Great service and food in a perfect environment. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality night out in a chilled location, who enjoys top Indian cuisine
First time we have been to urban choola since they moved from London road. Food is excellent, atmosphere is good & the staff are friendly. We will be back.
Food good, slow service on clearing tables. Ladies toilet not working properly. Not a place I would visit again on a Saturday night, but would in the week.
Authentic, tasty Indian food including some unusual dishes not usually found in Indian restaurants all at a reasonable price. An enjoyable experience with courteous staff. All three of us enjoyed our meal although one was a little too spicy for his liking. This was our second visit and will definitely come again.
Nice friendly restaurant with very helpful staff. Food is good and they serve some traditional indian dishes. Some of the food ordered came really late as they had forgotten about it. However they then offered to give it for free which was good. The Bhel puri is a must. The thaali was ok.
Great service and the most delicious food, with such a good variety on the menu too. Plus there is a good choice for vegetarians. Also the option to bring your own wine is always a winner!
Very limited menu. Service can be improved. The young people serving although courteous did not know basics of Indian food. Food very bland and lacking flavor. In short very disappointing. Don't think will ever go again.
Food very good, service similarly very good, and the venue was very pleasant. The Lassi was quite expensive given the size of the glass in which it came, and the three containers of 'pickles' to go with the popadoms were also very small.
Restaurant excellent, unfortunately the on line booking system hadn't worked & while I had confirmation of my booking the restaurant had no record of it.They did manage to fit us in & the food & service were very good
Good food as always but has lost a little of the atmosphere and edge of LondonRd. Thali was brilliant but not served on wooden platter as before. Has become a little like other Indian restaurants and while the food is good the restaurant now doesn't seem individual enough
Best Indian restaurant in Sheffield and the bring your own booze is a massive plus.
Lovely food, but if you go for the Thalia platter I'd recommend skipping a starter, unless you are very hungry. Clean restaurant, food nicely presented. I'd say service could be a little sharper, but think this will improve with experience. Staff all friendly and pleasant. Would I go again. Yes I definitely will.
Excellent food. Good popadoms dips and bread. Be better if they had a proper fish curry but other than that couldn't fault it. Would go again.
Food is really tasty and theres an interesting menu. Good value. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive service. Location near Coop Banner Cross very local for me. Would recommend.
Amazing food really tasty. The food is as good as when it was on London Road but ambience has definitely improved and the portion sizes are still good but not massive and almost overwhelming like on London road. Fab atmosphere. Manager was really on the ball.
Friendly atmospheric. Good food. Service also good. Our second visit, and we brought friends with us to share the experience. Not disappointed. Hope to visit again soon
Very disappointed with the food. I went with a party of four and we all agreed it was not up to standard. We always go to the Ashoka and thought we'd give your resturant a try. Sorry but never again. Thanks
Pleasant restaurant and service. Food is slightly different from standard Indian restaurants. Portion sizes were not large but sufficient for us and as it is BYO with a £1 per person corkage it works out as good value if you are drinking. We would go again.
Incorrect menu on website. Starter (a tiny onion bhaji), main course Thali, dips, rice, nan and dessert (in a dip dish and just looking like another dip) all served simultaneously on one plate. Flavours bland and hot items only warm. No alcohol unless you bring your own. My wife quite enjoyed her dish so will give it another try due to the very pleasant staff. Sorry to be the odd one out but they have a long way to go to match House of Spice.
AMAZING food. Prawn thali is the best in Sheffield. The team have done an excellent job with the new restaurant in Ecclesall Road. Wish I could eat there every day!!
Very enjoyable meal, lovely food and atmosphere. The service was friendly. The waiters seemed a bit inexperienced however I am sure when they have been there a few weeks they will have learnt the ropes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would definitely eat here again.
It's the authentic taste, the atmosphere and the friendly service that makes this a good night out. Wishing Urban Choola success in its new location.
Very good food, and reasonably priced. However the waiters were dressed in polo shirts and trainers, not a great look for the style of restaurant. Also wouldn't serve is plain rice (?!). Feels like they're new and still working things out. Otherwise a great place and we will be back.
Love this place. Great Thali and excellent atmosphere. I'm looking forward to trying out their new premises on Eccy road now.
I go to this restaurant regularly and always find the food and the service excellent. I am looking forward to the move to a new venue but hope that the new size will not prevent the personal touches that are to be found in the present restaurant
possibly the best Asian food I have had in Sheffield . All seemed to be fresh cooked and very tasty . Hope when they move to Eccleshall Rd. things stay as good .
If you're tired of the same old predicable curry and want to explore then be prepared for something different. Urban Choola is a bold definition a new fusion street food category where all the theater, spontaneity and authenticity combine to create a totally new taste sensation...and satisfying too!
The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We ha a member of our party no too keen on very spicy food and they made her a special dish to her requirements, Brilliant!
Great little place to eat. Good menu. Food served quickly. Very tasty. Good portions. Friendly staff. Good location. Will go again. Very pleased and satisfied.
Wonderful food, excellent choices and great service! Definitely our go to curry restaurant, the thali is divine!! Will miss then when they cross the dark side into Eccelsall Road in a month.
As usual, a wonderful meal served by pleasant staff. The restaurant is buzzing with satisfied customers. When they move to new premises I hope that they can manage to keep the same standards up. Good Luck to them.
Excellent authentic food good atmosphere and very pleasant staff good value for money. Our 4th visit here and not disappointed at all. Good vegetarian selection.
Once again the food was excellent. We shared the karate prawns as a starter which were subtly spiced and sublime. For mains we each had a thali dish, which managed to defeat us both on quantity. The quality of the food and service remains consistently good.
Lovely food, especially the starters that are fresh crunchy and tasty 😊 We had three starters between two of us and a vegetarian Thali, which was loads between us
The food is always first class. It is hot , tasty and high quality. Obviously the cooks use high quality basic products. The staff are always helpful and pleasant. Look forward to their upcoming move to ne premises.
Visited yesterday at 5pm good time to go as this restaurant always busy. Always Good food. Especially the starters!! Been visiting since they opened never had a bad meal
A fantastic evening superb food at a fantastic price and it's bring your own bottle! I would highly recommend this place a must try go for it!
It was fantastic. Food was lovely, and a nice change. Staff was very friendly, already planning our next trip! Especially like that you can bring your own wine.
Fantastic choice and waiters are very accommodating. I am garlic intolerant and the chef always ensures the menu is altered to meet my needs. Plus it is a BYO every night of the week. Brilliant.
The food is always excellent. Different from the mainstream Indian restaurant, well prepared. The staff are lovely. The ambience not too good but OK for lunchtime.
The food is just great, well cooked and well presented. I highly recommned the tahli which will keep you full for most of the next day too.
We ordered Pav bhaji, Chicken biryani and lamb biryani. Pav bhaji was fantastic.. Chicken biryani and lamb biryani, as usual fantastic. Worth for the money....
Food was delicious (would recommend the Thali trays as you get to try lots of little dishes) and lovely, cosy atmosphere, but we did wait quite a long time for our food.
Three of us went there, we really enjoyed Thali, plenty of food!! After meal, we enjoyed chai very much. We'll be back soon :) :)
Top notch as per usual. Bring your own booze and excellent curry make for a brilliant evening.
Lovely little restaurant, homely and a great price. I had a fantastic Thali. The food was fresh and well sourced. The service was great. Thanks for such a lovely evening.
Urban Choola has great food, friendly service. A different menu. Bring your own wine/beer makes for good value meal out. Recommend for informal meals and get togethers.
Fantastic food, and terrific staff! First time visit so inevitably a little trepidation. No need - friendly and welcoming staff, and one of the finest vindaloos I have eaten over the past thirty-something years. Truly excellent! Great birthday celebration and each of us enjoyed our chosen thali. Looking forward to the next visit
The staff were so helpful and made you feel welcomed. The food was excellent and I would go back and eat there . Highly recommended.
Exceptional very busy small restaurant with the best Indian Food I have eaten for a long time. Viabrant atmosphere and staff exceptional. Good choice on menu.
