First vist, loved it, food was excellent and really good value for money, lovely staff and thought the venue was brilliant - we will be back 😃
We had a really nice dinner at The Winged Ox! The atmosphere was relaxed and the service friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend a visit, especially if you are going to see a gig at St Lukes next door.
Great food, lots of choice. We had 2 little ones and they love this place, good menu and very chilled for kids too. Would recommend to friends and will defo be back ;-)
What an absolutely great place. Excellent food & a brilliant atmosphere. Also fantastic live music on a Sunday afternoon... Altogether this place is first class!
We've been to the winged ox loads of times since it opened and it's remained a firm favourite with us. Food has always been top class and the staff are the friendliest in any of the places we go. If we ask our wee boy where he would like to go, his answer is always the same...St Luke's! The staff give so much of their time to him (and seem happy to do this) and that means that myself and my husband aren't stressed out about him wandering around talking to everyone! The staff all appear to get on well and look happy at their work with makes for a lovely atmosphere....and as I said earlier the food is always great! We're happy, 3 year old is happy, we will continue to go to the winged ox! Thanks!
Second visit to the winged ox. Last Thursday being my first. But was dramatic change in food quality. I invited 4 friends with me this time as was so happy with previous week. Food service. Staff were all great so much so I bought all staff a drink. But Saturday was realy disappointing spent £120 on food bill but much of the food was left. Pork Nellie bites were dripping of fat. Chicken wings were pink in the middle. Boneless wings were fine. One of the steaks was sent back as not cooked to order. Nachos with chillie witch I thought were home cooked must have been bottom of the bag as were all broke and a bowl of crumbs. Rice was under cooked. Saturday was realy busy compared to Thursday so don't know if this is the ushal standard for a busy day as Thursday was not so busy and amazing. I will be back as hope this may have just been a bad day. Service and staff were still lovely. Just food quality realy poor.
We ate here at hogmany food was great , staff attentive and the party for hogmany was good and well organised. If I had 1 gripe it would be that a piper for the bells would have finished the night off, we had 4 English friends with us and it would have been a real treat for them but a great night had by all. Its our second visit, was there for a gig a few weeks ago. Look forward to our next visit.
Looks like a fantastic venue and we would really like to return to hear the big band only thing we didn't like was the TV screens on every wall. The staff very pleasant and attentive, the steak was cooked perfectly and the wine was lovely. I don't drink beer but my husband does and was very impressed with the range and quality.
Great service from David who managed to squeeze extra friends in at short notice. The bar staff are all great. Friendly and professional. Our party of 8 all had different dishes and they were all delicious. Great place with good range of beer on draught and in bottles. A glass of red wine didn't taste right and was immediatly swapped for another which was very nice. Great place and dog friendly too!!!!
great friendly service and even friendlier for the dogs. Food was great. Came across here when attending a BBC event at St Lukes and wanted to come back to try properly and loved the fact is is dog friendly as we have a 12 week old lab so gives us somewhere to go for a drink now without leaving him
The service was first class. A warm welcome before we were seated at the lovely booth table we had requested when we booked. The food was absolutely delicious - the brisket chilli was the best chilli I have ever tasted. Would highly recommend this place. Loved it and will definitely be back again and again!
Staff and management are exceptional. Went with partner three kids and a birthday dog. Everyone LOVED it especially the birthday dog. Food was along the lines of especially well done pub grub with pastas chicken wings and burgers. Everything was clearly made from scratch. Can't wait to go back. Neither can my dog.
The Winged Ox has a great atmosphere and good variety of food choices. I really enjoyed my meal and the staff were really friendly. Thanks :)
What a hip place....brilliant atmosphere and surroundings. Something for everyone (including the dog) and the food is great (if a little unusual)! Good choice of drinks and the prices are good for the city!!! Staff friendly....service a tiny bit sketchy when busy but to be expected.....love the place and the staff :-)
Good steak cooked to correct level, perhaps under-seasoned, but the sauce and the accompanying chips ,tomato and mushroom made up for that. Service very helpful and there was a decent selection of cocktails and beers. Wine list a little limited but offers a few options. Overall pretty happy. The music was a bit muddy...is it onor is it Not? The
Four of us had flat iron steak meal - it was delicious. The service was excellent. We had a lovely time and would recommend The Winged Ox to anyone.
We enjoyed the overall experience of our night. staff were helpful & pleasant, although I didn't feel the food was as good as what I was expecting going by the reviews + pics on the website + facebook etc. food was very basic for the prices, although the venue was fab would defo go back for the atmosphere.
Now my favourite place in Glasgow. staff who are passionate about the food and drinks. Relaxed atmosphere amazing food and you can bring your dog, dog menu is brilliant and a real treat for you canine pal. On the human menu the spinach dip is to die for.
Very busy when we were in but service was good. Once the order was in we didn't have to wait long for our food. Our party of 6 all had different thing and everyone enjoyed their meal. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Will go back.
Fantastic!! Service and food were great, can't fault it and will definitely be back. Charlie Miller sarnie was delicious and a very fussy teenager loved the macaroni. Even our furbaby ate every bit of his lunch and enjoyed all the attention he got from staff.
Service was prompt and very friendly Even although the place was extremely busy. Food was delicious. I had chilli which was spicy and plenty of it. My friends had scotch pie which was full a chunky beef that melt in your mouth. Top class
Friendly efficient staff. Dogs are welcome and accepted by all. Chilli was delicious. Disappointed in grilled macaroni cheese as I didn't realise it was a toastie and also in the portion of the chocolate fudge cake. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would go back
Our trip was amazing. We have 2 very large dogs and one smaller one, all of which were catered for amazingly well and staff really went out of their way to accommodate us. The people were also really happy and the food was fantastic!
Food was great value and although i wasn't drinking I will definitely be back to sample the cocktail menu! I was greeted straight away by a really friendly member of staff who was helpful and attentive the whole evening. Overall a great night!
My first visit. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was great especially the nachos, best I've had. Charging silly prices for drinks in the music venue though, a can of irn bru and a can of lager £6.50!! It wouldn't put me off going back though, had a good night.
Really good service. Relaxed attentive staff who knew all about the food. Had a very enjoyable meal. I had nachos and then gumbo. Delish. Great atmosphere . Then went to a gig in the renovated church part. What's not to like?
Excellent friendly, personable staff! Amazing food great value for the money. Fresh and tasty. Great range of beers. Our well behaved dog was welcomed with her own 'doggy menu' and bowl of water. Great sense of humour too! Not pretentious !!
A fantastic venue, delicious food and overall terrific atmosphere. Great service from friendly helpful staff. We were there for RHTLF - the sound quality and atmosphere in the music hall was perfect. Couldn't rate the whole night highly enough.
Great atmosphere in an eclectic setting close to Barrowland. Arrived earlier and table was available. Very friendly staff with brilliant food, great portion size and drinks. Busy with plenty of patrons with their dogs who also enjoyed the setting.
Excellent meal presented well. A varied menu offering a dynamic range of mains. Staff very pleasant. The only negative aspect was that the venue was a bit cold, I ate quiet early but I'm sure later in the evening it would have warmed up a bit.
Lovely food as usual. Just one issue - my dog's food was served in what looked like a cardboard lid for a burger. Can you go back to proper dog bowls please? If i hadn't grabbed it off her she'd have torn it to bits. Thanks!
Food was delicious and the whole place looks brilliant. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Great selection of beer with a nice beer garden. Had a great afternoon with friends here and we'll definitely be back.
Great food, nice venue. Lovely to see so many dog inside as well! Would highly recommend and will definitely try to get back there. Very glad we made a reservation - it was pretty busy!
Friendly staff, and an excellent beer selection. Food was good in the most part. I was disappointed by the Mac and cheese. A massive portion but a little boring. The deep fried jam sandwich was a massive hit, as were the wings.
Nice bar with cool decor. Food was good and a very fair price. There was a few things I wanted to try from the menu and will be back. I would recommend this bar.
The staff were lovely, very friendly and super nice to my dog. The food was delicious, served quickly, and reasonably priced, and there was even a special dog menu. Will definitely go back.
Food was amazing and they even served lunch for my dog too :). Brill find, I'll be back for sure. Great place for the summer as they've got a beer garden as well.
Great food, vibrant atmosphere and brilliant staff ,would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a casual night out,the service was first class as was the food, the staff were very helpful and friendly
Excellent food and great staff! We like to visit when we can as it being a dog friendly place with a menu for the dogs its great, prefect for Sunday brunch as well.
Great venue, great atmosphere and brilliant, friendly staff! Been twice in the last week , ate good food , drank excellent beer and watched top bands playing. Looking forward to going back.
Great meal for four plus a dog in a friendly warm environment. Food was fantastic and the dog menu was an added bonus. £65 for four meals, deserts and drinks. 5 star.
Great place to have some drinks and or food, we had both and the food was lovely, fantastic that kids are allowed in until 9pm also, will most definitely be back again.
Had a great meal and a few drinks for my wife's bitrhday last night. Good food and setting. Music great and staff brilliant also. the teenage son & Daughter's new favourite venue.👍
It was our first time here and had a very nice meal, the staff were efficient and friendly and there was a great atmosphere too. Very busy so book your table.
Took the grandkids after the panto, great choice of food and nice atmosphere will be back with my hubby at a later date to eat and enjoy the live music.
Good atmosphere with good music , well to my taste , staff were first class and really helpful. Limited menu but hey it does not claim to cordon blue. Recommend venue for a good night .
The food was great, the drink selection was good as well. The music was a bit louder than expected, but would be fine if I was just going for drinks. I'll definitely be going back!
Been here before, this time it was mobbed, concert on next door. Big greedy portions, cheap wine, and lovely staff. Pub quiz was on the night we were there, wish we could have stayed longer.
What a great place to have dinner with friends! The atmosphere was delightful and the food delicious. The staff was both helpful and caring. We will be back soon.
Fantastic, staff were very attentive to my aunt who has MS,they made our visit a pleasure, the food was excellent as always, would recommend a visit to St lukes
