Mixed review really. Pizza - excellent as always and good value . Pie - excellent as always and good value. Prawn cocktail starter - oh dear, got it seriously wrong there. £6.50 for a handful of prawns, 2 lettuce leaves and 3 croutons. This was no way value for money, and let the meal down. Shame .
Great service and food very good value for money. Would return
Lovely food enjoyed it lovely staff very friendly thank you 😊
Lovely atmosphere, is our go-to in winter as we love the sunday carvery! One thing i would say (although i understand is hard to keep up) the cleanliness of the outside tables! We had a few dead flies and food marks on our table. Overall a lovely restaurant with very friendly staff, would reccomend
Fantastic service. Always a joy at the Unicorn. Friendly staff.
Quiet time. Staff were great, the food,1st class, my steak was a pleasure to eat.
Great choices, portions and service in a nice location and great bar and beer garden 😊
My daughter is quite a picky eater but there was plenty of things on the menu for her to pick from.
Food was excellent but wait a little long Waiting staff very friendly and informative
Super roast carvery great service too👍🏻would definitely recommend to all 😜
Great food, big portions, good atmosphere, plenty of choice on menu
Lovely food and drinks and atmosphere, great staff and establishment will return
Restaurant very empty, but a 45 min wait for food.
Sadly disappointed. We have been here before but not for Sunday carvery. Took ages for someone to acknowledge us and show us to our table. I was thinking we were invisible!!! Drinks order........hope you diners aren't thirsty. Had our order taken quite quickly but it took two chase ups to get our drinks. What was annoying is that this was 4.30 pm. Not exactly packed to the rafters!!! Meal was ok but nothing special. Meat joints were all the end bits and dry. I can't forsee we'll be returning any time soon. Shame, but there are better places around.
We drive past the Unicorn's head quite a lot. The menu that can be viewed on the website looks great. We decided to book on Saturday night. There was a wedding party there, so we had a table in the bar area. We were made to feel very welcome and young Chris who served us is an absolute star! The food was beautiful. Would deffo recommend and we will certainly be going back to sample more of the excellent menu.
Food was amazing 5 out of 5 staff was friendly
Long wait time on food. Waited over an hour and desert took half an hour despite being 2 pieces of cheesecake from the deli
We always enjoy dinner at the Unicorn's Head. The pizzas are amazing - even with a gluten free base!
Lovely 16th birthday dinner and fabulous rocky road hanging kebab with candle to end the evening.
Waitress was amazing, food was tasty and a good variety. Everyone agreed we would definitely return!
Excellent food and service. Lovely surroundings and play area. Thank you
Lovely evening celebrating my husband's 50th. They were very busy and went above and beyond to do their best.
The service was very slow and we were not placed in the restaurant, food was okay
Quiet evening, great food, good service. Very happy, will be back again soon.
As always food was amazing, they were very busy so service was a little slow at times but staff were attentive and checked in and updated us regularly.
Very nice food good service nice restaurant friendly staff.excellent all round
Nice atmosphere, staff very attentive and talkative and the food was lovely.
Felt that we were treated as an inconvenience to them not a valued customer no one asked if we were ok or if we enjoyed it.
Our experience was very good, it was our first visit in a long time but it won't be long before we're back.
Excellent food and service. Value for money quality food and portions. Will definitely go again.😃😃😃
Could be a friendlier welcome as it was our first visit. Messed up bill but quickly resolved the issue. Food was lovely, gun was great and service time was acceptable. Will be back!
Absolute fantastic quality and service. Chris is a genuine and friendly member of the team who helped us enjoy our meal with his bubbly personality
Lovely greeting as soon as we arrived very helpful and smiling lots food was delicious 😋 and we will be back thank you
First ever visit. Very pleasant experience, will no doubt return.
We was 25 minutes to be seated at our table, we was then a further 30 minutes waiting for carvery. Food was delicious as always but the service was slow
Terrible service, slow service, food mediocre, vegetarian choices and dish chosen was rubbish. Such a shame as this is a lovely pub/building/location etc 😏
Very poor, wouldn’t recommend as staff seemed incompetent and the food was pretty standard. We got asked if we were on our starters or our mains. Should the staff not know and be aware of whether you’re on your starter or your main, surely? Never in a restaurant has a staff member asked whether we’re on starters or mains. Odd. Everything seemed pre-prepared. When we paid the bill the woman took the receipt, didn’t even ask if we wanted it. We saw one of the chefs eating in the kitchen whilst preparing the food - how unprofessional and unhygienic. The food was nothing special. We were sat for ages with dirty plates, even after we had finished our main course. The hanging kebab stands were on the table for a long time, nobody seemed on the ball. Not impressed, sorry.
We have been there several times now and always have had a good time. My only grumble is that the menu is very limiting if you are not a carnivore. For example, it would be nice to have a vegetarian option on the skewers menu or a fish version. The same could be said of the starters menu as well.
Portion a little mean for the price. A tad noisy to have a conversation but music very good.
The server was very slow to take our order, despite only five tables being occupied. A recent delivery from a local bakers was spread over the bar seating area near the entrance - still there when we left. A gentleman sat at the bar (owner/manager?) persisted with a very loud phone call when I was at the bar. There was sediment at the bottom of my pint of shandy. The menu is still full of spelling and grammatical errors. We try to support this pub because we know the owners have struggled, but it must improve!
