Booked Sunday lunch, when it came the meat and most of the vegetables were cold! Hoping it was a 'one off', would try there again!

Came across this resteraunt by default but uncovered a little gem. Not easy to find but great ambience inside the rough walled cellar with a good menu including early bird. Food well presented. Nothing to fault it. It is now on our list of regular Saturday night foodie places.

Lovely restaurant, quite hard to find but well worth the hunt for it!!!! The staff did advise they were hoping to get approval for signage in the future.

Lovely meal at “chop night” Sirlion strip not a strip at all but big steak of gorgeous beef. Beautifully cooked with great sides. Didn’t want to lose lovely taste left in mouth, but didn’t regret the sweet of toffee apple panacotta. Replacing one great taste with another. Great and genuinely friendly service from Anna and Jane. I recommend a visit.

Very nice cosy atmosphere, staff are very friendly and seem genuinel and want to help and look after you. The food was cooked to perfection, Butternut squash soup was delightful and the Sunday lunch very tasty with an extra pot of gravy as standard - would loose the cabbage and replace with peas. Well worth a try

Beautiful venue, food was average. Expected more. Stout sponge was incredibly dry. Food well presented but was a bit lacklustre. Felt like it was missing something to bring all of the elements together. Overall view, nice but left feeling slightly disappointed - doesn't quite hit the mark.

Tasty food very small quantities and extremely overpriced. Food was very cool and not once were we asked if everything was ok so that we could mention the food was not warm enough. I was given the smallest espresso I have ever seen. It’s a great shame that a new restaurant in Norton will not make it because the owners have not got it right. The proof being that by 9 pm we were the only people left eating and only 2 other tables used during the evening.

We visited in mid December and were so impressed we decided to spend New Year's Eve here. my goodness we were not disappointed. from start to finish everything was superb and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff worked so hard to make everything run smoothly and it was perfect. we can't wait to come back.

I love it in here. Because it’s under the ships, it’s quite small, but in a good way. It makes it feel quaint and cosy, and not too noisy or too busy. It also means the food comes quickly. The food is so tasty and they use local produce too. The price is decent and you get value for your money in terms of quality and flavour. They also do set menus here so it’s worth a visit, just to try the incredible food.

The food was very undercooked, we sent it back as 4 of our group had ordered duck and all were bloody. The food that came back was only a half portion and still very undercooked and tough.

Fabulous tasting food in a very warm and comfortable restaurant. Vaulted brick ceiling and walls along with candle lit tables adds to the charming atmosphere. Great service and food, will definitely go again.

Fantastic service, staff and food. Such a unique quirky place which was amazing. A very “made to feel special” experience and Chris took time to chat and talk us through the history of the place. We had the taster menu which was beautiful and very filling indeed. The chef was very friendly and jovial too (big chap with a beard) the younger of the two. Highly recommended and a must visit. Well Done! Mr & Mrs Kevin Rich, Norton.

Been here several times since opening and highly recommend The Violet Green. The restaurant has a perfectly styled setting, coupled with a relaxed atmosphere and excellent choice of music. It’s a calm and relaxed environment that allows you to destress and enjoy your evening. The service is attentive, friendly and uplifting. Food is consistently excellent, it’s refreshing to see regional produce and suppliers. The Chef certainly maximises flavours on a plate and a league above other restaurants. The owners have thought of everything and the restaurant delivers on all levels.

Quirky but wonderful restaurant. The small plates work really well, and definitely give you a complete experience of being able to taste a lot of the menu, using produce from the butchers across the road. Will definitely return.

Gorgeous quirky and lovely staff! Menu very confusing and all dishes came out at different times, however she did mention this and said the plates would come once ready. We ordered chicken leg thinking it would be a chicken leg but it was a patte type dish made with chicken leg, it was delicious but not what I was expecting, I would recommend starters and mains as a choice on menu and also the £40 tasting menu would be definitely better £20 each as £40 a lot when you don’t know what’s coming, I would come again if menu was simpler
