Lovely food. Not rushed at all. Would say best meal on in a very large area.
Wonderful food and attentive staff, we will be back for more
As always, extremely high standard of food presented and Served well by attentive and friendly staff at a very Affordable price.Thoroughly recommend Truffles to anyone who appreciates quality, value for money and Good service. We have already booked 4 theme evenings and are thoroughly looking forward to them.
Brittany theme menu was a maritime delight! Crevettes a l’Armoricaine (prawns in a tomato and cognac sauce) was followed by a classic Moules frites. A Breton fish stew was the main attraction, with an indulgent Kouign Amann (Breton butter cake) to round things off - with a good choice of wines and friendly, efficient service, this all made for an excellent evening.
A very enjoyable experience with excellent food and service. Thank you
Wonderful food, great presentation. Very friendly and always checking everything was ok
We had great food in a lovely place, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal!
We visited hoping for good quality and a special meal in our local town, and we were not disappointed. Had a great evening. Every course was gorgeous. Service was excellent, food was fabulous. Lovely little restaurant and we'll be back. There was music on in the background which, if it had been just a touch louder, would have enhanced the atmosphere (it was just a little too quiet - at times it was as though our conversation could be too easily overheard) b
Quality of food was good , had a nice meal . The place was not full, so lacked some atmosphere. I think there needs to be a blast of flavour added and a few more people ... it’s just a bit too subtle.
An evening built around a delicious menu of Spring-themed dishes, featuring stand-out seasonal ingredients including slow-cooked breast of lamb, asparagus, roasted breast of spring chicken, confit leg, jersey royals, and poached rhubarb - along with good wines and excellent service - fabulous!
Wonderful food very pleasant staff and all round good night
interesting MENU...UNUSUAL TO SEE HASLETT AND PARKIN ON A MENU IN THE SOUTH OF ENGLAND. . cooking WELL ABOVE AVERAGE AND SERVICE FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT.
Lovely food and service again. You have become our 'go to' restaurant.
Really excellent food, will definitely go again, and would recommend
Ladies who lunch - a birthday treat for my mother and her friends. Fabulous food, friendly and welcoming service, good wine and a relaxing atmosphere - a great time was had by all.
Lovely food, great wine and a tasty cheese board to finish with
Another smashing monthly theme menu. The apparent simplicity of the 'Puddings' theme belied an impressive and considered range of dishes from savoury to sweet, with cleverly-balanced textures and flavours - typified by the homemade black pudding with caramelised apple and roasted walnuts. Fine cooking, good wine, and friendly, efficient service - excellent!
Such fabulous food on what was a pudding themed evening. Think Yorkshire pudding, black pudding, suet pudding and then jam roly poly with home made stawberry ice cream. Well worth the money.
Lovely relaxed lunch with great food and friendly, efficient service. I couldn't resist the homemade guanciale with the pork brawn croquette starter. Followed this with perfectly cooked Red Mullet Fillets, and finished with seasonal poached rhubarb and honey ice cream, followed b a fabulously rich and smooth coffee.
The March Theme Evening took us on a tour of the 'Food of the Alps', with dishes drawn from across the region. Imaginative and sophisticated cooking produced a hearty and warming selection including Käsespätzle and Schweinebraten, topped off with Peppermint schnapps hot chocolate - fab!
Fantastic food and an exciting menu. We had a lovely evening.
I can not rate this restaurant highly enough, The food is amazing they really do know how to put ingredients together to get the most amazing dishes I am extremely fussy when i eat out, , i can cook well and hate to pay for food i can make and cook better myself, this most definitely is not the case here A** food A** service A** atmosphere
Beautiful food first time we have been to Truffles. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent, relaxed lunch with quality cooking and friendly, efficient service - best venue in Fareham by some margin - highly recommended
Always wonderful food and really friendly staff. The menu is changed according to what is in season so there are often new things to try.
Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, the Staff were inviting and very friendly and also the food was absolutely brilliant. I would recommend truffles very highly to anyone.
Really lovely food, definitely worth spending a bit extra for a treat on a special occasion. The chicken was delicious and my partner had the beef, which he said was excellent. Will definitely return.
February’s ‘Spice’ theme menu was a subtle, flavourful journey. First to South India and a delicious Mulligatawny Soup; second, to Thailand for refreshing grilled marinated squid, Thai salad, and nam jim; North Africa supplied a meltingly-fabulous Mechoui, with homemade mint labneh and couscous; next, the complex depth and layering of flavour in a venison rendang with fragrant rice took us to Malaysia; finally, home again with Yorkshire parkin, cardamom sorbet, and caramel sauce. A beautifully balanced series of dishes which expertly demonstrated that spicing has everything to do with flavour and very little to do with heat. Together with excellent service, this was another memorable evening at Truflles.
excellent food and service. Staff were very prompt and attentative and food was delicious. The resturant was cosy and warm and ideal for groups and couples.
Lovely, relaxed lunch venue just a short walk from the bustle of the shops - fabulous starter of Pork and Guanciale, followed by a main of Pan-Roasted Venison Haunch, and Calvados panna cotta to finish - and all available on the set lunch menu - excellent cooking, friendly, efficient service, and great value - for me, the first choice in Fareham by a long way.
Top class start to 2019 at Truffles. Their January Theme Evening featured inventive takes on 'Pub Classics'. The white onion 'soup of the day had a great depth of flavour and velvety texture. This was followed by a 'prawn cocktail' of plump, juicy herb-crusted prawns in an iceberg shell with salsa and a delicate Marie Rose sauce. 'Chicken in a Basket' was the highlight of the evening with home-brined, smoked and roasted chicken, with crunchy slaw in a parmesan basket - absolutely delicious. The main event was sophisticated 'sausage and mash', with venison sausages, game faggot, smooth mash, and wilted kale, with agro dolce peppers to balance the richness of the game. Finally, a light, flavourful treacle sponge pudding with custard. Together with excellent service and a good Cote de Beaune, this was a great start to 2019 dining.
Excellent meal. Beautifully presented and served. Will definitely go again. The choice on the set menu was original and delicious. Much better than we have been offered elsewhere.
Restaurant was very cold. Food was good but service was poor, our party of 3 all received our starters at different times and each of us had to eat before the others were served as the food was getting cold.
not impressed with the servcie , there wa no atmosphere in there could do with a makeover...food just ok ..we wont be returning again ...l
We decided to go for the Christmas menu and were not disappointed . There was plenty of choice and the food was delicious as always along with excellent service.
Attentive staff, tasty food, varied menu; we’ll definitely continue to visit! A local artist’s works and candle-lit surroundings made for a homely feel but the quality and presentation of the food reminded us we that were dining well. I’ve not given Truffles the top rating because bathroom facilities needed a facelift and the walls needed a new lick of paint in some areas. Nevertheless, the staff couldn’t do more for us and even made extra personal touches to make our wedding anniversary celebration even more memorable, which was most appreciated.
Excellent food and unassuming atmosphere surprisingly quiet so a well kept secret. Food is ordinary fare inventively prepared, delicious. Try it it's really worth it.
Absolutely wonderful meal, we took my sisterbwhobwas visiting from Canada who tried venison for then1st time, the service was perfect, we would thoroughly reccommend. It was a nice leasurly meal no rush.
2nd visit. Opted for a la carte menu, the fillet steak was fabulous and the chocolate Guinness cake dìvine. Not the cheapest restaurant around but so worth the money. Will visit again.
