The Smoke Pit - Northampton

My fourth visit now and still my favourite place in Northampton to eat. Food was fantastic as ever and service great as well. I look forward to my next visit.

Amazing food and service. Book in advance so you aren't dissapointed, it gets busy! So good we keep going back :) Love the fact they cater for all tastes and great range of different meats and fish combined with amazing flavours!

Wonderful food and great atmosphere, the staff were extremely polite, however we did wait quite a while for our food but having said this it was a busy Friday night.

The restaurant was amazing! Firstly, the atmosphere is great, really lovely layout and decor. Staff were friendly and helpful too which is great. My partner and I went for my birthday and I definitely feel like we had a good time, and are looking to return soon!

Amazing food with really friendly and helpful staff I had the smoke pit platter for one which was good for trying abit of all the different meats have A+++

Excellent meal,good service and great atmosphere.Massive portions and well priced.We had some meat left over and they provided a box to take home for the dog.The dog enjoyed it too and kept going back to his bowl to see if by magic there was more.Not visited the smoke pit for a while and it was good going back. We will visit more often in future.

Large portions and good service. We found The food was of good quality. The only thing to note is that it can get a bit noisey at peak times which wasn't an issue for us.

Very good service. and the food was lovely will definitely be returning. I woukd highly recomend this place for food. Also the pulled porknis my favourite

The food was totaly amazing, I would highly recommend it. We had a fantastic,warm and helpful server named Lilly A+ The portions are quite big, on the plus side you can take it home if you don't finish it!

The girls in there where fantastic with their service. The wait for our food was not very long either, and when the food did arrive, it was fantastic!

A lovely atmosphere, great friendly staff, wonderful food. First time we have ever been there. A casual 'date' for our 26th wedding anniversary. Everything is freshly cooked, this being said we didn't have to wait too long for everything. Won't be our last visit.

Fantastic food and choice, loads of interesting beverages to suit all, cocktails and milkshakes so so nice and to top it off there was lovely decor and atmosphere and friendly staff! So a ten out of ten overall!

Delicious! Never had a bad meal here. The restaurant is just set back from the main street so you have to park in a public car park and walk there. It's not too hard to find! The staff are very nice and attentive. You will definitely not leave hungry! Platters are great and the pulled pork is amazing!

Great food and good beer, plenty of food, left the restaurant FULL. Service was quick and staff were friendly. Thanks for giving us a memorable night!

Another great trip to this awesome place. The service was great and the food was amazing, albeit I ate far too much. Will definitely be going back there soon.

Really enjoyable evening out. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly, and the venue itself has a great atmosphere. The menu has so much choice for both food and drinks, and the food is superb! Highly recommended!

Very tasty food, service was thorough and of a high standard, prices were a little steep for my taste, but we had a very nice meal and left the place happy and with a very full pair of tummies! I will return, but only after a bit of saving 💷💷💷

Really different resteraunt the food is great, big portions and strawberry daqori is divine! Also the staff were really friendly. Would suggest making a reservation as gets very busy. Would recommend to friends. Thankyou.

Food was fantastic as always. Although i still think i would suffer smaller portions for lower prices. Waiting staff are adequate without ever excelling, every time i have been something has been forgotten (usually the bill at the end of the meal) and i have had to remind them. As always though the food was spectacular to see and consume, the sort of food that you actually want to put on facebook and not just feel obliged to.

Was greeted by smiley face, seated immediately. Offered drinks and given the menu straight away. Food was a while coming but us 4 girls had plenty to catch up on. Food was so tasty. Plates cleared swiftly. We stayed at table chatting after and didn't feel they were rushing us out.

Lovely food, great quirky settings and polite staff, definitely go again and try the platters they look delicious, had a rib eye steak cooked beautifully

Good food, nice atmosphere but service was a bit slow. We got there at 8pm, decided what we wanted straight away, got our food at 8.45pm. I would go back

Been before on a Saturday evening, but this time was a Sunday so much quieter - Lovely evening and great food. The sweet pot fries are a must!

Fast service, tasty food. Was quiet when we went so we're seen to faster than other times. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Good venue.

We had a great night, the food was amazing, the staff were very polite and helpful and there was a great atmosphere, and although it was a really busy Saturday night we didn't have to wait too long for the food.

Very nice food, and good portion sizes. Very friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. Don't be put off by the outside, it's very open and airy inside. Prices are a little high, but worth it for a special occasion.

Food was absolutely delicious and came out very quickly considering the entire restaurant was full. Attentive waiters and waitresses too! Would definitely return in the future. :)

Friendly, efficient service. Food is excellent and the beer's not bad either. Bit noisy because of echoing but definitely worth a visit; then a re-visit.

Waited 50mins for food ordered the Piri Piri chicken platter and wasn't till after I realised I had no pulled pork or pickled pineapple !??

Great food, quick service and friendly staff. I took my husband out for lunch for his Birthday. He loves the meat platter from the smokepit and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

We went there last night, a group of six people. Everyone enjoyed the food, from the huge plate of nachos we chose as starter to the meat wich was very tasty until the dessert! I simply love this place! Highly recommended!

Fantastic restaurant with attentive service great food and a fabulous atmosphere. We went here as a family and had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again.

Great service, stunning food and wonderful environment. Highly recommend a visit. Try the short rib and wings with blue cheese sauce. The hot link sausage probably my favourite!

Great restaurant! Lovely food, Meaty menu! The main was lovely i had the St louis half stack ribs was nice bit hard to get the meat of the ribs but besides that was lovely. Desert was INCREDIBLE salted caramel cookie with ice cream. delicious!!

Lovely food. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Perfect for carnivores, especially! We will be going back. Tucked away in Northampton, but busy even on a Sunday evening.

The booking was easy, the staff were very helpful and curtious and the food was amazing , good size portions. The fizzy drinks machine was great, such a selection and the walls in the toilets were very funny. Great place to eat

My boneless rib was dry and had a distinct flavour of firelighters Not in a rush to go back service staff were very good though

Food is great, price is good for the amount of food you get. The only downfall for me is I think the seats are uncomfortable,

It wasn't very busy, we was seated straight away, we waited 15 minutes for our drinks, mine was flat and we then waited an extra 30 minutes to order, staff not overly enthusiastic, did get a check back though, will probably go back if the staff smiled and knew what the special of the day was

Patient staff when half our party was 30 mins late, the food was imaginative and tasted fantastic, and the drinks menu contained an amusing set of cocktailes, the coronarita went down rather well.

Visited on Saturday evening. Very good service and food, considering how busy it was, we Will be returning, highly recommend, we have never had a bad experience here.

The restaurant looked really good and the Food was really good quality and great portion sizes, would definitely recommend people visit. Loved the toilets too

You must be hungry as the portions enormous so well worth the money. Really enjoyed it. I would recommend it and would definitely visit again.

Amazing food. Pulled pork was absolutely lush! I would recommend a sharer so you get loads of options.

Fabulous food, amazing atmosphere and great service. Would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for meat lovers. This is now our choice for family meals out.
