Great ambiance and location. Food was lovely, but the portions are tiny. You need 3 courses, with sides just to try and fill you. Would recommend, but price vs portion vs quality is 100% for me.

Great food and service, friendly atmosphere. A really enjoyable experience. I would recommend this venue to anyone. The location by the Marina is the icing on the cake.

Our ladies birthday lunch was so special thanks to the wonderful food, ambience, and delightful staff at 1884. We all think it's the best restaurant in Hull - very special.

The Partridge was a little tuff but overall once again lush food in a great atmosphere. Marmalade Cosmopolitan 😍. Will definitely return again, love this place 😊

Food amazing, service hit and miss, we did go later in the evening so may explain it. Hard to get attention but when you got it service was good. For the price and previous experience here I expected more. Additionally I had spoken to them earlier in the day about it being my wife's birthday - they said they could do a birthday plate for her which I thought would be perfect. It sadly never appeared on the day and I didn't want to make a fuss so let it be.

Very nice food serving was poor for a 1m* restaurant waitress not very good or attentive had to ask twice for drinks at the table. Scallops at 12.00 are very very overpriced for the two 10p size ones we got on the plate with a little garnish.

4 of us went and were all very impressed.Service was polite and friendly and wine list was good at reasonable prices. We will go again.

Our first visit and we loved it , food was fantastic as was the service and the setting. We will be goibg back and cant wait.

Relaxing atmosphere with great food and service. The restaurant is alongside the marina so a great place to eat and have a nice walk around the marina and old town

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Two large tables before us had turned up late so the whole evening was running late. We were kept informed by the staff so was not a problem. Cannot fault the food, service or location.

Food still very good, service needs a little tweaking better but still good. Been a while so extremely pleased to see the alcoves blocked off very smartly as previously fed up with people squeezing through to go to the loo whilst you were eating

the place andfood was good as always but the service was very slow not to its normal standards was this a case of xmas blues?? I will still go back as the food is good

I’ve been to 1884 a number of times now and always rated it a 6... although the food was excellent I thought the service could have been better

Nicely set out restaurant, stylish. Excellent food, but perhaps a bit expensive. The reasonably priced bottles of wine are low quality and the staff do not know anything about them. Similarly, while extremely friendly, staff not able to describe the desserts.

The restaurant served nice inventive dishes and the decor was incredibly stylish. The staff were mostly very attentive, I did find they undercooked my steak though. Everything else was delicious.

Very nice meal, staff helpful and everyone had a great time. Excellent cheese board and the scallops were brilliant, all in all a great place for a group night out

I booked a table of 9 for an evening business meal. I had a courtesy call at lunch time on the day to confirm numbers. The staff are very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. the venue is in a very nice environment and the food was very good quality. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We were very disappointed. The Game casserole was bland and the fish pie consisted of mostly salmon. Unfortunately the vegetables were served in a small pan which made it difficult to access them. Also they put an all new focus on the cooking term aldente as the beautiful marble sized sprouts were so hard the none of the utensils provided were able to pierce them. Marble kin size and marble in texture! Sorry but you have lost 3 customers plus those around them whom we will not encourage to visit your establishment

The food was spectacular but the service needs work, our 3 course meal took over 2 hours to be served, we were left completely without attention between courses.

Food very good staff on greeting good staff serving efficient however very dreary did not make you feel wanted never smiled the restaurant had no Christmas atmosphere overall we did not have the Christmas night i was expecting was glad to leave

A lovely evening with friends; fabulous meal, menu choice and service. The atmosphere and ambience is perfect and and all love 1884 and return regularly.

All staff were most welcoming and very attentive throughout the excellent meal. The impressive decorations especially the tree contributed to a great festive atmosphere: we couldn't have had a better start to Christmas!

We had a really lovely evening. The staff were fab and the food was amazing. We picked from the Christmas set menu and even though it was a set menu the choice was great and it was very good value for money.

This was our second visit and we enjoyed ourselves again. The food and service are good and the atmosphere is relaxed. Ideal for a Sunday lunch on a cold winter day.

We've eaten here before and always been happy with the service. However, on this time we were disappointed. We ordered wine for the table, we had to chase it - when chased we were informed this wasn't in stock, nor were other wines we wanted. We also waited too long for other drinks to arrive. The staff weren't very attentive at all. The food was good - but it was the worst experience we've had and the restaurant wasn't that busy.

We visited 1884 Dock St Kitchen on Saturday evening as a party of eight. The food was consistently excellent, and the choice of wines very good. How could it improve? Our waitress showed little enthusiasm for her work. Frustrating to have service letting down the very high standard achieved in the kitchen and wonderful setting in the restaurant.

The food was excellent but waiting staff require training and an efficient Maitre D' is essential. Upmarket restaurant but no-one took our coats, the waiting staff seemed untrained and the man apparently in charge was dressed in jeans.

Excellent food with excellent service,never disappointed,only downfall was on their a la carte menu (which is the only choice on a Saturday)there was only 1 option for a vegetarian,other than that it was perfect.

Food and service excellent. Food was hot and beautifully presented. Set menu excellent value for money with range to suit all tastes. Nice to have glass of wine included

A wonderful reunion with friends was enhanced by our experience at 1884 The ambience was lovely Service warm friendly & attentive without being intrusive The menu selection was thoughtfully put together and the tastes & flavours of our choices were amazing & delicious in every course Very knowledgeable & helpful staff re: cheeses in particular . Talented Chefs Great evening . In my opinion you would have to travel far and wide to do any better than this!
