This restaurant is well established and never fails to please. The staff are friendly and helpful and always willing to offer advice if requested regarding unfamiliar items on the menu.
My review is same as I have given during my previous visit to Veer Dhara restaurant, Good food, plenty of variety to choose. Good service.
We took some friends and we were all delighted with the quality of the food.service and decor.Another excellent meal from what I consider to be the best indian restaurant by far in the St Albans area
Good quality food and reasonably priced...... been many times and would go again.... love the chilli cauliflower which is special and would recommend very strongly
Fantastic food, great service. We would highly recommend this place to everyone. Very different from a typical Indian restaurant. Also, loads of choice for vegetarians
Excellent as ever. Early meal as seeing Jools Holland in the Alban Arena - perfect for pre-show meal. So a bit empty to start with but filled up. Service efficient but friendly. Food very very nice - light, not oily, not heavy but tasty. Cobra nice and cold. Brilliant.
Very lovely fresh authentic food. The restaurant was very busy but the service was great. There wasn’t a chicken tikka masala or madras in site which was very refreshing
Excellent service good food and ambiance. We will definitely be going again. All 11 of us It was our third visit. Some of us came from Newcastle.
We had a lovely meal. The staff were extremely welcoming, lovely food as always and the restaurant manager very kindly offered suggestions and very carefully catered to all our needs.
Excellent food, great service! We would definitely come back and bring friends! The Tom Cruz chicken dish was amazing! I would also recommend the mushroom rice!
A decent meal and good service. We enjoyed the evening but there was nothing outstanding about the food or the service. I have had much better Indian meals in both Hemel Hempstead and Tring but it would very unfair to criticize it. Thank you.
Great food. Good quality design and decor. Noise levels rather high -a good acoustic engineer needed to bring this down. But would visit again great food is what it's all about.
Worst service ever. After 2 hours (during which I politely but firmly asked them to hurry up) we hadn't even got our main course. Drinks took at least 15 minutes each time. Food was average but not good enough to make up for the service. They even had the cheek to charge us service! Avoid.
amazing, delicious food but quite slow service. The Tawa dishes sampled were a real highlight. Nice clean restaurant with a real buzz about it. Would highly recommend.
Lovely food & excellent service! We very impressed with our experience at Veer Dhara One & would definitely recommend to others. We’ll definitely be back!
A good selection on the menu. Great quality Indian cuisine with amazing flavours. Attentive service. Recommended if looking for a tasty curry in St Albans.
have been a number of times to this restaurant. But this time not so good. My wife thought her biryani was just a few frozen vegetables mixed together with old rice. Not up to standard she declared. The rest of the meal was satisfactory
Lovely food and venue. Fab cocktails and choice of drinks. Good service and friendly staff. Good value for money . I’d Definitely go back again.
Ate the set menu meat version one of our party had an allergy to raw onions & the chef adapted our meal without having to be asked Great food - very busy - but still enjoyable
My friend and I had a lovely meal . We opted for the set meal. It was gorgeous. We got plenty of food which was a lovely selection. The service was excellent too. Very polite and professional. Hope to return soon & definitely recommend . Thank you Nicola
Authentic Indian taste. The dishes offered both starters and mains were all very nice and full of flavour. The restaurant is conveniently located in the centre of town with some off street parking as well as paid parking close by. The meal was well cooked, presented well and it was all very tasty. Will be coming back again !!
Lovely evening, Nice food and excellent host. will definitely be back. Not sure why I have to enter 25 words when 6 will do but here we go.
Food average at best. Especially meat mains. Service quite good and nice building. Very expensive and 10% service charge added without any clear indication on the menu that this would be the case. Unlikely to return.
Authentic food not too spicy nicely served in a pleasant atmosphere. We had a set menu with one specific item swapped for an alternative, nothing was too much trouble
We had an excellent meal. The menu contains interesting dishes that you won't find everywhere. We love the lobster pepper fry and it lived up to our expectations. Efficient and friendly service too.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff on arrival. Menu full of interest, however during our meal attention to detail lacking in some areas which was disappointing given the premium pricing.
Went here on a busy Saturday night and had a really nice meal. The highlight of the evening was the fantastic lamb chops! Highly recommended
Food & service was great but it tuck 45mins to get the bill good value for money would recommend to others - worth a visit
There are many Indian, but this is by far our favourite Indian restaurant in St Albans. Food is great and the decoration and atmosphere is superb! Highly recommend it.
Food was fantastic. Seemed to be some confusion over what ‘free for 0-5 yr olds’ for the Sunday buffet meant. I was asked if it was OK that I pay for thr 4 year olds in the group on the basis they’d eaten some of the food. Awkward ending to a great meal.
There was a great atmosphere in the restaurant We had the table next to the bar which was not ideal, but great food. Will be returning.
I haven’t been to since they moved to then venue which which is great. The service and food is even better then I remember it. Highly reccomended
The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly. The food was as good as we had hoped for and there are plenty of vegetarian options. The Dal Makhanni should not be missed!
Excellent venue for lunch. Limited menu - which keeps things nice and simple. Great value dishes with attentive service. Nice selection of wines and draught beers. Highly recommended.
Great meal as always. You don’t have to preorder naan!
Always have a great meal there. Despite being a busy Saturday night, service was very attentive. The menu is interesting and not your average Indian which is why I keep going back.
Great service and lovely atmosphere - grabbed a quick delicious meal early Friday evening. The spicy cauliflower is the stuff dreams are made of 😍😘❤️👌😊
slow service, food quality good but overcooked. Parking difficult in the evening, impossible uring the day. St Albans a nice town with a lot of good restaurants.
Food was very good. Staff friendly and courteous. Following main meal however the customer care and attention seemed to tail off as the staff became preoccupied with incoming customers. It took some time for the bill to be delivered, and we were not asked if we wanted dessert or tea / coffee.
Delicious North Indian food, good service, with attentive staff. Pricey but well worth a visit. Good decor.Noisy when full with diners, especially Friday and Saturday evenings.
Deliciously consistent good food in a fun environment whether in a large group or on a small table, attentive service with a good choice of wines
Excellent food in comfortable surroundings. Much more akin to going to a restaurant rather than the common stereotype of "curry houses" with loud tables and lots of lager!
Always top quality food with good service, never had a duff meal there.Would thoroughly recommend it.Sunday buffet is particularly good value for the quality.Try the chops!
A wonderful meal filled with flavour. The service was excellent too. I will definitely be going back.
yeah was good, service was spot on. wish id known you could park opposite would have save a bit of hassle on a rainy night
Unfortunately we had to always ask for service. Ask for someone to take our order and each serving there was someone’s food missing until they were reminded. Then we had to ask for the bill twice and when it came it had a service charge. The food was plain and not very inspiring. It’s a miss and not somewhere I’ll be rushing back to
Never disappointed when we go to Veer Dhara, the food is great and they have Cobra IPA on tap. Customer service would need to be improved to rate higher than a 4 for me.
Food was good but set menu which we weren’t advised of so a little disappointed but will go again service a little slow but was New Year’s Eve
Our first meal at Veer Dhara. The food was delicious, all delicately flavoured. Will definitely be going back to try some of the other dishes on the menu. Good service too.
We were served by 6 different staff , there were no cocktails as they were short staffed. We had the lobster , it was super salty so we ended up sending it back half eaten. The staff were a mix of polite and agitated, bordering on rude because we complained about the lobster ... they did take a couple of side dishes off the bill to compensate which was somewhat thoughtful but for a 30 quid dish I would have expected better service. Won't be returning anytime soon..
