They accommodated my allergy to dairy very well. Even presenting me with alternative options on arrival and the service was warm and friendly but my guest was dissapointed with his food experience in addition to his first choice options of starter and main not being available.

Had a wonderful time, great food! Service was good but wouldn't consider service to be 'great'. Would definitely go again though - good for a family lunch!

Had a lovely night with a friend, would be good if small portions of Fish and Chips were available and it was delicious but a very large portion.

The restaurant was over croweded due to it being Mother's Day. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive and then one of the orders was incorrect. Quite disappointing for such a special occasion.

HAD A VERY PLEASANT MOTHERING SUNDAY MEAL IN LOVELY SURROUNDINGS. FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, WITH PLENTY OF CHOICE. STAFF WERE VERY POLITE AND SERVED THE MEAL WITH A SMILE. WILL CERTAINLY GO AGAIN.

Staff were very good, cheerful and very busy but we were somewhat disappointed with the food. The lamb appeared to be pre-sliced rather than carved, although tasty. The new potatoes served to my 96yr old mother were more than al-Dante and she found them very hard to even cut, and although the vegetarian dish was tasty it was very badly dished up looking very unappetising. There was also a lack of cutlery laid on the table with staff having to bring items to us with each course, omitting to provide us with a fork alongside our spoon for the desert. All in all we felt we missed out on what should have been a very nice experience in a restaurant which had come highly recommended.

We had Sunday lunch. Food was lovely. Very reasonably priced. The service could be improved a little though. We went at the end of Sunday lunch service and looked tired and fed up.

Food was amazing, service was quick but we liked that, staff were really friendly. My husband had 3 courses and enjoyed all 3 I had a starter and main and couldn't manage a desert. Have already recommended the Vernon to friends

Excellent evening. Food very good, staff very attentive. Thanks Apparently I need to enter 25 words when 9 would do, so this bit is just waffle which wasn't on the menu! Please note Quandoo!!

Great quality food, pleasant decor and good ambience. Sautéd potatoes appeared to be simply new boiled. Portion size of salmon dish was a bit mean. Waitresses were pleasant enough, but one was unsuitably dressed for the type of restaurant.

Overall it was ok but didn't hit he mark I'd expect in regards the small details, for example drinks served in the wrong branded glasses , not asked how duck or lamb should be cooked , wrong cut of lamb served , no sauce on pudding . Cappuccino was a latte etc These are the things that decide if a place is ok or it's very good

A little disappointing. Chemical smell when we went in. Three extremely small scallops on a huge plate £10 nearly - not value. Pastry on pie was soggy, top and bottom, and included a piece of paper! Not what we thought it would be. Service was good and everyone was attentive and pleasant. Seasonal veg should not be French beans in January!

Stayed here just for the one night, it has been refurbished well, the room we had was very small for a double but comfortable with a nice ensuite, no where to sit in the bedroom. The food was good however the breakfast for the price per night was a little lacking, very small choice of cereals, only one fruit juice on offer and really only a full English breakfast was on offer, for the cost we would of expected more, nut it was a comfortable stay.

Fantastic Food and excellent service, couldn't ask for more. You get a really warm welcome when you walk in here, all the staff are freindly and polite and the standard of the food is excellent, everything for our table was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic, just a really fantastic place to meet friends for dinner. Would highly recomend

Nice food. Nice decor. Pleasant staff. Just lacked the wow factor. Would recommend a visit. Liked the ability to choose from the menu rather than be restricted to valentine menu.

Burger was dry and over cooked. Staff rushed us in and out even though the restaurant was quiet (as usual). Overpriced for the quality of food.

The Vernon has been thoughfully fitted out and it is a lovely setting with good dining ambiance. Attentive service and well cooked food. It's competition is The Forest at Feckenham which does it all a little bit better. So its the Forest for us but there's not a lot in it.

Food was ok but limited in choice, service was not very attentive and drinks service was very average. Apple crumble had no crumble but was a nice apple pie so not sure why it wasn't sold as apple pie!! Best Ales were off

The restaurant is very nice and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food was very nice but the menu has not changed for a while. To encourage people to go more regularly perhaps a specials menu would be a good idea. There were not many people there and so there was not much atmosphere, would have expected a festive menu and better atmosphere.

We had a very good meal which was value for money. Not having been to the Vernon for 3 years having had a previous bad experience there, the standard has returned and it is now back on my list of places to eat.

Good food, varied menu and warm welcome. Only marked down one point as early evening atmosphere can be a little quiet. Recommended for groups of all sizes.
