Good and friendly service with help in choosing dishes that were unfamiliar to us. Reasonable prices and generous proportions. You can now bring your own wine with a cover charge of £1 per person. Wished we had known this before we went.

As usual the food was great ,the food is consistently good at Urban Choolah and good value for money. The talli in particular are worth the visit. It was a busy night but we were still served quickly by friendly staff

Really interesting food. The restaurant were happy to adjust spice levels on my food as I struggle with alot of chilli and my dish (lamb sizzler) was super tasty bit not spicy. My friends had the theralli which they really enjoyed. We went on a busy Saturday night and there was a little wait between starters and mains but waitress came and apologised before we could say anything so you felt like you hadn't been forgotten. Overall another very good meal.

My partner and I chose a visit to Urban Choola to celebrate New Year's Eve and really enjoyed our meal. It was our first visit and we were both impressed with the service and the quality of the food. Although the restaurant is fairly basic in its decor, it is very welcoming and friendly. Highlights of our meal included onion and potato bhajis, really excellent, lamb and spinach Palak and the vegetable Kahari. We will certainly return soon and would highly recommend this venue for anyone wanting quality Indian food at very reasonable prices.

Great restaurant and food. The platters are excellent if you like a bit of everything with your curry. Nice beers on offer (jaipur and Pink IPA). Only gripe is the pickle trays could be bigger!

Very good. Very quiet as mid week. Food a little hot for me but very tasty. Waiter very attentive. Food more authentic than the usual curry places. I would recommend.

Good food and a nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced too. I liked the little tea candles they put on the table. The chai was a bit weak.

It was a mixed experience, the service was great ! And the food was tasty however it was to spicy for 4 out of 6 in our group so it meant there was a lot left over. Even the chips were spiced so maybe ask if you want milder options !

Food average, ambience okay (could do with more subdued lighting). Service slow. Good location. Clean and well decorated. Overall nice place but have had tastier Indian food.

Good service and helpful staff who explained what the dishes were and we did not feel hurried. Very reasonably priced and different dishes from the usual Indian restaurant.

Took my parents for a Friday night curry and they loved it! As curry fans they're hard to please and we all really enjoyed our meal. I was pretty particular about several things whilst there (pregnant and fussy) and they couldn't have done more to make me comfortable. Definetly would reccommend it!

The platter is worth trying, especially as I like trying a few different things, can easily be shared between two, or two between three if you order an extra main and side.

Great service, atmosphere and most importantly delicious food, served hot. I had the Thali and was really pleased with my choice. The flavours were excellent.

very good poppadoms with sauces. We had vegetable thali as mains - very tasty. Unfortunately you can't choose from the rest of the menu for your main thali dish - only from a limited selection. We did ask if we could pay more in order to have a slightly different main but they weren't flexible on this point. No idea why. Nice discreet service. Good atmosphere.

I had a Thali platter and The Lamb Karahi was delicious! Perfectly cooked, high quality lamb in a rich sauce which was packed full of flavour! It was nice to try a few different sides (came with the platter) that I wouldn't normally order but next time I would probably just order a starter & main course. Although it was also nice to have a dessert to tuck straight into soon as I'd polished off my the rest. Service was great.

The menu is interesting compared to standard Indian restaurants and good value for money. The bread was lovely and fresh. Portions size was spot on.

Great meal with attentive staff. Enjoyed a selection of starters and then shared a Thali between the two of us. A real Indian 'tapas' experience.

Got put right by the door in the corridor which wasn't great as there appeared to be plenty of seats in the main restaurant. However the service was quick and attentive and the food was pretty good. Would recommend the Thali as it's good value and you get to try lots of different dishes in one. It's not quite India or even Brick Lane, but it's tasty Indian Indian street food for Sheffield.

We had dinner on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant had no atmosphere. General decor rather dowdy. Quality of food was good. Waiting at table rather lack lustre. Overall it was not a restaurant we would be inclined to go back to

We had the thali platters which were delicious- really enjoyed having a variety of things to try. A little bit quiet, but then we booked for a Thursday at 7! A few more tables came in later and made it a livlier atmosphere.

Very helpful front of house, especially the waitress. The food was good but not impressed that we had to pay for poppadums when they are usually complimentary.

Very good food at a sensible price. I like non oily curries which you get here. Service was also very good. No longer do bring your own alcohol though which we did not know until we arrived but won't stop us going back.

Absolutely lovely authentic Indian street food - would highly recommend the Thali platter. Friendly, attentive staff. Only criticism would be where we sat, slightly in no mans land between the front and the back of the restaurant, where noone else was sitting.

Good food, good value, waiters peculiarly lacking character. Nice chaps, a bit flat. - This website doesn't value brevity and is insisting I write more.

The best Indian restaurant for quality food at a great price. All the waiters are helpful and attentive. I am garlic intolerant and have eaten here several times and they always amend the dishes to meet my requirements.

The staff seemed disinterested and hardly smiled. Apart from the manager who was very pleasant and tried to sort the problem with the starter which was over cooked. The mains was wonderful but overall a little disappointing experience especially as I've been wanting to visit for so long.

Ate quite often at Choola but in previous location. This experience didn't measure up to the high standard already set. Due to new location, increase in prices and no more BYO (drinks were pricey and the wine I ordered not really worth it) I probably won't return. The food was fine, I tried something new so couldn't make a direct comparison with any of meals I had already had but previously i would have rated my food as excellent.
