service was poor. young lady took our order of two steaks. I asked for sauteed baby potatoes. meal came. was boiled potatoes. waited 40mins for food in an empty restaurant. Husband had a blue cheese sauce. it was just a cheap cheese sauce. nothing "stilton-ish" about it. realised after 40mins of waiting there was a sign saying Friday 24th may 2 steaks and get free bottle of wine. no one had told me so i had to ask. was too late to drink it so had to take it home. husbands chips seemed stale and over cooked. so crispy he couldn't cut them up and they were crispy on outside and full of air on inside. his steak was also very fatty. mine wasn't too bad. come here 1 year ago and meal was out of this world. tonight we resented paying the 48 pounds but we're too polite/embarrassed to complain. wont return

Staff are warm and welcoming and the restaurant has a cosy and relaxed feel. Good selection of food on both the main menu and also the Specials board - one of chose beef, the other belly pork - both were delicious.

The food was very poor. Soup was cold and had tove reheated. The chips were soggy and either overcooked or raw. The cheesecake was more lik3 a mousse and the crumb base like concrete, sticky toffee pudding was cold. We only drew the attention of the waitress to the soup and chips. However, we were still charged the full amount. I feel the meal was over priced regardless of the poor quality. Won't eat here again, and definitely would not recommend.

Service could've been better, we felt a bit forgotten about and we struggled to make ourselves understood by the waiter. Enjoyed the main meal but dessert was disappointing. No gluten free dessert on the menu (not even an Ice cream menu) and could do with more flexible options for adapting meals to make them gluten free e.g. gluten free Yorkshire pudding or bread buns etc. Treacle tart had very burnt pastry, I should've just sent back really but I'd already eaten quite a bit using the berries and ice cream to disguise it!

We have eaten here before so were really looking forward to a roast beef dinner, unfortunately they have started "infusing" the beef spoiling the old traditional flavour. We enjoyed our meal but prefered not to have added aromatic herbs added to what used to be perfect. The yorkshire pudding was great as usual.

I've eaten a couple of times in the evening from the dinner menu and I've enjoyed it and would recommend but this I think this lunch was not well presented and not good value. More staff and a properly paid chef needed I think

Food was lovely, the service however was weak and slow. It was a Saturday but not late. Quite busy but plenty of staff on. If your prepared to wait for service then it was fine.

Had a lovely stay at the Woolley Sheep. Staff were really helpful, even posting back my iPad I’d left behind. The food was excellent had the Sunday Roast it was delicious and the breakfasts were excellent. Very central to visit Skipton.

The restaurant was busy but we had booked in advance. We ate from the lunch menu which was a fairly extensive pub style menu although there was a specials board. All four of us had the regular fish and chips. They were very good and we liked the Timothy Taylors beer batter with bread crumbs. Two of us had the jam roly poly and two the treacle tart. The tart was very good but a bit hard. A good meal and friendly service.

Ordered a beef sandwich with side salad which when it arrived was a huge salad with a few strips of beef! When I asked the waitress was told if you have the salad you don’t get bread even though the menu said it is served with either salad or tortilla chips , I found the attitude of the waitress quite abrupt and made my party feel uncomfortable, there needs to be more clarity on the menu!
