't recommend this place enough.

Lovely food and great service as always. The atmosphere is always good and there is plenty to choose from. I always come out feeling full and satisfied- decent price for the amount of food you get.

Service was poor. Had to ask for drinks, asked for someone to take out order and when it came it was wrong. Yummy food though

We visited for the first time after wanting to come here for over a year! Can totally see why it's hard to get a booking here, the atmosphere was amazing, as was the food. There were so many options for drinks too! Just one thing which isn't even a big issue but if you are going to do martinis please serve them in a clean glass, not plastic, it just makes it feel cheap. We cannot wait to come back and we will hopefully bring friends with us!

Great food and great service, tad expensive but food was good so you don't mind :) plenty of space for our pram and baby changing facilities were good

Lovely restaurant and the food was delicious. Ate far more than we intended and left feeling pleasantly stuffed. Good value and excellent service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have been to the smoke pit a few times and this time opted for something off the specials, i has the Moroccan Chicken although the flavors were beautiful the chicken was extremely over cooked, i didn't complain on the night as the staff has been fantastic and we had enjoyed our night, I had the Halloumi to start which was beautiful- apart from the small matter of the chicken we had a very enjoyable night celebrating my sons 18th

Lovely food, massive portions, great friendly service and an energetic, lively atmosphere...3rd time we've been here and it hasn't disappointed yet! Highly recommended to all ages

My family had a great meal and time at the smoke pit the staff are friendly and helpful this is my 3rd visit and my two boy can't wait to go back again

The food is amazing! I had beef rib and bone marrow mash and it was the tastiest meal iv had in ages. I loved the everything about my meal :) Only negative points were seeing other people who ordered after us get their food first and sitting in "couples corner" it would be better if couples were spread around the resturant instead of all together.

Great food, the brisket was superb, along with the sweet potato fries. Good selection of beers on tap and bottled. Staff were also great, and attentive.

Amazing food. Amazing venue. Amazing service. You HAVE to try this place. We had two mains (one was sirloin steak), a dessert, a bottle of wine and a large extra glass of wine. Came to £75. You won't regret going.

The food here is delicious, I had the pulled pork and there was so much on the plate I couldn't eat it all. Value for money!
