The woolly sheep have done all they possibly can to welcome us visitors back so despite the low temperatures outside it was great and we will be back again tomorrow.

Really warm welcoming service, and within the given restrictions, i.e. sitting outside (albeit covered) the staff did wonderfully well. Efficient seating, good table service, and we knew to bring coats/ hats/ gloves! A tip for the future- maybe have the smokers segregated away if at all possible? Would thoroughly recommend.

A Christmas Day treat for us. We really appreciate the efforts made by Andrea and her team to make it all happen safely. Wonderful service from Sophie and Tess and fantastic food from those behind the scenes. We've never been out for lunch on Christmas Day before but we hope to repeat the experience. Thank you all.

On the Fish and Chip regular menu my mushy peas were non existent! The Timothy Taylor beers Spring Knowle and Landlord were extremely good as would be expected from a great brewery! The rubarb and apple crumble were delicious as was the STP. The staff were exceptional ! Well done ! Get the mushy peas portion BIGGER please as they are a favourite! Cheers.

Brilliant service at the table. The house gun was Bombay sapphire which was yummy. I had the vegi burger with maple bacon which tasted gorgeous. My partner had the hot dog. Both masks came very quickly and were served with a smile and chips. Highly recommend.

Food and service very good but unfortunately food was served on cold plates so food soon cooled down. Steak and ale pie was first class.

Couldn't fault the food and service the surroundings were pleasant but I have to say the drinks prices were extortionate for a pub i usually pay between £15-00 £16-00 for a bottle of wine not £22-00 . I would not revisit at those prices

Very COVID safe, great food and friendly staff. Booked online as a popular venue so wanted to make sure we could get a table. Taken through to table as soon as we arrived and cold rules explained. Drinks came immediately and food shortly after. Thoroughly recommend.

No menu for wine. Paper menu reused as was marked. Waited a long time for food to arrive both meals ordered stated chunky chips yet came with skin on fries which weren’t nice. Food ok but nothing special. Wish I’d picked somewhere else for my birthday meal.

The food was lovely but unfortunately the service wasn’t Shoved in a back room & basically forgotten about I think we were given a different table from the one we should’ve had in the main pub as a couple were moaning about noisy children & they were moved & we ended up on their original table Had to hunt down staff to order a drink & also had to ask for the bill twice I know these are strange times but not a good enough excuse Like I’ve said earlier in my review though we couldn’t fault the food which was excellent

Great, friendly staff. All service now at the table rather than the bar,one of the great covid precautions put in place. Sadly no TT Dark mild on tap which is one of the main reasons we come to the 'Wooly ' as struggle to find it any nearer York!

Hi we were staying in the area and wanted to eat out, but we’re also a little nervous as we hadn’t eaten out since lick down. The Woolly Sheep felt very safe, staff very organised and welcoming. Food great!
