Great service from front staff to bar staff great hot food as always, very good valve for money, the cocktails are very very nice !!!

Out of beef shirt rib for a second time. Both on a Saturday, peak time to be fully stocked. Apart from that it was fine.

Good service and great food. Portions are huge, so beware not to order too much. Would definitely recommend this place. Decor is like an industrial building bit it works

Fantastic food, staff very attentive would definitely go back . Steak was cooked perfect , hubby had a platter and all on it was cooked perfect .

Its great food at a decent price :) I know the chairs are trying to be in keeping with the ambience, but you are basically sat on expensive garden furniture. Something with cushions would be nice.

nice friendly service, food well presented, no one noticed we had been sitting in drinks area and not offered us menu but apart from that all good.

A favorite place to stop when we visit Northmapton. Normally great food and a really good atmosphere. Starters & sides were amazing especially the Nachos, just slightly sad that one of the main courses was dry and over-cooked. When alerted to it the staff & manager were great about it, offering free drinks and discounts to the meal and apologies. By the end of the meal we were completely full & satisfied, a nice meal. Will definitely return next year we are back and would recommend to anyone!

Overall Very pleased with the quality of the food and the quality of the service and will be going back again in the not to distant future

Overall we were very disappointed with the food and service. My first impression was not great when I had to wipe the last customers food off my chair before I could sit down. My husbands prime rib of beef had a massive chunk of uncooked fat in the middle and it was served very rare, which he was not expecting. My pulled beef was over seasoned and tasted extremely salty. So much so I couldn't eat it. Also the onion rings were served dripping in grease. We had no check back during the meal so I was unable to select something else to enjoy while hubby was still eating. After he had finished I was asked but by then it's too late and to be fair I'd been put off by what I'd had. We chose the restaurant for our anniversary meal, but will not be hurrying back anytime in the future.

Very nice food. Great service and quite quick. However I'm not keen on the paper type thing on the trays that the food comes on.

A great night at The Smokepit. Friendly, knowledgable staff, great atmosphere in a quirky setting. The menu was inviting but all sounded so good it made it harder to decide! Was in a party of four, all of which enjoyed every mouth full. A great night. Highly recommend.

My partner and I took our friends who were visiting us for the weekend. The food was amazing and really filling, a starter is definitely not needed. The hangar steak was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. I would definitely recommend this place to any meat lovers. It is one of my favourite restaurants in Northampton.

Lovely meal, as always. Great for the kids and good service. The 12 hour short rib was fantastic! Kids had the hot link sausage which they enjoyed.

very friendly waiting staff, big portions, great food (onion rings very greasy though with little taste) and it got quite noisy. But would highly recommend and look forward to next visit

The food was excellent and the service was very good. Just a bit of a problem with the noise as it was difficult to hear people on my table.

Loved it!! Macaroni cheese is to die for! Great service, good choice. Eat there and still lost one and a half pounds!! Happy days all round

Went for my wife's birthday meal and was pleasantly surprised by the consistently strong performance of this restaurant each time we go. Lovely food, good service and an enjoyable atmosphere...again!!!

The food was delicious and plentiful! We had the meat platters to share and I had a peanut butter and Oreo milkshake which the staff made up for me despite not being on the menu! The service was also very good!

It's our second visit there now and it didn't disappoint. Food was excellent. Service was very friendly and although it's was quite busy, food still arrived in a timely manner. Will definitely be returning again some time soon.

Great relaxed and lively atmosphere here, the portions are generous and the food absolutely delicious. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant as a great place to catch up with friends. The recent updates to the menu are excellent and I would highly recommend the beef and reef platter which we ordered with 1 additional side and was the perfect amount for 2 (rather hungry!) people.

Overall, really good night. Couldn't fault the food, if anything, portions too big. I had the Swordfish ... lush! Only gave a 4 due to the ambiance, very noisy, ended-up almost shouting over the table, maybe some material of some sort in the roof-space would solve it. Also, no decent coffee, just boring old Filter, unusual for a restaurant nowadays. Having said that, I'll be going back.

Always friendly staff, great food. The chicken ceasar salad is a winner with me X Great drinks choice, the strawberry in the prosecco was a great personal touch.

Good food, really like all the slow cooked meats. Portions and pretty large, particularly the platter we had which we did not come close to finishing between two of us. Not somewhere I would ever feel the need for a starter. This just makes it better value though in my opinion. Do some very nice beers also.

Good food, interesting and relaxed setting. It's somewhere I look forwards to going back to. Just need to be careful and not get carried away and order too much food.

Great meal and service. Fantastic smoked BBQ at a decent price. They also have a great selection of bourbon and rye whiskeys. Highly recommended. overall a great experience!

Slow service, warm white wine and expensive. It was like sitting in a school canteen, food probably double the price of what it's worth. Won't be going back

Amazing food. Really good choices for meat lovers. The platter was a varied delight so you can try lots of things. The slow cooked meats are succulent and tasty. Best of all was the rump steak. Perfectly seasoned, tender and a sizeable portion. The sides are lovely; the crispy sweet potato fries are a special treat. On top of all that, the service is brilliant and the interior has a special look to it.

The Resturant was fantastic, food, service, the whole experience was first class. It was our first visit but will not be our last and can't wait to go back soon

Great and interesting place to eat. Great front of house staff. Great bar staff. male servers great but spoilt by grumpy , rude female servers. Shame , otherwise recommended.

The food itself was brilliant, and the staff attempted to be somewhat attentive. However, I was disappointed by the general lack of service provided and the fact that my chips arrived cold!

The food was delicious and the service was good. Maybe they could have better children's deserts, only offer ice cream. Will definitely visit the smoke pit again.

Fantastic, never disappoints! Would definitely recommend to anyone! Love the steaks and the sides, mum didn't like her broccoli because it was a little under cooked but I ate it any way!

Even though the wait was quite long, when the food finally came out with it was absolutely fantastic, as it normally is whenever I go there! I had the ribeye steak, which was cooked perfectly and my friend, who had never been there before, had the platter for one, which she said was amazing. The staff were also lovely and our waiter especially. Already making plans to go again at some point.

Fab service, fab food. Went at lunchtime on a Saturday (12.30) and it was lovely and quiet, started to get busy as we left, 90 minutes later.

Great quality food served quickly despite warning of waiting time. Perception of prices are slightly high but dishes are original for the geographical location and the restaurant clearly values its individuality. Shall be returning soon. So many more dishes to try!

We were seated and our orders taken. An hour later we hadn't been served and when asked it was clear our food had been forgotten.

The food was nice and the milkshakes amazing but the desserts were all cake based would have been nice to have at least one sundae especially in this weather. Great service though.
