It was our first visit to the Villa Italian in Preston and certainly not our last. The décor is excellent being bright and easy on the eye. The staff were very attentive but bearing in mind the restaurant had only been opened for just 2 months some of the staff were unsure of the pricing structure if you were in the Guild Hall show package. We liked the idea of being able to view the kitchen and how the chef and his team worked so well together and the food was excellent. Keep up the good work !
The food was very good as was the service. We were going to a show so had limited time, but that wasn't a problem. Not so keen on the noise and it was a bit like a noisy school canteen.
Really enjoyed our first visit to Villa Italian, on a Saturday night at 7.30. Very nice atmosphere, not too busy. A nice modern restaurant but not clinical, a nice choice of open and secluded seating. The staff were very friendly and attentive. A good selection of drinks were on offer and a nice traditional menu. The food arrived promptly and was very nice, we both had a starter each and a main course, but sadly no room for a dessert, maybe next time. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Good food and excellent staff. A very enjoyable evening. Would recommend friends to visit and look forward to going again. An asset to Preston City Centre
Great venue, excellent service and reasonably priced but the chef is too heavy handed with the olive oil - my steak was swimming in it - which was a shame because it was beautifully tender - but ruined by the oil slick !!! Also need bigger plates to put the steaks on - mine had to be folded to fit on the plate. Will return but next time ask for no oil or try the pasta.
Not the cheapest Italian in Preston but certainly amongst the best we have tried. Food was excellent, the seafood linguine was packed full of fish as was the seafood risotto. Friendly and helpful staff asking if we were going to the show that evening which gave an extra 10% of the bill. The only reason for not giving a top mark was service was a little slow just pleased we had given ourselves enough time to eat (and enjoy) our meal before the start of the show.. Highly recommended.
Nice place decent food although some dishes not authentic enough for me like peppers in the arrabiatta .In convenient location to vist cocktail bar Review under same ownership next door. Will try again.
Poor menu, bland and boring food. I had the chicken, which was very dry and over cooked. Everything lacked imagination and flare. Would not go back
Excellent service. All staff were lovely and very competent. The food was some of the best food me and my family had tried in a long time.
The food was lovely, both my husband and I really enjoyed our meal 9/10! The staff was friendly and helpful! Will definitely be making a second visit soon.
The food was amazing and the finish to the restaurant was fantastic as well. Only issue would be service. Entering the place, we felt like we were disturbing the man on his computer. He was very dismissive and made the first impression arkward to say the least. Even when I went to pay the bill with him he just waved someone else over to deal with me. I only approached him as he was the only staff member doing nothing sat at his computer, 90% of the time we were there. The rest of the staff, really friendly. Like I said before the food was really good, but we didn't get a check back so it was a good job. Maybe the office worker at the front door would be better positioned on the restaurant floor in this case.
Service good but not rushed, the food was fines do was well presented in pleasant surroundings. Overall the price of the meal was reasonable and would visit again although there is plenty of competition with other Italian restaurants.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE 3-4. It was a very a busy and noisey Sat night when we attended. Our table was not ready when we arrived and so we were seated on high stools at the bar- not ideal initial impression. That said, staff were nevertheless welcoming and attentive and we were found a table within 10 mins. Once comfortably seated our service was good and we had no unreasonable delays. Our food whilst acceptable and inoffensive was rather mediocre, bland and presentation was uninspiring. Generally we were disappointed as did not live up to our expectations and we felt did not represent value for money - generally overpriced. We choose from the a la carte menu - veal chop, swordfish and pizza. Decor and surroundings were pleasant. Not sure if we would go again for meal - possibly try a snack and drink deal special and at a quieter time before dismissing entirely.
We booked the restaurant as we were going to a show. The food was very average my sirloin steak was too salty and so was my partners we could not eat it Boxed it up for the dogs. Our friend's dish ( not a steak) was also too salty. As we were seeing a show they offer 10% discount we forgot to mention this when the bill was paid so we called in after the show. They were still open but would not offer us the 10% we still had out ticket stubs.... very unhelpful
Very nice food. Had to wait about 20 mins for our table which was booked for 8.30 and there were tables not being used so not sure why the wait.
Fire alarm went off just after getting there. Food nice but arrabiati not spicy enough, waitress service good as regularly checking if enough drinks etc
The food was acceptable and on the whole reasonably priced but by no means outstanding. The wine was slightly higher priced than equivalent restaurants perhaps. The atmosphere was far too noisy and frenetic, the background music was anything but background and not of universal appeal.
Beautiful food, from start to finish. The score would have been 6 if the final service had been just a bit better. We sat for sometime after our mains had been cleared and waited for a dessert menu, in the end we had to ask for one. Other than that everything was great.
great food. nice atmosphere , friendly staff , prompt service , genuine Italian, fresh ingredients , loved watching them cook my food and family friendly
Efficient service and good food in a fresh comfortable environment. Ideal place to eat if you are heading for a show in the theatre upstairs
Enjoyed both starter and main courses, nice atmosphere, modern and clean venue, staff very pleasant also attentive, with a good knowledge of the menu. Will visit again.
Really enjoyed, again. Tried the pizza this time and was really pleased to know that I could have a Gluten free base, it was delicious. I also had a gluten free cheesecake, yummy. The staff once again were brilliant.
Food fantastic, can't fault it, the starter was really good and the seafood pizza was the best I've had in years. service really quick just a shame about the company I keep
Great venue, different menu and excellent service. The food was very well presented with dressed salads appropriate to the course.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Staff were very attentive. Will definitely go back. Although it is a confusing on the menu that it doesn't give times for the pronto fixed menu which is only available at lunch.
Lovely food, very good service, and extremely good value.it was really nice to see all the food being prepared, good portion sizes, attentive staff. Will definitely be visiting again.
We're told we could order off the specials as there was a show, then we couldn't. Also told there was 10% off, there wasn't. Food ok, very slow to get drinks.
Fantastic place. Great food, reasonably priced, esp the lunch time special, absolutely huge portions and friendly helpful staff. I Will certainly be going back here.
Reasonable food, Very quiet for a Saturday night so the atmosphere wasn't the best.
Only opened this week but off to a good start! Great food and friendly service- very reasonably priced too. We will be returning very soon
We brought my partners parents with us this time and they were amazed! The food was perfect and the atmosphere was great! The staff were really friendly and approachable
Wonderful food. Superb service. First visit but we'll be back. Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic. From start to finish it was wonderful, the waiting staff and Giovani very pleasant, the food, OMG, the best ever! Would definitely recommend and will be going again and again.
For the 1st time we were disappointed with our meals at The Villa. We each chose a pasta dish (1 mushroom and ham, 1 ricotta and spinach) but when they came there was no difference in the taste and very little difference in the the look of the 2 meals, they were almost identical. I would have expected something more from what used to be our favourite restaurant. We did express our opinions at the time but were left disappointed by the response too. I don't think we'll be returning in a hurry.
Fabulous meal. Really well cooked. Good selection on menu. Great value. Very pleasant staff. Would definitely book again if coming to the guildhall. Thank you
Excellent service and delicious food. Can't wait to go back. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Pre show meal served quickly so no worries about missing the start.
Been here a few times, foods great. No problems all the other times however this time Chef cooked the wrong food. Then had to wait another 20 minutes for right food after waitress said it’ll be 5 minuts.
Nice restaurant and atmosphere. Extensive gluten-free menu. Garlic Breads a little slow to arrive but other than that good service, good food and a very pleasant evening.
Despite arriving an hour and a half before we were due to see a show at the guild hall, we had to cancel our main courses as they had not arrived an hour after ordering. After asking waitress how long they would be she went to enquire but then ignored us until we asked again. Cannot comment on the food as we didn't receive it.
Good value and very convenient for the theatre. Needs better vegetarian options on show and dine menu. The service was very good and it is a nice restaurant .
Service poor (only 2 staff), food was not very good,in fact awful but it was cheap! There was no "atmosphere" which was very unusual for an Italian restaurant. My wife and I were very disappointed and would never visit this restaurant again.
Food was fantastic but the service is very slow. also the Manager should not play with her hair so close to the food. we also have to say the Waitress was very sorry for the slow service. I really do not think it is managed properly .
Poor and slow service. Had to remind them on a coupe of occasions for our food and cutlery. We booked as part of a show and they didn't seem that interested I can only presume it was because we had already paid.
Good choice for pre-show meal. Nice relaxed atmosphere and strong menu.
Food was very nice but the service was very slow. Staff not aware of tables booked with people waiting to be served. We were seated for 25 mins before even asked for drinks !!
we all enjoyed our visit food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful, in a good location in the City centre will call again.
Great food and reasonably priced. Service very good and waiters/ waitresses very friendly and helpful. Great meal prior to show and food delivery to table swift by not rushed. Highly recommended.
Food and service was excellent from start to finish would highly recommend to friends and family, after food we had a short walk to guild hall for show
Lovely food, good atmosphere and good service. I would recommend The Villa to friends. We went at 5:30 on a Saturday & it wasn't busy at all. Seating is spacious and the restaurant is very clean. It was easy to book a table online.
It was beautiful fiod and great customer service. Would highly recommend it to friends and family and i will be bringing my wife back here
